I really appreciate the realism in the details of the weaponry in this movie. For example, when he shoots the gun in the sewer, and his ear drum bursts, or when the bear attacks and they use the fire to keep it at bay, finally using the bear's weight against itself with the spear (This is actually the proper way to kill a charging bear with a spear)

I remember watching this movie. It turned out to be a very good one. I felt bad for the parents left behind. It was good (inspiring) that they found a way to live within that building......but I felt bad that they were left alone, in the end. I think it would have been better for the "kids", who were able to go outside, to have stayed around and just rebuilt a society that also included their parents, who could not go outside their buildings. I think that would have made for an interesting new society. But that wasn't the vision of the moviemakers.

No, 100 fell into the "Lost" trap of adding things that made less and less sense while zooming out narratively. This movie, partly because it was a movie and not a show, stays very pure. I'd also like to see the continuation of the movie, however in a form of a sequel instead of a series that would most likely get cancelled after 1 season with many open plotlines. It would still be uncertain if the sequel would be any good, considering it would be quite different in several ways.

Wrong choice of word, sure. The idea still stands that if they step outside, they die. I'm pretty sure that they showed scene's of that during the first part of the movie.. People where having convulsions/foaming at the mouths at the site of standing near doorways.. So I think it's safe to say 1/3 of these people would have died if they got forced to go outside.. If you watch the full movie, you will see how it's basically physically impossible to beat this "feeling of outside". Don't underestimate how one's brain is wired.. There are normal people out there who will have a heart attack at the thought of doing something that they fear.

There used to be another show just like this years ago, probably 1990s or something if I remembered correctly. It was about how humans are unable to go out of their homes because it burns their skin and is forced to be in a lockdown. Something to do with the sun burning too bright and hot that it burns the skin. New generation was born and the kids are let outside and they don't feel the pain but their skin slowly melts off and is replaced with some sort of metallic shield that prevents them from burning alive from the sun. This show is some sort like that but different. I don't know if anyone remembers it.

I think it was an episode of The Outer Limits, or one of the other twilight-zone inspired shows. I remember seeing it as a kid. Some song was going around the party scenes that appeared to be seriously messing up young people, but couldn't be heard by adults (I think playing off the loss of the hearing spectrum that occurs even by early adulthood.) It turned out to have been transmitted to earth by aliens. Unbeknownst to us, the sun was about to undergo a catastrophic chemical change, and the music caused children/teens to transform into having metallic skin to protect from the harsher UV. If I recall correctly, they eventually found a way to cause the same effect for adults at the end. Pretty sure some of the kids afflicted early on died because of medical attempts to save them from the transformation.

I really liked Enrique, as well I liked his character arc, where, before everyone were forced to stay inside because of the Panic pandemic, he started out as a jerk (a boss-cliche), but as his character develops when the Panic pandemic hit and helps Marc to find his girlfriend, he became a friend to Marc, plus, there was no betrayal at all (which is rare in movies these days). So that's why watching him die is just heartbreaking. RIP Enrique

True that. I fully expected him to sell out or turn on Marc at some point because movies tend to use that trope. But it's good that he was a decent man and smart too, gathering seeds and supplies and giving Marc a different outlook on this man who he only knew before as the asshole boss.

7:50 Just be honest UPFRONT if you really want kids or not. And if you change you mind about kids later in the relationship TELL your partner right away otherwise you're a bad person. Period. End of story. Whether you want kids or not is a deal breaker. You can't compromise on that issue. Either you want them or you don't and if you and your partner are on opposite sides of the issue the relationship is over. You will NEVER change someone's mind who does really want kids and you will NEVER change the mind of someone who really doesn't want kids. If you try to baby trap them and believe they will love the kid once it's born think again. They wont, they will resent you and it will build and build until they hate you. And they will resent their child and maybe grow to hate them too. No child should EVER grow up feeling resented and unwanted. Don't do it. Just end the relationship. No matter how much you love them they will resent you and grow to hate you if they want kids and you refuse and they will resent and grow to hate you if you force them to be a parent.

