A battle suggestion. A few years back I was in an online battle that was a 3v3 open field battle. To make it a little more interesting and strategic both teams decided to have the armies split up by unit type. So for each 3 person army the rules were one of us was all cavalry, one of us was the infantry and one of us was skirmishers with a little bit of infantry. It was honestly the most fun and intense battle I have ever been a part of. Coordination and communication within our team was vital. I commanded the infantry and let me tell you having your allied Cav come to your aid in a vital part of the battle is awesome. I don't think I would recommend trying this in a siege battle however. I think it would be amazing to watch you fight a battle like this Pixie. Especially live on facebook so I could listen to your teams strategy.

this siege was a blast to play :P, btw this has really revived my love for rome 2 and i think apollo should do another campaign of DEI, i think that would be a lot of fun to watch him do some cool factions like Rome, Mauria, parthia, athens, carthage of massilia/bosporan kingdom

I just love how you get so into the commentary during the battle. I literally laughed out loud at "Look at this guy, blood on his face, big disgrace." I get so pumped watching these, won't be able to last much longer before I have to go fire up some slaughter and Roman close quarter combat myself. Big thumbs up.

These sort of videos made me like rome 2 a couple of years ago which rejuvenated me to replay total war games nearly 10 years later and also that unit on the wall that fell between 15:30-15:40 was so satisfying

The accurate Latin pronunciation would be "wi-gi-lay" but it in anglicised Latin it would be "vi-ji-lay". The vigiles were not really riot police, their job was more standard nightly patrols, clearing out drunks, catching runaway slaves, putting out fires and generally being a presence on the streets of Rome.

I'm curious as to why the limitation on 1 piece of artillery? Doesnt that limit the options for attacking and make it more favourable towards the defenders? Because I've watched a lot of Invicta gaming and HeirOfCarthage sieges and they both emphasize the importance of making breaches to minimize the killzones available to the defenders.

I know I'm a bit late, but I have a question that I hope someone will see and answer. When playing by these rules(4 range, 2 pike, 1 art) is that always per army, or can one players go without range and pikes for example, and one player with 8 range and 4 pikes? Pooling up your resources basically.

Why have troops on the wall prior to the siege arrival? Those darn bolts do way too much damage when your clumped awaiting for defense. I would prefer have a few units by the wall loose formation and send them up when the invaders are very close

So this idea might sound dumb as I haven't played total war. But have you ever thought of doing a campaign or "season" with some of the dedicated players. Like you and your friends like nico could be allies and be different factions and every battle would shape your campaign, kinda like how you do your warband type games where every battle effects future.. So if you have a pitch battle and win you could attack their city and vise versa... It would require role-playing aspects but just seemed like fun idea. And way to tie these random battles together. Either way i love the videos!! Keep the siege battles coming!
