Putin is very smart. He knows there will be nuclear war. Therefore he wants to buy time and wait for winter to launch a big offensive against Ukraine with Belarus. Vladimir Putin for those who don't know, he scrupulously follows the doctrine of Mikhail Kutuzov (1745-1813), he says in his biography "that you should never face the European armies between spring and summer. To defeat Europeans, we have to wait until winter, that is to say the beginning of October, the cold and rough climate will give us an advantage because the Russian soldier is used to fighting in the snow and frost unlike the soldier who came from Europe which will not resist 5 days under a temperature of -10 degrees. Winter is our shield against Europe and the cold of the blades which will massacre thousands of European soldiers. Mikhael Koutouzov speech at the end of the war: "To repel the he antichrist Napoleon Bonaparte, we sacrificed hundreds of Russian soldiers to slow down his march on Moscow as soon as he arrived in kyiv, our objective was to hope that winter would arrive very quickly to counterattack. The Russian soldier will always have a ground advantage over the European soldier when winter comes."

Some considerations for further refinement of this simulation would be: 1) tactical nuclear strikes against early warning radars in the north of the UK and in Alaska, or similar strikes from the US-NATO against radar sites in Russia. This would devastate one side's ability to detect launches and might cause a strike-first mentality. 2) China would likely join in and devastate Japan and South Korea, and might even nuke Taiwan. China committed this year to expanding their nuclear arsenal to 1000 warheads. 3) Some targets are absent, notably the pacific US navy assets. Hawaii, and some bases in Japan would likely be targeted to prevent naval air superiority in a post-nuclear exchange. Also don't forget that are mid-course ballistic missile defenses which would be targeted. One is in Alaska. Others would be AEGIS cruisers and Carrier battle groups.
@GezenDeveloper2 жыл бұрын
In this Russia vs NATO context I doubt China would join. Why join when your 3 biggest competitors obliterating themselves in a nuclear war. Just wait it out, then do whatever, since no one will be able to counter you in a meaningful way. This is of course unless some party just nukes China first to force them join the conflict.

Russia would lose a conventional war anyway, Putin also said that, but he also said that he can do alot of damage with nuclear weapons...Russia have the best air defence by a long shot, S400 and S500 wont let many planes or bombs hit Russia, but they can be destroyed if attacked in huge numbers..SO with a nuclear war Russia can do more damage due to better defence system, but then will lose afterwards, i imagine few bombs on New York area would do 15 million deaths alone, the area is very dense and bombs got very powerfull now

The RoAirforce did not intercept because the drone was fliyng too low , too fast and for too brief a time period in romanian airspace. The Hungarian airforce was alerted by the RoAirforce. The drone flew for a much longer period over Hungary (hungary is flat ground) but for some reason they did not intercept, furthermore it seems that the Hungarian airforce although they detected the drone they did not warn the Croatians about it's trajectory. It's really strange. Anyway, we saw the drone, but NATO was in no position to intercept. It happens all the time in mountainous areas.

*With such a nuclear war the deaths would be much much much higher than 91 mil. It's not just the first impact, but hunger, disease, nuclear fallout, economic collapse, gangs, conventional warfare, biological weapons etc: This would total some 500 million deaths and human advancement would stay still or even fall back for the next 100 years.*

Well, you don't get to see the aftermath here, what it looks like, and how things play out after what would be the complete collapse of civilisation, embedded within a nuclear wasteland..... That's what this scenario leaves you with. It just doesn't detail what happens next, what that means. 100 million dead, the entire Northern hemisphere destroyed in the first few hours, imo isn't downplaying it. That's bad enough.... This would be the total collapse of civilisation of course, which seals the fate of all those who remain.

It didn't even include the aftermath of nuclear fallout, so yes, it's downplaying reality.

It’s just a simulation of a war that is designed to not come. It’s obviously not going to represent reality. Actually, this has yet to happen, so this warplan is fictional based on all war plans that both Russia, US and all other nuclear nations have publicly distributed for each other.

Reading between the lines as to the implied policy recommendations re low-yield nuclear weapons: this simulation simply assumes Russia’s use of a low-yield nuke in the first place, which is precisely what U.S. low-yield nuclear capabilities, including the W-76, are intended to deter; knowing that the US can match Russia up the escalation ladder, with the possibility of leading to general nuclear war, makes Russian employment of a low-yield nuclear weapon less likely, not more.
@RandomCoffee1015 жыл бұрын

China, Iran and DPRK would join Russia in wiping NATO off the map. Turkey might switch sides and also join the ruskies. India and Pakistan will just kill each other. @@cheshirster Read the article. The content is about this: "US analysts believe that Russia may start using preventive nuclear strikes and produces multiple tactical nukes". Ah. So because Russia said they wouldn't do it, they'll never do it. Your logic and homework are flawless. I guess what Putin has been saying recently about using nukes preemptively is kind of odd, but at least he would never logically say it, so I must have imagined it.

Seems somewhat of a 1980's simulation. No Middle East escalation - even though one of the first strikes is Turkey. Guess the Israel thing is too political/sensitive to put into this ? Anyway, good to see that Yorkshire survives. I mean, there's no strike against Flyingdales nor Menwith Hill - and in fact, nothing near the majority of RAF bases. They must also assume the Royal Navy are all away on holiday as they leave the Naval bases alone too. Lets face it, Princeton has done that American thing of assuming 'London' = 'UK'
