its 2 am, im lonely, im sad, and im scrolling through my subscriptions and find this video, I subscribed 3 years ago when I wanted to learn more about photoshop, and the first line you say is ""i want to remind you each moment is a new moment and that you can turn it around." and thats exactly what I needed to hear right now, even though this is a photoshop tutorial... thank you

This is probably the first time I leave a comment here. I'd like to thank you for what you've been doing all these years to spread knowledge. I mainly do street photography and other types of photos on the smartphone, just to train my eye for spotting opportunities and to improve composition skills, and of course I rushed to try out this sharpening method right away this evening. It really works. Thank you, good sir, and God bless you, too!

I learn so, so, so much from you. even your little "aside" moments are packed full of useful techniques. For instance, the history snapshot - always wondered if that was possible. And your 10 seconds of motivation on this video - reminding me that I can turn a day around at any moment... just beautiful. Thank you for everything and have a wonderful day.

If you convert to greyscale before you use high pass, you loose a lot of detail.-> if two different colors next to eachother have the same colorvalue (same greyvalue when converted), you loose their contrast/edge -> which causes it to not be picked up by the high pass filter.

Fantastic video! Thank you once again! First of all, it's true....every moment is a new moment. Where I live we say, "If you don't like the weather, wait 20 minutes". But everyone can refresh each moment, we can adjust our sails and continue moving forward. Takes practice. I have returned to your many videos time and time again to revisit Photoshop topics when I don't remember something. I mention you to people who hate art, hate computers, and especially hate Photoshop. Why? Because your bright spirit, sincere desire to help others and to contribute to other's happiness, together with your attention to detail, acquired technical prowess, diligence, ability to teach and share, and so many other great qualities, can benefit and encourage others universally in whatever they love; in any field of human endeavor.

I’m not an editor but my boyfriend is. Long ago, I took an art class that taught me how to use photoshop back with CS2. I learned from a textbook how to edit stuff step by step. One of the things they taught was how to sharpen stuff. It used Gaussian blur to fix motion blur of a taxidermied bear. I remember adjusting the numbers in Gaussian blur in greyscale and then like magic, it was tolerably in focus. I’ve spent YEARS trying to convince my boyfriend that you can use Gaussian blur to fix motion blur, which he is convinced is impossible to fix. With your tutorial, I can finally prove him wrong. So thank you for validating me!

I don't care who you are as and editor. Either it be 20+ years or think you know Photoshop like the back of your hand, you will always learn something new. Especially from Unmesh channel. As an editor myself since the early 2000's, some of the techniques you show folks, if they really pay attention actually opens many doors when editing far beyond the tutorials you present them. Great stuff brotha!

Hi Unmesh and thanks for Your always inspiring channel! I have to say that this method is very nice but, You can obtain same results by simple Hi-pass, You just have to put the Hi-pass layer in vivid light instead of overlay... You can also use it in linear light for an even greater sharpening effect. I'm involved in astrophotography and I always use these kind of sharpening tecniques. If You create several layers of Hi-pass with a decreasing kernel (blur) sizes one on top of each other, You're actually make what we call a wavelet sharpening function. Anyway many of Your videos inspired me alot in the creation of new techniques to be applied on astronomical photos so... Thank You very much and keep going!

This appears to only work on photographs, like the examples in your video that are fairly sharp, to begin with (or very slightly soft). If the image is noticeably blurred, I have found that this technique does not do much to correct it.
