Just came across your page, and man, looking forward to going through your videos; your pixel art is sweet, i have done some pixel art, but not that great just yet, some stuff comes out better than i thought sometimes, but I spend way too much time on a single object, I haven't gotten into animation yet, but I have done a few isometric styles, even a mini golf game concept, but hopefully i can learn more with you videos, keep it up. I love pixel art more than any art style in the world, that is because i grew up with 8/16-bit gaming and just fell in love with it.

Damn, mate, this is amazing. I never was an artist (because, well, my scope of competence is very distant from art), but this... This just cracks me up. In a span of minutes, 64x64 transitions through "empty->green circle -> what a disgusting mess -> hey, this looks half decent -> hey, this is legitimately resembles a tree". Hey, just a tip regarding the picking of lighter colors - instead of HSV you can use the Lightness slider in HSL to increase the brightness, it will also influence the Saturation and Value in a very similar way to how you adjust it in HSV.

Do you think making my tile sets weird colors is unique or just dumb? for instance my grass is blu and rocks are purple ???
@PeterMilko Жыл бұрын
The reason why that can be bad is because with pixel art a lot of it is interpretation. Its almost as if things are an icon of the real thing. So if you use weird colors people will miss interpret what you draw.

FYI: draw boldly, don’t be afraid of going beyond borders, constantly switch between brush (pencil tool) and eraser, add details when shape and lights are defined. Use pixel by pixel only at final stage when refining your result, yet don’t sink in. Thank me later for boosting your creativity and speed.

Your tutorials are great dude, I've been trying to practice this technique of leaves by you and another pixel artist, it's tough fully grasping it, but it seems easier at lower resolutions. I know your work seems to specialize in the very small resolution/gameboy resolution canvas, but would it ever be possible to show this same technique in a larger resolution/closer up to the tree, and from a side perspective rather than above? If not, all good! I'll try applying this tutorial to other techniques, this was helpful! Your stuff is so good.
