Love to see more tutorials for Pixelmator Pro! I've been using it for YEARS but I feel I've only scratched the surface. One thing I'd love to see is a GIF making system within Pixelmator with transparent backgrounds for things like alerts on Twitch and such (If it doesn't have it already and I just don't know how)
@IainAnderson2 жыл бұрын
Yes - you can export to animated GIF with clean transparent edges in the new release of Pixelmator Pro.

I love Pixelmator Pro! I own the entire Affinity Suite (both versions), but my go to for quick edits, layouts and thumbnails for my commercial work is ALWAYS Pixelmator Pro! A delight to use, very powerful and now with video. Here’s hoping that the background removal for videos becomes a thing in Pixelmator, if it isn’t already. Thank you Jenn for all that you teach and do! You are amazing!
@roxville Жыл бұрын
Yeah, unfortunately, it does not have background removal for video layers. Not yet, anyway. Depending on your video frame rate, it would need to do it to 24-60fps.

Hi Jenn, thanks for your bubbling video. In several of your other Pixelmator videos you have asked viewers whether they'd be interested in more of your videos on Pixelmator Pro. Though many of us have requested for more of such videos on Pixelmator Pro, you seem to have been in a state where you could not create more videos on this matter that I feel is a 'public need or demand'! Have you considered collaborating with other talented video makers [Mario Duch whose video I have seen today comes to my mind] and planning for a detailed video tutorial series covering the basics of editing images both for beginners and for Pros? I would love you do that. Regards Dr. Somanna

First I'd like to thank you for reintroducing me to Pixelmator Pro - I had tried a trial many versions back but never pursued it after that. The ability to edit video and create LUTs that you illustrated sold me, so I just purchased it. Second, after I downloaded it, I tried it out on a 4K clip I had filmed with my Panasonic Lumix S5. The color adjustments and LUT export worked great, but I did notice that the sound was out of sync with the video (slightly delayed). It didn't interfere with creating a test LUT, but I wondered if this was a common issue? Not a big deal, but it surprised me. Is anyone else experiencing this?

I love PixelMator Pro, it is the best tool I have besides Final Cut Pro. It is amazing for photography, and recently, it has become my go-to photo editor. I bought Pixelmator years ago, upgraded to the Pro version a couple of years ago, and hadn't really used it all that much. But to be honest with you, this app is better than any other. I use Lightroom now simply as a cloud storage service and edit everything with Pixelmator Pro.

You should try using Apple Photos as a cloud storage service. In Apple Photos you can have different libraries. One you can use for your personal photos and another for work.

Hi Jenn. That's very useful. Thankyou. I am new to working with Pixelmator Pro and FCP with Motion, having upgraded to them in the past few months. I have also invested in the Serif Affinity suite.and together I am taking my publishing business to a whole new level. I haven't yet got my head around Motion, but all in good time! Compared to working with iMovie with Pages, Keynote, and Graphic Converter (still a very useful and capable combination, of course), there is definitely a lot to learn but I am finding the results more than worth the effort. So, in answer to your question, yes please!

Listen. I know a lot about FCPX, been editing on it for idk 10+ years or something. I use this app professionally every single day and I’m so tired of watching tutorials because I get my hopes up that I’ll learn something new and I seldom do. This channel, is one of the only channels that somehow always amazes me I cannot believe nobody has put me onto Pixelmator like WHAT!? I’m buying this app ASAP. You are actually so cool. Thank you for the tip!!

I used to use Final Cut, Motion, Photoshop and Illustrator for video production. Pixelmator Pro does the vast majority of what I need from PS and AI for one low price. And, no subscription! Plus, it has its own unique capabilities and feels like a true companion to Motion and FCP.

I LOVE Pixelmator Pro and have been using it since upgrading from the original Pixelmator some time ago. I love your tutorials and have enjoyed the few Pixelmator Pro videos you've created. I'd absolutely enjoy MORE!!! I pretty much learn by doing, and I've learned a lot about the software. But I am always wanting to learn what I don't know. Case in point, I had no knowledge of Apple Motion before catching your videos about Motion after watching a Pixelmator Pro tutorial the other day. Now, I want to get Motion and play around with it. Makes me wish I'd found you a long time ago!!! Thanks for all you do to share your tips and tricks!

Video idea: I don’t know if it’s only me, but I’m sure a lot of amateur KZbinrs would like to make logos, watermarks, like and subscribe animations, intro and outro transitions WITHOUT buying and learning Motion, so maybe some simple Pixelmator direct to FCP ideas would be cool, if you haven’t done that already. You could do a with Motion option and without Motion option? Anyway, thanks for the video. Very helpful and well done. Quick pace without losing me.

I learned on adobe, and have really struggled to like Pixelmator. I still can't say that I think that it's anywhere near as "good", as photoshop. However, its price and lack of a forced subscription model are enough to keep my adobe sub cancelled forever. Tutorials like this really help a lot in easing the pain of fighting with this app, thanks!

Is there a way to apply a blur to the bokeh effects layer only? When I apply it to the same layer, it blurs every layer of the photo. When I apply the blur to the layer above the bokeh layer and apply a clipping mask, it still blurs the whole photo. I'd love to blur the native bokeh affect...without blurring any other layers.
