Places of worship are target of crime in Oahu

From stealing religious relics to defecating in the sanctuary, more of Oahu's places of worship are being desecrated.

Please call the ACLU Honolulu office and thank them for helping to keep the homeless on our streets, for fighting against sending many of them back to states where they came from, and for fighting law enforcement's efforts to enforce the few crimes that apply to this out-of-control problem. It is heartbreaking to see how someone can go so low to violate a facility of Faith that offers a moments Peace in exchange for a few minutes of a busy Life. These acts are committed by people who Do Not have a sound mind. It disrupts the boundaries of daily responsibilities and one’s own moment of Peace. I hope city officials have a plan to stop this because targeting a facility of Faith is unacceptable. 🧐🙏🌺

I'm no angel, I've done things in my younger days that I have regretted, but I have never, ever considered going into a house of worship and doing the things that these criminals and low-lifes are doing today. We as human beings need to live by certain principles, certain guidelines, otherwise we'd be just like the animals.

How about volunteers to sit in the temple? I'm Christian I am willing to spend my time volunteering at a church and Shinto or Buddhist temple to keep these burglars at bay. Not close, people need access. The devil doesn't want us to go to our sanctuary. Reconsider...

There are not many religious people now days which in the past these type of places would be full of and that would make it difficult to steal things but as these places empty out and become museums these evil grave robbers come to steal from the ones who have no physical form to stop them.

Perhaps the church need to take "by appointment only" worshipers now. Does seem that many people are going thru the church all day long so might be doable. At least for now, if they don't want to close the church up all day, every day. Only my thoughts.
