13:09 Not only did Newton invent Calculus, he invented it in less time than it takes some of the smartest people in our society to kind of learn it. The invention of Calculus was only one of a laundry list of other accomplishments like basically inventing all of Classical Physics out of thin air, coming up with the first universal law, coming up with Classical Optics, inventing the Newtonian reflecting telescope, etc., etc., Engineers and most scientists still use Newtonian Physics for the vast majority of calculations they do and modern technology simply couldn't exist if it weren't for Newton.

Woody was a highly paid programmer for years, so I'd imagine he does understand something so complex that Kyle, Taylor, and Drift0r couldn't understand it. But it would computer science, not pseudo-religious bull crap. But for some reason engineers always seem to think they're so well-informed about these pointless issues that literally no one cares about lol.

PKA on the Bible is reddit atheist-tier. Kyle says, "it's so obvious the Bible was written by men, they don't even mention modern understandings of science!" Almost like a religious book is about philosophy and human behavior and not literally describing the exact science of things 🤔.
@SquattRakk
@SquattRakk 2 ай бұрын
Exactly. A book can be entirely true, while still not containing every piece of information in the universe. The Bible is a historical compilation of manuscripts that depict the human struggle with God. I don’t assume my history textbook to be false because it doesn’t tell me about mitochondria. Their argument is the same as an atheist saying “if God comes down and shows me this specific piece of evidence, then I’ll believe”. Requiring a divine and omnipotent God to bend to your will in order to believe essentially means that you would rather be God. It lacks any sense of humility or submission to divinity. Also, nobody claims that the Bible was “written by God”. Christian’s believe it to be the divinely inspired word of God, but the manuscripts were obviously written by humans. Muslims on the other hand do believe that allah literally wrote the Quran, but that is certainly not the Christian view of the Bible.
@AquaStockYT
@AquaStockYT 2 ай бұрын
@@SquattRakkThe issue is *in* the contrast with the core philosophy of deterministic physics which governs our scientific understanding of causal reality. There are many stories in the Bible which directly contrast this, least of all the paracausality of God's active intervention directly breaking every existing scientific calculation on again a philosophical level. That and the statistical significance of our scale (look up yo) indicates almost perfectly a non-interventionist creator, thusly if there is a creator one must accept that and incorporate it into their interpretation of reality or you'll forever lose the scientifically minded, who generally operate all of modernity's most necessary infrastructure. That's why generally the interpretation which sees the Bible as parable ingrained into our process as a means for sapient life forms to develop universalistic ethical constructs as early as the Stone Age is the one most God believers who operate within STEM abide by.

Well he’s not wrong about it being written by men/humans, he’s just stating a fact there. But one of the frequent arguments that’s made in defense of the Bible is that it makes hundreds, if not thousands of predictions, or at the very least contains knowledge that at first glance doesn’t seem plausible for them to have back then. The way Kyle worded is wasn’t the best, but his underlying point was that if the Bible actually is the divinely ‘inspired’ word of god, and is claimed to contain such vast and inexplicable knowledge, then why wouldn’t some of that knowledge be scientifically/technologically useful or even relevant to us currently? Why do all the supposed predictions/foreknowledge claims pertain strictly to things that were happening in, or related to the era in which they were written? It doesn’t disprove the Bible or the existence of any gods, but it does make it appear much more likely that it was just the workings of men who were working with what they had at the time. Completely hypothetical, but just imagine if we found the original manuscripts of what we now call the Bible, but it references iPhones, a Tesla truck, Donald Trump being president and that the Celtics will win the championship last year. As crazy as those examples are, just imagine if the originals ACTUALLY contained them. Wouldn’t you use it as definitive and clear cut proof that the authors of the 66 books in the Bible were divinely inspired by your god? TL:DR: The mention of iPhones/tesla trucks in the Bible would be more convincing evidence than “prophecies” such as local rivers drying up or towns/cities being destroyed.

I think its likely that the reason 40 is often used is because it was the average life span at the time we now use 100 as a reference for a lot because we as humans see it as a long time so at the time i think it was likely 40 days and 40 nights was like 100 days and 100 nights to them and the same could be said for why they believed no man could withstand more than 40 lashes 40 was just slang for a lot like 100 is now

Even if your life has been bad up until the point of being aware of reliving it, you should make it worth living from here on out.

The thing is, Religion _is_ "old timey" science language Nearly all scientific language originates from religion, the mere practice itself is a manifestation of religious teachings of humility and pursuit of knowledge/understanding/revelation Never in human history was there ever a secular/non-religious void where scientific thinking and practice could emerge and sustain itself

@@SilientShadow "Religion" comes from the Latin word meaning "to bind together" The whole point of science is to "bind together" the objective truth of the universe and its design (a profoundly religious concern) Your definition of "religion" is called "dogma." i think it should be mentioned that flat earth theory is different to the earth is flat when viewed from a highe dimensional plane. bcuz were in a "3rd' dimension the 2nd dimension looks flat and has no depth. and the 1st dimention is a plane only viewable from one direction and invisible in the opposing direction. It would be cooler for ppl to talk about the flat earth from a dimension then a theory based on nothing. but they are right to poke holes in it, however God fearing thing still works despite thousands of years of destruction and the world ending a couple times or more. God fearing way of life is not a religion but religions have formed around it.

I'm in no way trying to make the claim that the universe was created in 6 days, but I do want to point out a flaw in their argument. They wonder why the universe would Appear older than it is, but literally that's always the case with creation. I'm pretty sure 1 day after being created, each animal, each plant, and both Adam and Eve both Appeared more than 1 day old. It's pretty consistent in that regard, and the same is true with virtual worlds we create as humans. A kid joining a brand new minecraft server should not run to the first tree and math-out that minecraft trees take X amount of minutes on average to grow, and another kid finds a particularly tall lava flow and calculates that for the lava to have gone from the top to the bottom would have taken even longer... and therefore conclude that the server Must be older than the 3 minutes it has actually been online. Again, I'm not wanting to claim it was all made in 6 days, but as Kyle points out in other videos, even if you're talking about fake things (mythology, game lore, ect), you should get it right.
