Why are you though? You're watching xda KZbin so I'm assuming you're into mobile phones. You shouldn't be surprised that a three year old "flagship" is still perfectly capable for what people use their phones for. The flaws it has today, it had since day one. Except now with the software in it compared to launch it's actually better than launch. Stop falling for this nonsense that you need to upgrade. That it's some major improvement that is worthy of a thousand dollars. If you're happy with your current phone, upgrading is dumb. Same for your laptop. Same for your CPU/ GPU in your PC. Same for smart watch. Your TV. Your smartwatch. Your car. Your damn everything. If your phone is only 6 months old, you hate using it for whatever reason. Whatever make and model it is. Then it's worth upgrading, side grading whatever. You're not happy with it, get something that does make you happy. Buying the new thing just because it's new. Just because it does XYZ thing better is pure stupidity. The fact that this mindset is so prevalent in the "tech community" , the same community that also loves to go on about the environment, sustainability etc is a actually a sick joke. Just like telling somebody in a video that you should definitely upgrade is pathetic joke.

I like the new design but I cannot see a good reason to update from my Pixel 6 non-pro to a 9. The AI stuff looks barely useful, Gemini is sectioned up with paywalls with lots of different versions which has no interoperability between them. The cameras are good on the 9 but the 6 is also just fine for me still. My phone's battery is also okay for now. There's no updates here that's worth £900. I'll hold out for at least the Pixel 10 when they've got a non-exynos SOC. I'd consider a Fold but I know it could be difficult to step away from a folding phone later on.

I still have my Pixel 4a, 6 Pro and now the 9 Pro XL and do agree with everything here. I tried the samsung s23+ for awhile and overall it was good but I hated having to deal with Samsung's extra stuff on top of Google's. I couldn't wait to get back to core functions like call screening and the like. Over time I started noticing some more frequent stuttering from my 6 pro and the battery is starting to show it's age a bit. I will still pull it out from time to time and let it do updates, but I'm keeping it. I tried dabbling in some custom ROMs on it which was nice to try but it's nice to go back to stock.

Turn off as much Google spyware on your 6 pro and you'll probably have better battery now than when your phone was fresh outta the box. Web activity, app data sharing or whatever it's called. Analytics, maps timeline and so on. Since it's not your primary phone. You can a step further and install something like graphene and put even more Google stuff if you put it on their in the first place in a jail where it belongs and see how your battery life is then. I just checked my regular 6 typing this. 4hr15 min screen on. 50 percent battery left. Off the charger at 630am. It's now 555pm. Just limiting some of spying stuff from the Monopoly known as Google might surprise you.

Could you please do a similar side-by-side of the Pixel 6 Pro and the Pixel 9 Pro Fold? It'd be a great way to showcase how the newer processing and sensor tech compares to the older Pixel's much larger sensors! It'd also be hugely helpful for those of us on the P6P who are seriously tempted by the new Fold but suffering anxiety about a potential camera downgrade. I'd feel a lot better about the Fold if I knew it was at least the equal of my old P6P even though it pales compared to the 9 Pro XL's cameras!

Great comparison. I loved my 6 Pro and had no intention of upgrading to the 9. I looked at this as the "first gen" AI phone and thought I would wait a year. But the phone company me offered a free Pixel 9 Pro XL if I traded in my 6. There's no way I would get that deal next year. So I got the new phone. I'm still settling in with the 9. My first impression is that I miss my 6 but I love the way better battery strength on the 9. Also the 9 is super smooth and the display is magnificent. Speaking of the display, I loved the squared corners of the 6 as well as the rounded edges of the display. I'm adapting to this new format. The 9 feels heavier to me and the speakers are not as good to my ears as the 6. I am tentatively using the AI, as I am on my Chromebook. Overall the 6 Pro will always hold a place in my heart, next to my Nexus Shamu, Moto RAZAR, and Moto X. Good times in the past and hopefully in the future....

Fortunately i managed to work out a deal with AT&T where I'll get the pixel 9 pro for free and get to keep my pixel 6 pro (which i plan to use as a home server mounted to the wall) for me it was two things that sold me. Having a smaller flagship phone because the clunkiness of the pixel 6 pro actually made my life inconvenient, and that 3000nit screen. If i didn't remember to turn up the brightness on my 6 pro my phone was basically unuseable outside in sunlight. I'd have to actually work on muscle memory in order to turn up the brightness and make the phone semi useable in the sun light. It was a bad experience. but those two things aside the pixel 6 pro was easily the best phone I've ever had, and i believe the 9 pro will be the new best phone i ever had.

