I am amazed that with all the quality B-western stars they had in the early 1930's that an actor as bad as Bob Custer was given a chance to lead some pictures. But these horse operas were so dusty, rickety, and authentic-feeling that it is almost like watching documentaries. They are indeed charming and fun! One of the best things about the early 1930's efforts was their lack of music. Thank you!

The "picture business" was pretty young in 1931 and it wasn't too far from the days of the western frontier. Many of the actors and extras were frequently cowboys who wanted better wages than ranch work. There is an authenticity about these early "oaters" frequently missing from later westerns. Be patient with the early acting, dialogue and staging and enjoy the riding and "adventure" of these films. All movies are fantasy! Very enjoyable. Thanks for posting.

Yes. Like watching through a time machine into the 1800's. Nice one. The 1930's not too far from the real thing.

The acting was ok but the producer was lousy how he filmed it. Guess they were still learning.
