A brief search about wind turbines shows each wind turbine takes 700 gallons of oil to lubricate it and the lubricant must be changed every 9 to 16 months. The carbon foot print of making the oil, shipping it, replacing it, and disposing of the old has got to be a lot more than whatever "carbon neutral" means.

From mining the materials to refining the materials to transporting the materials along with transporting the construction equipment constructing the wind mill on top of transporting materials that are required to service the wind mill it will not off set the oil and coal used to make it, more energy was spent making it than the energy it will ever produce in its life span and on top of that you can’t even recycle the blades effectively so it more often then not goes into landfills

Let’s not forget that the companies responsible for these wind turbines were given legal exemptions from US Fish and Wildlife and Canadian Wildlife Service for all the migratory birds that they kill. If they hadn’t gotten that exemption they would face MILLIONS of dollars in fines pretty much in perpetuity. Ever heard of an oil company getting exemptions from fines when their product kills wildlife?

Ive worked on rigs since 2010 in the bakken, ive worked on both workover/drilling rigs over my career and can confirm the stuff we do WAS man stuff. I still watch videos of gangster af derrick hands latching pipe in 5th gear and it gives me a chubby. That being said, im 5'5" and was 130lbs when i broke out (and it was old school when i broke out) anyone can do the job if you have a sense of work ethic, take pride in working, and WANT to be there. Ive been making a 6 fig income since 2011 and still have all my fingers and toes. Yes ive had to be taken to hospital but it was 100% my own fault ( i stepped wrong off the stairs going from the rig floor to the cellar and blew out my ankle(tore all the ligaments)). Yes its a dangerous job but statistically youre more likely to xxx driving to/from the rig. Theres good companies and bad conpanies to work for (i currently work for a subpar safety wise co but i prefer it) the oilfield now is largely very safe the tweakers you see on yt shorts are not the norm of rig hands/roughnecks (theres a difference). Its generally fairly safe and usually only a few people xxx on rigs every year, but theyre usually doing dumb stuff that causes it to happen. I got a kid from detroit thats probably 5'2, hes of african decent (he claimed to be "from the trenches") and hes been one of the first "kids" to impress me in a long time. Its still just as dangerous as it was but people are working "smarter" now and not doing as dumb of stuff. Dont take what you see on a yt short as the oilfield cuz its not like that anymore on 99% of locations. I wouldnt suggest starting now in the patch in nd but if you want the full experience dec/jan is a good time to start on the rigs as its the most miserable itll ever get. I dont regret getting into the industry, its the only profession i know of that you can make 250-400k a year without a college education working for someone else. Lots of money to be made in oil/gas and theyll actually hire felons

This is what grandpa had to say about windmills becoming carbon neutral. This is an example of a woody uses the best data and says that is standard Lower end: Within 6 months to 9 months, considering all lifecycle factors. Average: Around 6 months to a year for many installations. High end: Up to 1.5 to 2 years, particularly if there are significant emissions from manufacturing, installation, or if the turbine's operation isn't maximally efficient.

we have about 2000 years of nuclear energy at expected rates of energy usage. Gotta figure out fusion before then because we need some nuke plants to generate some of the fusion stuff we need. We have a bit over 4x fossil production compared to wind and solar and it looks like it is growing at a rate a bit under 3x as fast as wind and solar (estimate). I would guess it would cause global horrors to produce 3x more wind and solar for the rare earths required to make them work. China is already a cesspit to make what we do have. To stop the growth of fossil we would need to ensh*tify the US, Canada, and Europe to get the rare earths/copper/cobalt. To start putting a dent in fossil use we need to do so more, so how about taking out the lower chunk of africa and the useful parts of south america. Of course to get those places in line we will need military invasions and probably triple the size of the military and military industrial complex of the US and europe (lawl canada). If we kept building nuclear power at the rate of 1975 to 1990 and didn't get any better (by 1990 they were already tapering off construction), that would cover about 1/4 of the fossil fuel usage (i'd guess mostly replacing coal). I'd guess about 70 years going all out on nuclear to replace coal and the gas power plants, so even that won't happen in my lifetime, It will take at least twice as long to do it with wind and solar and it would be much more destructive. Rarely agree with woody, but he is right about it be red woke even if 90% of the "facts" of the show were correct. Still more conducive to civilization than left woke.
