I RAN this movie all summer when it came out-we had a line as wide as the sidewalk and down a full block on Woodward Avenue in Detroit (yeah, there were still a few neighborhood theaters there in 1984) for most of the show's run. The only thing nuttier was the "celebration" when the Tigers took the World Series that fall.

This is a great example of ozone, turbo and kelly standing up for what they believe in and making the people at the theater stage realize that music is music, any style of music and it should be appreciated by the people who represent it. Ozone stood his ground by showing the people there that we are people who have a different type of music, but dont discriminate against someone for doing what they love. Give someone a chance to prove that their type of music is just as important as anyone else's music. You don't never know what someone can do if you don't let them show you their talent. Everyone is talented in their own way so let their talent shine and who knows what can happen. The people who shunned you might actually end up needing you in their group and hopefully everything works out for the best for everyone!

@@patriciacolombini6567 Musical genius really maxed out in the 1970s though. Wasn't around then but just from what I've heard, the ingenuity, the number of instrumental arrangements played, the vocal talents... Then the eighties came around and there was a huge drop in complexity of the musical arrangements and a major shift in the soundscape with synthesizers making up a larger part of the eighties sound.
