I'd really like to know what folks are doing with their phones to where the g4 chip needs a boost. If you're playing gacha games all day, then i can see the point but otherwise? You're doomscrolling whatever apps you're on, taking pics and video and that's about it. The 9 pro XL has been stellar. I'm on the OnePlus Open currently (missed my foldable)and it has a s8 gen 2 and is still lightning quick. I despise the benchmark convo lol.

Pixel phones are great smartphones. Benchmarks are for a unique set of nerds, to be honest 😂. Day to day usage is all that matters, to MOST smartphone users. And the Pixel performs great. I'm using an iPhone 15 Pro Max along with my 9 Pro XL, and the Pixel is the one that I use the most. Warning, long post... I'm passionate about the stuff too Adam. Love your videos ❤️ I'm using a OP12... (Coming up from a Pixel 5). Side by side the massive speed really doesn't make much of a difference. My gripe with the Pixel 5 has always been terrible radio, puny battery life, slow charging, and the worst overheating I've ever experienced on any device. When a new Google phone comes out, often its shortcomings are skipped by some (not Adam) reviewers. These same reviewers often also miss features in other phones that are currently in the market. (Again not Adam) Since Schmidt left, Google has changed direction every time the wind blows. -- Only after ChatGPT did Google discover its "vision" for an AI future. The pixel9 IS an Incredible phone. But it is NOT future-proofed until Google figures out its leadership. I'm going to wait a year or two and see what happens. A more powerful processor may be needed to handle whoever wins the AI space race, and I'm not convinced it will be Google. In the meantime I'm very happy with the features on my OnePlus 12 that cannot be replaced with software... and empty promises.

This was a great reminder to those who need explanations for everything. Most won't listen or understand but some will. After owning a Steak Deck and understanding that the enjoyment was about my best use of the device, it dawned on me how crucial optimization is with tech. The game I play most on my Pixel runs almost exactly the same as it does on phones with the newest chips. Close enough that this particular trade off is so amazingly worth it compared to other things with other phones. This Pixel 9 Xl Pro has become my favorite phone in many many years, it's a great device that works with my life incredibly well. Great video as always fella, thank you.

Google’s intent isn’t a gaming device or a bench mark warrior. They’re building a device around their software & AI experience. I think what we’ll see with the TSMC chip is a better modem, a more efficient NPU, better overall battery efficiency and thermals. I don’t think we’ll see anything crazy as far as scores. Phones are so OP already lol.😂
@kfcc66Күн бұрын
Hit the nail on the head. As long as they keep improving the Soc efficiency, heat dissapation, battery and power, it will result in a great user experience. The other main thing is a better modem as well. With the G4 they've done a good job from improving from the G3. Excited to see the P10/P11 pros with the G5/G6 improvements to come.

I too think that performance is good enough. I would love if they focus on efficiency over max power. No heat issues, more screentime and stable performance much more needed than peak performance. As far as I know google phones get steady performance in tests without strongly noticeable throttling because of "crippling" their less efficient Samsung processor. I think that's a good thing if it shows advantages in obove mentioned areas.

It's alright to have your favorites but I think its fair to say if the google chip benchmarked better you would highlight their outstanding benchmarks. If benchmarks re so unimportant put a tenser 2 in the pixel 10. n the end we all want a phone that just works. My question is would you defend Samsung or apple if they put a 3 year old chip in their next phone after all those would compare with the tenser?

Of course you are right. It is just lazy of Google to fit such second rate chips in their flagships. And then have the nerve to charge over the odds for them. If Pixel users don't grow a pair and start criticizing Google for this, then they will continue to get shafted.
@shaunod6745Күн бұрын
I think in the future, google and others will use the smartphone as a main portable hub surrounded by more and more devices that connect to it, and AI will work in cohesion with them all. So i think things like smart glasses will use the phone to do the processing to keep the smart small enough and lightweight. The same could be done with larger vr headsets for more impressive features like watching movies, spacial computing, etc. I think homes will have sensors for various things that will be able to help people more such as allowing the emergency services to connect if the devices detect if anyone needs immediate help. The next 10 to 20 years will be really interesting when it comes to tech.
