The guitar duos in this song always amazed me. Great writing from Frank and Joey.

this video really helped me to learn the rythm part, but i think in the begining francis plays the 13 note on the d string and the 11 note on the b strings and sometimes he hits the 11 note of the e string

I'll have to check that. Learnt a lot of things from the recent Bossa/Trompe shows but I haven't posted updates on this channel for ages.

@@sixpie. don't worry, in the end you're still the most accurate channel, you literally killed it on rock music, it was so cool

Always lived this song. Drop D and capo 1st? I do a couple Pixies on my channel

J2K back in the day they had "drop D" tuned guitars also tuned 1 "whole" step up for Palace of the Brine & Letter to Memphis. You can also use a capo. Bird Dream is also a "regular" Drop-D, as well as Alec Eiffel & Planet of Sound. Trompe Le Monde has a lot of Drop D songs !

what tuning is it ? Looks like Drop D but you it appears as if your playing all the six strings in the first chords barred like an open chord

Hello. That's a Drop D. I'm mainly playing the 2 top strings (except for the "solo" part :-))

Are they playing it lower these days?

On the recent Bossa-Trompe tour Frank was using guitars tuned one semitone higher for this one and a few others
