One is a single inventory the other is swapping between which random chest you left stuff in. Considering they have instabuild and other non immersive stuff they should just add the linking. Unless that is an upgrade or some kind of module that makes everything connect.
@TheMrDewilАй бұрын
@@HidForHG I get what you mean, and I agree. One thing is when you're out hunting-gathering, and you want to squeeze as many items in your inventory as you can. And it can be pretty fun, if done right. And the other thing is when you have to rummage through your many chests to find where you've put that one thing you need to craft other thing. And that is no fun at all. The same way list inventories are no fun. I always wonder, why so many devs don't implement linking. Not everyone is a fan of organization, and it is a neat QoL. Just a little "let's pretend that your character knows where everything is and just grabs it before crafting". When devs don't do that, it always makes me think that they don't play their own game, and because of that I can't trust them to make a good one. It can be ok game, but not good one, or great one. And if it's an "immersion" issue, whatever that means, a simple options menu toggle would do the trick. After all, having a choice is a good thing.
@lukewarren9593Ай бұрын
@HidForHG I was just having a goof... It was just funny to me that watching 2-3 videos in a row and both polar opposites were said. I get what you're saying though. I wonder how easy/hard it is from a programming side of things how linking of chests would work. Is there a proximity that would be acceptable? Would that make it harder to program. Or would it just be easiest to have any chests across the map all linked up? From a multiplayer gamer perspective, I don't want chests linked if I'm sharing a base with 3-4 others and lets just say the one that isn't doing the bulk of the gathering also happens to just craft out of my chests everything they need before I get a chance to upgrade my weapon/armor or whatever...?
@lukusblack6442Ай бұрын
It's fun, but it has it's pointless irritations. Power being first and foremost. We know it's night. We don't need an alarm to have to find, and turn off before bed. One thing I might add, something that tends to be overlooked in games like this, is a tether. It's 3D, out in space. Losing your base with ten seconds of air isn't abnormal. You should be able to craft a magnetic tether you place every time you leave, then hit a button to get pulled back to it, or have it automatic when you're running too low on O2.
