Getting any rank is acquired by getting enough points in the level. You can get either a D, C, B, A, or S Rank based on your performance at the end. Getting to B isn't too difficult if you're aiming for most of the collectibles in a level, but if you want to hit S rank you will have to pull up some leg work.
To get a P Rank in a level, it is expected that you do the following things within one run of any level:
Kill an enemy before leaving the first room
Get enough points for an S Rank
Find all toppins
Find all secrets
Get the secret treasure
Go through the Lap 2 portal
Never drop your combo once

Watching this after I P-ranked this level and I noticed a lot of things you did differently. I really like that about Pizza Tower: There's enough wiggle room that you can develop your own route/style for P-ranking the levels, but it's still a big challenge that needs practice to pull off. They nailed the sweet spot for difficulty.

how the hell do you s rank this level? i literally got more score than what this guy did (around 17k at the s rank) and i got 19k, still didn't get an s rank. i got all the secrets, the treasure, toppins, everything. still just got an A that was full, but didn't turn into an S

@@cr1tikal_arc 20k is the minimum, it's really brutal. with how high the combos need to be to get S rank you might as well just go for P rank, my one successful attempt for S rank (which BARELY) did it only dropped combo one time.

@@wileecoyotegenius5955 SAGE is absolute trash. If you play it like a speedrun game it's fine but it seriously punishes you for small mistakes and the level design is intentionally dickish trying to sneak hits on you at every corner. One place that really showcases this horrible pacing and terrible level design is that room in bloodsauce where if you don't super taunt off the previous room's combo then you get a bomb thrown at you then fall into lava and have to wait like 3 solid seconds just to be able to move again. If you're doing that blind right after is a large box which you need to break by starting a belly flop off-screen and if you miss it you have to do the jump again. Oh and when redoing the jump you have less platforms to do it with, so your chances of falling back in are even higher on subsequent retries.

You need to kill a mob on the very first room of a stage to start a P-Rank run and keep that the whole stage. If you skip that, the run will not start and you'll get a S-Rank only.

Not true. I P ranked the level and I killed every enemy in the room EXCEPT for the forknight directly under the spawn door, leaving him for the return trip. You only need to *start* the combo in the first room.

I literally save a cheeseslime in Gnome Forest's first room for the escape & I've got the P rank for it, you can leave behind enemies as long as you start the combo in the first room.

The down thrusting before hitting the wall is interesting. I always just let Peppino hit the wall because it won’t hurt my combo and plus it gives me an extra half second of breathing room

I think that's required for an achievement; don't hit a wall while sliding as Knight Peppino.

This level is an absolute nightmare to p rank miss a jump? Say goodbye to your combo! Got hit by some fucker with a fork? Say goodbye to your combo! Didn’t pick up the sword frame perfect? Noise drops in and personally gives you the middle finger. Oh and did i forgot to mention say goodbye to your combo? This level heavily punishes you for minor mistakes like the ones i listed

Fun fact: the reason why you get a S instead of a P when you did everything you can't do is because you have to start a combo from the first room until you get an S and that S will turn into a P

If you taunt while you have a combo active, you’ll get an extra 25 points per taunt. So that was just a way to increase the high score at the end of the level

to get an S rank, you have to get all secrets, get all of the caged toppings, get the secret treasure, and do another lap. P ranks are all of those things, but you have to keep the same combo going from start to finish.
