I know a guy that lost all his teeth at 16 when he was lifting way too much weight, his spotter was a dumbass, and the bar slipped from his grip at the top of the lift and he ate 200lbs. Coach warned him before the lift that he shouldnt try that much weight and he said “i got it”. He sure did.

What? They’re actually believing the deadlift meme? Oh sheesh. Be a responsible lifter and always make sure you work on your form before you start putting on weights and there’s nearly no risk. Deadlifts are amazing and I’d say essential to just having a solid, strong body.

deadlifts are some of the most essential lifts you'll ever do. The problem is, just like with most lifting exercises, you see someone doing a crazy PR and think "oh wow that lift is dangerous" when in reality its just the weight thats dangerous, not the movement itself.

“Why would you want to get stronger” Gsr way stronger....then weaker. It’s much nicer, being much stronger. You don’t notice it because of perspective. If you slowly get stronger, it’s hard to notice since it’s so gradual. When you have a drastic decrease in strength....it’s pretty obvious....having good cardio with it as well...

I heavily disagree with comparing being lean and "Looking Strong" because looking strong isn't being lean, It is having a massive amount of muscle with a layer of fat over it. It is called Bearmode. This also makes sense because you will never see a world record bench presser who looks ripped.

dead lifts can be unhealthy if you're not smart about how you incorporate them into your workout routine/regiment/training schedule/whatever you call your workout sesh. *ALL the powerlifters like to say that their way is the ONLY healthy way* but, in my opinion at least, the only person I've ever seen and heard make a great argument for why powerlifting is genuinely healthy and, will grow your muscles faster than anything else you're doing during your workouts, hands down without & beyond a shadow of a doubt is Robert Oberst. convinced demolitia Matt (aka Matt Carrier the badass vet hilarious dad guy that runs DemoRanch/offtheranch/vetranch) to start deadlifting and to get into deadlifting but, only deadlifting with a hex bar. I forget exactly why Robert preaches the hex bar but, that seems to be to me at least, the best & healthiest way to rock some deadlifts in a way which won't totally ruin your muscles and your body in general is, throw that motherfucking weight around with a hex bar and don't lift absurd amounts of weight every time its deadlift day or whatever. I do know. Robert for sure talked about it on Joe Rogan's podcast when he was on there, I forget exactly when he starts explaining his philosophy to Roe Jogan, but, it is incredibly interesting & made perfect sense to me, someone who doesn't really workout. & if I do, I'm rocking some bitch ass 20 to maybe at most 40 pound curls/holding that 20-2 20 pound weights to my chest and throwing them motherfucking sit-ups the fuck down for aboot ten minz' or so. I'd like to get a bar and a few assorted weights and do those two arm curls or whatever plus whatever the name of that lift is where you sauce the either single free weights/the bar over your head of pump that shit to work your traps and shoulders. but idk. I be hella broke, especially now as a Canadian. and I don't exactly want to be buying some disgusting second hand weights off of FB marketplace at the moment, as that just seems like a splendid way of receiving ünd contracting the 'rona-19 virum. #fuckingmint #fuckinmintyboiz #passmetheronanolyme #ronavirumwiththelymediseaseisnoiceündrefreshingonahotsummerseveyuhhhhhurrrrrrmejigglypuffs
