Pixel phones became official for the first time in Malaysia for the 9 series. I went to a retailer and was mesmerized with the size of the 9 (non-pro). It felt so small in comparison with Pixel 7 (using this). I like small phone. So, can't wait for 9 Pro to arrive here!

I got my 9 pro yesterday. I was worried that I wouldn't adapt to the slightly smaller form factor. However I love the phone it's fantastic and way better feel than my 8 pro. There's no doubt that it looks and feels much more premium .It's IMHO a clone of the iPhone...but in a good way!

Welcome home, Adam! You can make up for the lousy Germ-exican food this weekend. I got the chance to look at all the new Pixel phones yesterday @ a Verizon store in Omaha, Ne. I had no intention of actually purchasing one yesterday, but wanted the hands on experience with the 9 Pro & the 9 Pro X. Long story short, I ended up getting the new P9PXL. I really wanted to love the 9 Pro, but unlike you I have Texas sized hands & the XL just fits better. It's nearly identical in size to my 6 Pro, except the 9 is a tad bit thinner. Verizon has a pretty good deal where I can keep my old plan, keep my old phone, and get $800 off. I just hope now that your initial impression of the new 9 series is correct. If so, I'm going to love this one. My 6 Pro has been the best phone I've had ever since the days of the old Motorola bag phone. Yes, I am that old.

My Pixel 9 Pro arrived yesterday. I appreciate the form factor, camera and AI shenanigans but not the charging speeds coming from an Honor Magic V2. The price is what convinced me to try it. A catalogue company in the UK called Very were offering the phone with 20% back. So I got the double your storage offer (256gb) for £799. Being a Pixel phone, no doubt there will be better discounts than that during its lifetime but not bad for day one.

Yeah I'm gonna skip the 9 Pro XL in hopes that the 10 series next year with the new chipset will prioritize performance a bit more than the Exynos based Tensors have been to now. I'm not expecting any miracles though and for anyone that is, I would seriously lower your expectations. The latest benchmark leak of the SD8 Gen 4 beats out even the new A18 Pro in the iPhone 16 Pro phones and very close to being at a desktop class x86 based CPU so don't expect the Tensor G5 to be anything close to that. I would be very happy if it's at a SD8 Gen 3 level but even that's wishful thinking, Gen 2 maybe. I don't really see Google purposely trying to dial more performance out of it though, I think the very nature that it will be a 3nm based chip and on a better fab being TSMC instead of Samsung that there will naturally be more performance and efficiency to be had but again Google seems hard set on making these chips be specifically good at AI tasks and pushing everything else as second class citizens.

Regarding the difference in charging speeds for different sizes devices. Since apple and Samsung do similar things for their small devices, maybe if has something to do with heat management? Surely it would be easier to use the same charging component across all devices compared to 2 separate ones

Sorry to hear about the Ger-Mex food experience. I've been to Houston several times and my best meal was at El Tiempo on Navigation Rd. Any opinion on that place? Patiently awaiting my 9 Pro order, as it won't be coming until around October 7th for one reason or another... ordered the Hazel 128GB variant. Trading in my 128GB 6 Pro got me $450 off the phone plus $200 of Google Store Credit I'll be putting towards the Buds Pro 2 to replace my OG Buds Pro. Very much looking forward to the smaller size and the all-around improvements that have been made versus previous Pixels, feels like they finally got it completely right this time.

I have been waiting for a pro level phone that wasn't ginormous for forever! I'm glad this is finally a thing however it is ironic that I recently looked into pricing on a pixel 7 pro because my pixel 7 has been great for the past year and it occurred to me instead of upgrading to a pixel 8 or a pixel 9 let me just see about a pro phone because at least then I'll have a better zoom camera on my already great phone, and the prices for the pixel 7 pro right now are pretty good! I just wish it were a little easier to get some cash back for my current phone since I'm considering buying an older phone that Google is no longer offering on their website..

The 9 Pro has shown "out of stock, get notified" on the Canadian Pixel store website since launch. We can buy the 9, 9 Pro XL and 9 Pro Fold in Canada but not the 9 Pro yet. I picked up a regular 9 in Wintergreen and am waiting on the 9 Pro(non XL). Adam, do you think you'll daily drive the 9 Pro, 9 Pro XL or the new 16 Pro or Max?

I can appreciate that Google is finally offering a choice of size. Still, as is the case in previous years, I feel their devices are about $200 overpriced. Especially, when you consider that they are not offering the best chipset available. For example, the Samsung Galaxy s24 plus comes in around $1,000. Better still, the OnePlus 12 is selling for around $800. Both utilize the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 generation 3 chipset; laptop level performance. Frankly, I love Google software and I'm even feeling the new color lineup. Still, it's not enough to overcome the inferior processor and unattractive non ergonomic flat slab design language. Truthfully, it looks like an iPhone clone. Of course, that's just my opinion and other people are welcome to theirs.

The only thing funnier than you throwing trash on the floor during an unboxing is you trying to NOT "Hulk Smash" the sleeve. 😂 I got the 9 Pro because I thought that my 7 Pro was getting too big. It was one of the reasons why I got the Fold instead of waiting for the 8 Pro. It was from one of your Fold videos that I discovered your channel. There was one thing that you said that really resonated with me; you said that the Fold should really be called the "Pixel 7.5". As a person that still has their Fold and is now using the 9 Pro: You were EXACTLY correct. Going from the Tensor 2 to 4 is night & day, and it feels like I skipped a generation of phone. I have had the phone for a week and already have my thoughts, but I'm interested to see what you have to say after you use it. Thanks for the entertaining and informative videos.

I don't think I'll easily forget the "strawberry-Nesquik" Pixel 😆. Maybe we'll get a "banana-Nesquik" or a "rompope-yellow" color in future Pixels. I feel the same way when it comes to Mexican and Chinese food, here in the US. An advantage to living at the border is that I can go to Mexico for Mexican food; as a fun fact, that same border city also has excellent Chinese food, it is Cantonese fused with Mexican.
