In terms of survivalist like TV survivalists Les Stroud Is the dude man just went out in the wilderness all by himself with the camera. The only time I think he ever somewhat abandoned their survival thing was that time he almost got caught in a hurricane in a lifeboat

I've never been camping and heard coyotes but I have been camping somewhere with a fairly large koala population during their breeding season. Their mating calls are a horrible, loud, roaring-grunting sound

Played the demo of this ages ago. Been waiting for it’s release for ages and keep checking the release date and it was always TBC, then the other day there was finally a date! Can’t wait! Also on the map size of things, in the demo I got to the edge of the map, but nothing actually stopped me from going further, so I ran and ran as far as I could to see if I could find the edge. Nope. Either it loops around or it’s huge! Found lots of cool stuff too out there!

@@burningshine5524 there is shelter building, and danger, such as wolves and bears. Probably other stuff bus that was all I encountered in the early demo. Game goes at a slower pace than most, so you don’t see much in this video. I really hope the later stages match the early gameplay progression in the full game.

I have this demo, it reminds me of camping in Scotland . I like the game but have difficulty with some of the mechanics so am here to learn. I also harbour the same dream of a equally deep but *slightly* more ergonomic Unreal World successor :) Ever since that game I get unreasonably excited by things like retting and passive fishing so if this game has those things, sign me up! I think the one thing though that consistently separates UW from the rest is that sense of progression both in terms of your knowledge of the complex mechanics and how they affect your growing ambitions in the game... most games can't match UW for depth and they don't really have nearly as much longevity. In UW you can aspire to some pretty lofty goals once once you are self sufficient and have complete freedom to attempt them - though whether you survive long enough or die by stepping into your own trap/get chased up a tree/get lost/eat the wrong mushroom etc is another matter...! Anyway I hope this game can live upto the comparison (or to whatever its aiming for), and highly recommend UW for those who have never played it. It is a masterpiece.

"Pick up 10 rocks" as the first activity is such a turnoff for me these days. I've picked up millions of rocks in the past, don't ask me to do it at the very start of your game. Why is it so hard to just have small piles of rocks and when you pick them up you get anywhere from 2-5, say? Less tedium, more gameplay, please! Love the video as always Splatto

Don’t know any games that does this, but I do wish for tides and floods. Swimming will cost extra stamina which may result in drowning. With low tides, it’s easier to cross to other islands.

Yeah man, even with a lot of the crafting bench stuff locked down until full release, there's so much to do. @glenn9575, same here! I backed my camp up to a river, put a fence around two sides, and rhen started digging a dry moat ( a "ditch" I guess really) around the area to keep the wildlife out! Probably would have been easier to just keep food and stuff out of camp 🤦‍♂️

I realize it's a personal thing, but I "NEVER" "EVER" play top down viewed game's. But this one via your posting has got me courious. However, the clincher for me will and would be to the N-th degree. Does it meaning the game, provide game pad support or only that of KB&M?

I tried it, and had issues. The first time I killed the rabbit, picked up the trap, but had no rabbit, I also lost two traps, looked all over where I put them, and where the map says, and couldn't find the trap. And lost my axe, found it, and was unable to pick it up, period. I was gathering things to make a new trap, and my screen went black, my computer would do NOTHING. I had to hard shut it down. I started over, couldn't find my trap, again. Lost my axe, again, this time never found it and shut it down. Maybe another time I will look at this game, but right now...its got issues. I play on an omen, have lots of ramp, and a SSD hard drive, and a 3070, video card. So I can handle anything, and do play some intense games...so its not me.

E.g. the preservation of the rhotic R in American English, which used to be universal across all English-language accents but has mostly disappeared in the UK.
