I’ll try and think of more dedicated videos. Basically every single project that has need of image editing it’s done in Pixelmator, so it at least plays a minor role in every single video I make.

Thanks, Joseph, these are fantastic tips, creating thumbnails will be so much faster from now on! I hope the Pixelmator team adds "save as a template" option soon, otherwise I'm sure I'll forget to copy my template at some point and will edit the original instead

If I'm making a thumbnail, should I start with the canvas at 1280/720? But when I do, and then drag in an image, the image doesn't shrink to fit the space. I can't figure out if there is a way to do that. BTW, there is a dearth of recent videos on Pixelmator Pro so if you are so inclined to do more, I for one would love it. Thanks.

I don't think KZbin cares about what resolution your canvas is, as long as it's the right aspect ratio and is smaller than 2mb. I usually do 1920x1080 and then adjust the quality slider to fit within 2mb.

Well, I’m an old man trying to learn something new. I tried to follow along with the video but it went so quickly I couldn’t follow the clicks and got completely lost from the outset. I guess I’m back trying to learn from the help files. I’m running Pixelmator Pro Version 3.0.1.

@@JosephSlinker Your question of what I am trying to do requires some thought on my part. Primarily I am trying to add ATTRACTIVE text to photos for use online. I am seventy-seven years old and have been heavily into amateur and semi-pro photography for over fifty years. One thing I have noticed, they keep CHANGING the software. I have been through many iterations of software and it gets hard to keep up with all the changes. Currently I use NX Studio, I have abandoned Adobe and am TRYING to use Affinity, and I just purchased Pixelmator Pro when I saw they have some really innovative ways of doing things. I don’t have a peer group to learn from for this work; when I get into this stuff I get lost in the weeds really fast because it’s all new, they’re doing things in new and innovative ways. Today was a productive day for me as I can now add text with drop shadows but there is so much I need to work through, like make my text box less busy but still see the background through it. I liked what your video was demonstrating and tried to watch on my iPad while I did the same exercise on my Mac, but your screen was different and I couldn’t see and follow what you were clicking to get to the screen you had. It’s a good video, I’m just not up to speed enough to keep up. Thank you for your concern.

You can think of Pixelmator as the lightweight version for iOS. It has some of the same features and is redesigned to be touch friendly.
