I'm with Kyle here for a beginner it's better to try it out with a gym membership for the first year or so

Definitely I have a kettle bell set and a pull up rack like the one woody has for easy days and do all the other shit at the gym

I'd rather spend a few grand on a home gym than have to be in a room with wildly insecure, cringey people videoing their workouts

I just bought my first home and have wanted to build a home gym but I can’t find weight plates in stock right now. I deadlift allot and My goal is to get to 500lb deadlift. So I have to get allot of plates. I even bought a weight plate mold to make concrete weights but like Kyle Said. I inevitably just bought a gym membership.

You can just get an adjustable bench press set(with weights up to 145lbs) from Walmart. Comes with barbell and all for $250. You can use that bar to hit every muscle on your body if you pick your exercises right. It’s what I did and I gained 15lbs of muscle in my first year.

I bought all my weights and barbells at car boot sales. Or yard sales to you yanks. Its always good to have dumbells in your reach for an impromptu workout no matter what.

Home gyms are the best but there are some things you can’t do depending on what you have.

Theres a lot of things you can't do unless you're rich as fuck, I have one but don't use it anymore, have like 400 pounds of barbell weight but dumbbells only up to like 25kg, squat rack, bench, but fuck it I prefer going to the gym

Wheres kyle getting his prices? You can get a pull up bar for 20$ that hangs in a door way, adjustable dumbbells you can get around 150$ and an incline bench you can get for less then 200. Plus when it comes to dips you can use a counter or something. With 500$ is plenty for a cheap beginners set-up

I think I wouldn’t be too difficult to build most of the shit you need for a home gym if you can weld or you know someone who does. It’s literally just a metal frame at the end of the day. Also, you could go to the nearest farm to where you live and ask the farmer if you could have an old used tractor tyre for free that you could flip in your garden. You’d still have to fork out for weights and a barbell (you could buy used as they probably last forever) but I’m sure there’s a way to build a home gym on the cheap. it’s just having the space to put it all, that’s the problem.

stupid kyle. a barebones benchpress is like 120$. bar is 20$. weights for bar maybe 100$ give or take how much your benching. dumbbells 50$. so all in all. about 300-400$. gyms you have to pay for membership fee which is like 120$ then 20$ a week. now that over a year is more than a grand. owning a bare bones gym at home is for life.

lmao these guys are ridiculous with their spending. Don't waste your money on "sets" Just buy singles of what you're going to need/use. You're not renting your home gym out. So why waste money on sets that are going to give you things you will never use. And these dorks are probably going off name brand shit with their prices. when for the basics like this, all the products are virtually the same. Any added price is in name alone. You only need to worry about price when it comes to more expensive things like cable machines, etc.
