Saying you shouldn't have that knowledge isn't wisdom, and in those emergencies will result in you dying. To relate back, is violent crime lower today? Sure. I'd still like to know how to defend myself in case of the .01% that I need to. For the record almost everyone i know owns a gun and I don't know any of them that have these weird fantasies you mention. It seems to be something projected onto us a lot more often than it is the reality.
