for anybody else looking to find their perfect world seed, i like to use the program cubiomes! it's similar to the chunkbase seed viewer, but it lets you input parameters for biomes (ie. desert within 400 blocks of spawn, ocean monument within 800 blocks of spawn) and searches through random seeds to find options for you. the parameters are a little difficult to understand for a beginner so if you're not super picky then chunkbase works fine, but if you're really, REALLY picky about the biomes you want, i find it useful!

This sounds really good for me! I spent ages searching for seeds I liked for my last couple of worlds and still got stuck with no key biomes within thousands of blocks of spawn last time, so this should really help!

@@Pixlriffs hi. if you're looking for a challenging spot to build a base on this season(maybe at a later point in time when you're more established in the world), try a hill. not any hill, one that is pretty tall(peak at y level 125-130 or so) but at the same time doesn't really have too much of space on top. when i decided to play on one world for the rest of my time, i spawned straight in a desert village which i was quick to leave and head west, and in about just 350 blocks, i found exactly the kind of spot iv'e described. it had a sizeable crack of sorts leading into a big cave on one of its sides, but i decided to settle at the top of it and now, 1400 days into the world, i still struggle to fit something nice and beautiful on it. i'd like to see you try doing that in a video, maybe you could show me the way to do things on it using your superior building skills. super excited for the new series, good luck on your future in that promising world we just got a glimpse of in this video! the spawn in that looks just perfect, not too much drama and the perfect blend of things.

Season 3!!! I love the survival guide! And it's the seed from the stream, yay!! I love that water gradient so so much, I was thinking that it's fine if a cherry grove is small because the trees themselves create the particles unlike the nether biomes, but the one thing you can't replicate by planting trees is that gorgeous new water colour, and the water flowing through the different biomes like that is so lovely!

I've been playing this game since 2011-2012. I've always started on a random seed without knowing anything about the close by environmnet. As i kept playing i got discouraged because the world i was playing on was lame. I've done so for many worlds and 99% of them i've stopped playing for the same reason. Now, i've never tried doing it the way you do it, but it actually makes a lot more sense. You waste no time exploring the close by regions and if you see a world you like you actually get really inspired and thats what i was lacking. A world that feels like it could be my main world that i play for a extended period of time. I thank you for making this and it actually shows that it doesn't matter how long you've been playing for. Everybody plays in a different way and i enjoy finding new ways of playing the game. Thank you for this guide :)

I have been playing Minecraft for more than ten years and have been a fan of the Survival Guide since the beginning of the first season. I am looking forward to the refreshed approach with each episode starting in a tutorial that segues into demonstrative play. In this episode I especially like the suggestion to list criteria for selecting a new world seed. That made me think about previous worlds that I have most enjoyed. Those with extensive waterways that allow relatively easy access to many different biomes stand out for me. So, I will take the time to make a list of criteria and will use ChunkBase to look for an attractive world that features a network of waterways that I can use to best advantage. Thanks for the suggestion! Thanks for starting a new Survival Guide series! I am looking forward to enjoying each new episode over the coming months.

I'm really glad you picked out your seed this season. I play exactly like this, in order to want to play more I like living in worlds that whisper to me build ideas before I start playing. I think this trend really started during 1.18 for me. I love the survival guide a lot, as I am a noob when it comes to Minecraft but you have made it quite easy for me to get into the game! I was originally going to follow along with the same seed but I found my own with the help of chunk base and I think you would appreciate what I found! Not too far from spawn is an amazing Cherry grove on top of a mountain biome, the middle of the grove (top of the mountain) is a water filled crater. It had several cave entrances and indents in the cliff-face that I made a winding cave and mountain path up to the top. at the midway point my mountain path opens up onto a cliff where a single Cherry tree stands growing on the cliffside. I love to just stand beneath it and watch the blossoms fall! I never would have tried looking for cheery groves like this if it wasn't for you! Wonderful job Pix and keep up the great work!

I started playing MC in the demo version and on 1.13. Because I was in another country, it was over a year before I was able to buy Java edition (although I was able to buy Bedrock edition for my phone). For me, the demo seed is so iconic that I always start in 1.13 North Carolina and load it in (and walk to the 1.13 plains village I remember to load that in too) before upgrading to the current version. A MC world wouldn't feel the same without that.
