am frm australia...i travelled to pakistan last yr...and had a chance to sit on PIA...i must say tht u guyz hv very talented pilots...i didnt even feel anythng when landing....he was actully doing low fly pass...

Perfect landing and great camra work ! After a long haul flight is a great feeling touching down in Islamabad .. I just wish that immigration and customs at Islamabad were not such a turn off.

Airport was called "Islamabad International Airport" before it was renamed after BB. It may not physically be in Islamabad, but it is the airport of Islamabad.

Mahad,pilots do so because putting up flaps after landing reduces lift significantly,which helps slowing down and prevents from becoming airborn again,it is a common practice ,but not all airlines do so. Regards

Fantastic, the Pakistan pilots are universally known to be the best, koi shak nahi, when is the new Islamabad airport happening, the only downside s the airport to think its the capital, my garage is bigger and better equipped, they need to make it better than Karachi and Lahore airports, at the moment I think Peshawar airport is better

Excuse me but last I looked this airport was known as Islamabad international. It has since become Benazir International. I think we are all aware this is Pindi but thanks for pointing this out.

Awesome landing. One thing to note is this airport seemed to have less trafic. Meaning,,,, if lets say this was Atlanta, there would be ten air crafts line behind this plane to land. So the pilot would be in a hurry. Land the land, hit the brakes hard, and turn it, almost half way on runway trying to get off it. Not coast like this guy did, using all the space possible. Either way, good landing. Interesting how the engines open up. Does anyone know if that is how they reverse the engines?

as soon as the reverser unlocks the 747-400 two innermost slats will close, unlike the classic 747's where all of them close

a feature on all 747's, its to protect them from the thrust reversers jet blast I would assume, and prob also to kill lift...
