Great movie. I liked the film, I liked the acting, and Dorothy Davenport & Melville Shyer did a great job of directing. I'm only sorry that Beautiful (Mame) had such a tragic ending. Mae Busch did a super job of portraying Mame.

Notice that one of the directors of this movie is a woman Dorothy Davenport who was an actress, screenwriter, and film producer. She was one of the few females in the industry to work behind the scenes before the big studio system was enforced. Her father (Harry Davenport), played the father of William Powell in the "Thin Man Series". After the big studios became more commercial, women were far and few behind the camera, (Ida Lupino, Dorothy Arzner) just to name two in that capacity. Women then were costume designers, make-up, ect...
