For 17 years now, Brian’s voice and placebo’s rythms don’t resonate to my ears but to the deepest corners of my SOUL. They’ll never know how much their music helped me in my life. Thank you just for existing.

The sheer display of vulnerability in this song is just something else. Takes an incredible amount of courage, especially as a man, to write lyrics like this. It's why this band and Brian are so special.

I listen to this song every now and then like I'm pressing on a briuse to see if it still hurts, pretty sick I know but I know there's at least a few out there who can relate. Before I'd ever gone through any sort of heartbreak I found this song to be beautiful and romanticized it. Then real heartache and betrayal came and Placebo describes everything so well, he invokes all the feelings so very well -- pure anguish. In the height of my heartache I'd wake up everyday and I'd want to scream in anger but also in agony. I was shell shocked as to how did everything come to what it was. I'd never loved a person for years like that before, I'd never experienced that kind of love before and I'd also never had to force myself to come to a full stop of being without that person either. He hated me for leaving, I hated the selfish actions he'd made. A year and some change later I really do seem to be fine. It was an experience. An experience I'd like to try again?...fuck no! But an experience nonetheless showing how human we really are and that we really are LIVING this human experience. It's part of the human experience, if you want love love and heartache tend to come hand in hand and lucky are the people to be loved so fiercely, but damn foolish are those who squander that kind of love away. Thank you Placebo! ❤️

I’ve been there, repeatedly because of the same person. It has destroyed the person who I was, it’s destroyed my passion, my will to live, my mojo, my hope, my everything. This is a painful cathartic song for me. Found someone I thought to be my soulmate. Went through horrible dark times and incredibly beautiful times together and he just broke off our engagement and it was like I was dead to him. We were both using and were drawn to each other like fire so the chorus cuts me up because it's the exact feeling that haunts behind my eyes every day and night of my life since.

+Avoraskela This comment is from ten months ago, so how are you doing now? Healing from the breakup? Not still using, I hope? Your comment caught my attention because your description of your relationship sounded just like the beginning of my relationship with my husband. Both using, madly in love with each other (he moved halfway across the US to be with me)... and of course it eventually turned into a nightmare because of the drugs, and I had to leave to get clean and away from that lifestyle. It was a painful two years living apart, constantly worrying about him overdosing, getting arrested, getting robbed, etc. However, thankfully, he finally got his shit together too, and we eventually moved back in together. Now we've been clean for ten years (me) and eight years (him). Of course our relationship isn't perfect, but life is so much better than I ever could have imagined. After 15 years together (been together since I was 17), some of that early fire fades, but there is still plenty of love, and it's a more healthy relationship now that we had time apart to work on ourselves. I truly hope that you find a relationship like that- healthy and full of love. Maybe you already have by now. 😊 Stay clean and you can have a fantastic relationship and life!
@EmmieeTV8 жыл бұрын
jenromano19 Thank you for your lovely reply. It's nice to hear it worked out well for you guys. Everyone told me that rule #1 was never date another junkie because you'll end up destroying each other and I guess for us that was true. I'm clean, but from what I understand he's still not. We're not in touch anymore because our priorities meant we were no longer good for each other. That's fine. Sometimes that happens. It sounds like you two must have a great bond going through so much and supporting one another. :) All the best to the both of you.

"Exit Wounds" In the arms of another who doesn't mean anything to you There's nothing much to discover Does he shake, Does he shiver as he sidles up to you Like I did in my time? As you wake does he smother you in kisses long and true? Does he even think to bother? And at night under covers as he's sliding into you, Does it set your sweat on fire? Want you so bad I can taste it, but you're nowhere to be found. I'll take a drug to replace it, or put me in the ground. In the arms of another who doesn't mean anything to you, do you lose yourself in wonder? If I could, I would hover while he's making love to you Make it rain as I cry... Want you so bad I can taste it, but you're nowhere to be found. I'll take a drug to replace it, or put me in the ground Want you so bad I can taste it, but you're nowhere to be found. you ever loved a person so much it becomes part of your life, it captures your whole essence, you can't wake up in the morning or fall asleep w/out thinking of them, you fantasize about what your life could be with them present, seeing you, touching you, caring about you... understanding their flaws but still seeing them as a person, with a soul so broken but so pure it makes you wanna cry. Knowing you cannot change anything to make them feel the same feelings you feel for them, but still holding their existence deeply in your heart, comforting yourself that, even if not physicially being able to be around them, there's still a part of that person existing solely in your mind, and you can settle for that, at least. You ever loved somebody so deeply, you would still wish them all the best, even if not with you. And nevertheless it still it hurts like fire, knowing you have the ability to give them so much to make them feel happy and loved, but for some reason they're not letting you do that... and all you're left with, is the warm memories you spent together and a minuscule crumb of hope that, if nothing else, you have left at least a slight trace in their life.