I'm really pleased to see Google is finally dialling back their heavy handed "crunchy" image processing. I'd like to see them take it even further but with the Pixel 9's new image processing pipeline it's a step in the right direction. Images are looking flatter and more true to life than previous Pixel models. I'd love to see some more examples of people's faces with the Pixel 9's regular camera - that's where I feel, on the Pixel 6, image processing is really lacking compared to dedicated cameras. One other thing Google really needs to work on is portrait mode - their cut outs are by far the worst of the bunch out of Apple, Samsung and Google. Given how long this area has been untouched I have a suspicion Google is going to completely overhaul portrait mode using AI, perhaps with a software update or with the Pixel 10.
@sandrajoseburger19 күн бұрын
The upgrade is in the phones design/software/new battery/modem/performance, for the camera the upgrade is barely there in my opinion and the only reason I would buy another pixel is for the camera. If you like a newer better version of the pixel with almost the same camera, this is it. I always thought that an iPhone with android software would be fantastic, I was mistaken... But in general it's a good phone and still a good camera.👍 Nice review, thanks😘.
@razvanwrmАй бұрын
you see I still have P6P and I have it again. If you go back to his release, you will find that he also took very good pictures. The zoom camera after the launch of P7P, the following updates completely ruined it. It took very clear zoom pictures both day and night and you could use it as a macro, you could zoom at a small distance from the object and the picture would come out clear. Now he tells you to go back. I'm not getting my P9P, I'm waiting for 10 or 11, but if the other phones after P6P (P7P. P8P) have the same problem with the update that ruins the camera, it's possible to get another brand. I say it with great regret.

It would be nice to see a comparison with the Pixel 7 Pro. But when you compare zoom photos with the Pixel 7 Pro, one needs to compare them at 15x because that's the setting where you get the best results from distant objects with the 7 Pro (the 30x algorithm of the 7 Pro is terrible and destroys detail).

8:47 Nearly 3 years ago I bought the Pixel 6 Pro and I sent it back because the camera issues were totally unacceptable. Horrible noise reduction (especially at high zoom factors) and it was also a joke that it had two 50 megapixel sensors that were always used as 12 megapixel Bayer sensors due to analog binning(not to be confused with downsampling). Even when you zoomed, it used analog binning and there was no 50 megapixel mode either. I couldn't accept this marketing lie and waited one year for the Pixel 7 Pro, where they advertised that they finally don't use binning for zoom photos. My impression of the 7 Pro was much, much better and the 15x zoom setting impressed me, so I kept it. Sadly, the Pixel 9 Pro XL (which I tested in a store) makes the same mistake as the Pixel 6 Pro. In contrast to Pixel 7 Pro and Pixel 8 Pro, it again always uses analog binning at 10x-30x, unless you choose the 50 megapixel mode. At 10x in the default 12 megapixel mode, the Pixel 9 Pro XL only gives you 2.48 megapixel dng files, which have far less detail than the 11.4 megapixel 10x dng files of my Pixel 7 Pro. 10x-30x live photo video frames have significantly less detail, too due to analog binning. Again I can't accept this marketing lie (just like the 42 megapixel selfie camera, which only outputs dng files with 10.0 megapixel) and will wait for a phone that doesn't have this issue.

Holy smokes I totally needed this video. I've been contemplating whether it's worth upgrading now or next year having been rocking a Pixel 6 Pro.

Boring material ui design. If I wanted an IPhone I will have bought one. I'm on my 4th galaxy note 9 and the way is going will be on it for another 5 years

My first Pixel was the 7 Pro, followed by the 8 Pro, and then the 9 Pro XL. Each one has felt like a distinct and meaningful upgrade in its own right, so I have to imagine moving all the way up from the 6 Pro would be game changing.

I've had every Samsung and every pixel, nothing comes close to the pixel user experience. I'm sorry Samsung but you focus heavily on specs and not software and that is where you're falling behind. I don't want to have to go into my Samsung app store just to be able to update the camera. Updates are monthly and for some reason with the best processor year after year the phone slows down substantially quicker than my pixels ever had.

disagree went from the 7pro to the s24 and find user experience extremely close but one ui just has far more customization/ user options if they want them and outside the ios universe still the most reliable os. My pixel also still had odd bugs that took the shine off its simplicity/ user experience too

@@quban79shutter lag and terrible camera software alone make any Samsung pretty much worthless (coming from someone who used Samsung flagships for 7 years)
@quban79Ай бұрын
@@stevanb.2590 well I've got both and that's a stretch..pixels have the better camera's/ processing but Samsung's ain't far off either.. also better the pixel in the video department

@@quban79 shutter lag alone is reason to stay away from Samsung (and weak vibration, too). Flagship phone that can't take proper pics of any moving subjects - should not be acceptable.

not worth upgrading, 15 pro max or s24 ultra is better, because of top notch hardware

there is absolutely no reason to waste 1 grand or more on the 9 pro xl. A better front camera and slightly more ram for what? More micro transaction mobile gacha games? That's literally it. The 6 pro even has a higher ppi than the 9 pro and the 9 pro xl. What a waste of money. Just go to swappa and buy a 6 pro for 100 bucks, and use the money elsewhere.

Coming from the pixel 6 pro myself, I've spent just about a day with the new 9 pro. If you're on the fence about it, don't be. This is a absolutely massive upgrade and everything he describes is extremely obvious when you're using the new device.