Enrique was probably a "hatchet man", expressly hired to do downsizing. So he purposefully put out a ruthless, jerkwad persona to make people uncomfortable and resign. I remember watching this movie with my mom about the time when just about all 50 states in the US got their first Cov-Id cases. While watching it we talked about how some of the issues the people in the movie were going through were not all that different then what was being experienced by those trying to deal with Cov-Id. Where it got to the part were people started having to eat things like rats/birds/etc. and sometimes shooting/killing each other for the merger items/food that one had on them, I told my mom "At least things are not that bad". And after a moment of thinking about it I added "..,..well at least things are not that bad yet, but who knows if it will get that bad in the future". I think after me saying that she got just a little more stressed out than she was before.

Great movie, but the thing is without all the guys constantly repairing power lines and infrastructure the whole utilities grid would go offline with no maintenance. Additionally, the number of fires that would end up breaking out would make living inside buildings for any extended period of time in urban areas untenable. the story is basically about a massive psychological shift in the mind of everyone. the movie makes sure to show that it doesn't happen all at once so it's not magic or a super natural monster at work. the movie shows how a few already mentally compromised people are being more anxious and began panicking , to the point of a fear of either the outside or sunlight or sun warmth to a lesser degree. these kinds of panic attacks leading to heart failure and death by seemingly innocent forces actually happen to people. the 1st man just didn't want to go outside and everyone thought he was weird yet they were fine although they saw him die and rememberd that. the the viral video of the boy killing himself because the panic was too strong. the MC started seeing less people or others acting strange. so it shows you how impressionable people are and how easy people can make drowned conclusion and make connections that are not always there. the MC thought he knows what happened to the original guy ..as the population started to also worry, they become more vulnerable to the conspiracies in their minds already which was people dying because of the sun or outside. it's literally mass hysteria which isn't really something that happens like that but it's still possible. so this is why everyone old enough to remember that time as grown acustom and fearful of going outside but the really young people don't have that psychological imprint in the mind for the body to turn against it's self when going outside. also the MC show himself focusing on his GF and not being outside and was able to power through it.. this movie is about a massive paradigm shift ,where the collective society has unconsciously agreed that outside is bad because a few people had a panic attack from it now everyone is having it passing around a purely mental sickness.

Things requiring large-scale organization (like fuel supplies and power plants) will be almost impossible. The tools are there, the parts are there, but the skills will be very hit-or-miss after 15 years of starvation and fighting, and the organization and incentive systems would have to be completely rebuilt, which would take a VERY strong and intelligent leader of the kind rarely seen in history. Even a medieval level society would be tricky when the important skills of that level are rare among modern folks. An urban IT guy can't teach his son to blacksmith or use a horse-drawn plow. I'd bet on mass die-offs in most places, with new centers of society growing up in rural areas where people know enough about farming to feed themselves after the tractors stop running. They'd have a small boost from the availability of modern tools, but much of what's lying around isn't relevant to that lifestyle. Maybe not "from scratch", but close enough to it.

@@mikethespike7579 whatever, have fun with that notion. The problem becomes , as shown is as a introvert you would be exposed more. Unless you're a survivalist like introvert, this seems like it would be your worst nightmare. As random people pop up, attempting entry to your goodies.

@@quinnbaygo2112 Well, yeah, in a post global catastrophe scenario you'd have far better chances of survival if you're part of a crowd. Unless you're a trained survivalist with excellent skills I think an introvert wouldn't last long on his or her own.

I would've loved to see this concept explored more. I know it would probably be watered down eventually, but it would be interesting to see how other countries react to this kind of disease.

I teared up when Enrique dies, from a 15 min recap video. Good narration for a fine film.

Its cool to see people acting with honor and sympathy. The way to be instead of becoming agressive and freaking out.

A very metaphoric and full of symbolism. Regeneration. A cycle. Old generation. New generation. Old world. New world. Very interesting movie.

It looks like a good film to watch, even if GPS doesn't work underground or in tunnels.
Super sport🤯
