@@krishnajoshi3855 the terrain generation is supposed to be the same. But the structures (villages, temples, spawners, etc...) may be different. In most cases they are but occasionally they're the same. So if you see a spawner, village or possibly a geode, it may not be in the exact same coordinates. Could be shifted slightly or altogether not there. And that goes both ways... Java to Bedrock and Bedrock to Java.

I couldn't catch survival guide season 1, it was before I played Minecraft. But seeing you in season 2 was an absolute delight combined with hearing your thoughts weekly on the spawn chunks (to anyone who's unaware, pix co-hosts a podcast. It's been almost two years and I have been completely hooked to it). As delightful it was, season 3 carried that pix zest which I think was missing from the previous season. I appreciate the slow nature progression of Minecraft but it felt more like tutorial than a survival let's play. Unlike this time, you are amazing at explanation of game mechanics and it's more intuitive. You showed the world, survived the night, showed farming, upgraded the house, etc. This time it is about what Pix is doing rather than what Pix should be doing. Perhaps, one of the reason you couldn't enjoy season 2 as much.

I must say that your method of finding a perfect seed helped me to compile a list of plausible seeds for our server's world. What I was looking for was obviously a somewhat flat terrain around spawn, and I even found some seeds where you spawn sort of besides an ocean, which kinda calls for a port themed spawn. That would be interesting, and I haven't seen a whole lot of SMPs that would have a spawn next to an ocean. Definitely something interesting to have.

@LovelyLawla3 ай бұрын
just be careful with glowing signs as they can cause a lag if you have a huge storage room due to how the game renders signs vs glowing signs. In a storage room of this size, it is fine, but if you have a much larger room (hundreds of chests) or even as part of an auto sorter, the combination of extra lag can leave you with a very jittery game due to the fps being so low.

Hey! Great video! I was thinking that since each column of chests has four containers and each sign has 4 rows of text you could just make your signs a bit more detailed for each chest/barrel.
@tefazDK Жыл бұрын
another advantage of barrels is that they dont cause any fps drops like chests do. If for example you were to place a lot of chests in a place your fps would start to get hit. Barrels won't have any impact on fps. at least not any less than a normal stone block.

To expand on the magma block trick, I like to carry a few around with me when I know I'm going to be exploring underwater. I find it a bit easier than using doors because doors are harder to break underwater without the Aqua Affinity enchant, and doors are of course more expensive.
@waveclaw Жыл бұрын
If you are on Java with the Experimental features enabled, it can be helpful to carry around magma blocks, Lilly pads and doors in a bundle for a 'water survival' kit. Sadly, single stack items like boats, axes and picks consume a full bundle. So no Minecraft 'tool bags' until you get into late game with Shulker boxes. It would be nice if non-stack-ables counted at 8 or 16 items instead.

There are a couple things which work differently on Bedrock: Double chests are automatically created, even if you're sneaking. You can prevent their creation by pushing the chests next to each other with a piston (which can't be done on Java due to blocks with inventories being unpushable), but that might be a bit expensive in early game. Barrels are cheaper again on Bedrock, using sticks where the Java recipe uses planks.

An important note about using item frames on chests... If you have a huge storage building, like, a massive one, with literally hundreds of item frames with items on them, it will cause your game to slow down a *LOT.* Like, down to 20-30fps while facing my storage building and I usually had a few hundred fps. I have never used signs for that so I don't know if they'll do the same. Probably not. But yeah, I had hundreds of them. A few dozen should still be fine, even a hundred would probably be ok. But more than that and you'll start lagging like crazy!

the black text with a "glow" white outline is a total headache for dyslexia - add youtube compression and the signs become completely illegible! I wish there was a way to re-colour signs to remove the glow. But I love the fact you can wax signs so they're no longer editable - the solution to the problem of accidentally clicking on signs on chests! I'm trying to use chiselled bookshelves for enchanted book storage but it's so so hard to find what I want - most of the books are fishing loot so a mix of everything. They look really cool but honestly.... a barrel would be so much more practical.
@williamludwick77 Жыл бұрын
On bedrock you used to be able to use a regular ink sack (not the converted black dye) to remove the glow. Not sure if that still works. Or if that didn't work on Java. But I guess the "easiest" method is to just break it and replace it.

1.20 has deterministic RNG now. So if you follow along directly, you'll get the same maxed-out gear. Identical efficiency, unbreaking and fortune followed by the same in silk touch for your picks and then axes. It's surreal to see, though. Mendelson is going to need to make a comeback real soon. A mending villager is just mandatory for breaking into mid-game. It gets pricey to keep such ridiculous gear repaired using XP and diamonds.
