@pizzahotline_ Hey pizza, beautiful playlist. I've been trying to find the Shenmue song that plays at 11:14 but I can't find it anywhere to save my life. Do you know the name of the song?
@pizzahotline_10 ай бұрын
Hey. Sorry but I don't either. I found a download in a Shenmue forum for all the music that isn't named or officially released. I can't find the download now. Have a look on Google. It's called cutscene music or something. It's a big album of loads of stuff that didn't make it onto the ost
@_Jumby10 ай бұрын
Holy crap I found it! It's called 'Nozomi Vs Enoki & Nagashima'. When you said cutscene music, that was it. I found a cutscene compilation on KZbin. I'll put a link for anyone else trying to find it. Link: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jnvIc6aLh5mMd9U

What's the difference specifically, is it the fact people had more hope of what the future would look like? What do you guys think
@thatparkerkid3684 ай бұрын
@@aphex2056The difference in my opinion is that there wasn't as much of a money incentive. People were making things because they truly believed in their vision, not because they thought they could make a quick buck. I feel like now more than ever people create things with the end consumer in mind, they want to make something that everyone is going to like. However, some of the best games have come from people who sat down and made something with their own enjoyment as the goal. People are too worried about whether or not other folks are going to like what they made opposed to just making something they themselves would like. They will compromise their original vision to appeal to a more general audience. This leads to most new media to feel very homogenous and bland, an amalgamation of ideas that have already been proven to work.

@@thatparkerkid368 I think you’re close but not exactly. We have to keep in mind that a lot of what we’re referring to is Video Games which was still frowned upon as a business and it wasn’t until the later 2000’s and early 2010’s that we saw it become more of a corporate business, that’s where we’ve lost a lot of that creativity and passion.

I know I risk sounding like a nostalgic-eyed fool, but I really miss when games used to look and feel and sound like games. These next gen graphics genuinely look fantastic, don't get me wrong. But I don't think I ever played video games because I thought they looked or felt realistic. I never looked at Mario 64 or FF7 and thought "wow this looks so real!" To me, it felt more like I was playing with a toybox filed with its own world. Mario felt like a little doll I was moving around and making jump around. FF7 felt like playing with action figures. But thankfully we got the indie scene out here trying to fill that gap to some degree haha. And we'll always have videos like these to take us back.
@GroovusGoonicus-nb5op8 ай бұрын
I think you came up with the concept of the first smash bros haha. But I feel you completely dude. To me they always felt like getting lost in someone else's dreams. The combo of stylized / low poly graphics with sound design could evoke a wider range of emotion and atmosphere, at least for me. Made for more unique and subjective experiences ya know. I do miss the time when all games felt that way, but those indie games have reached incredible heights chasing those feelings
