Hello Doc , I had unprotected sex around 9th and 10th but i took plan b on 11th 2:00 AM and it was my ovulation date , on 12 th I had sex again and the next day I took plan B again ! After 7 days of ovulation (18th Jan) I experienced Light brown bleeding with mild cramps and backpain ! It took 3 days and it stopped! i expected my period to start on 25th Jan but it's 8 days late now ! I took a pregnancy test on 21st and it was negative . Did you take plan B again after Nov 1? Plan b taken in Oct can affect November period whether or not you are using other BC methods. We can't say when the period will arrive, keep track of your symptoms and repeat the PT after 1 week.

Either is possible and I do recommend doing a PT 2-3 w after sex. You could argue it's a bit early for implantation, but what if there was sex before? The pill can make your periods arrive earlier, later or at the same time. The spotting or bleeding can look similar. So a PT clears up any confusion.

Hi, sorry this is stressing you out - ladies can react quite differently to the pill it can be quite frustrating! I'd recommend, though to see your Dr and check there are no other causes before concluding its a pill effect. Once thats done, and the pill seems the likely cause, the bleeding will settle down - but we generally can't say 'when' as it differs from one woman to another, bleeding for more than 2-3 weeks can sometimes happen. @@217noorakhann8 it's been a bit now but I remember it lasted another week and a half before stopping but it all came back to normal. Although, I also went to the doctor and ended up having a copper IUD installed to not have that happen again. I doubt it affected my hormones because is copper but who knows. Hi, I ovulated a day or two before taking plan B. I started a very light pinkish spotting 7 or 8 days later it was only once in the morning when I wiped. Then it skipped a day and I noticed it again in the morning when I wiped. It skipped another day and I noticed it again that morning and then again that night with it being slightly heavier when I wiped. I thought my period was going to come the next day but it stopped again completely. So I took a pregnancy test but it was negative. Is this normal from taking plan b? I am currently 13/14 DPO.

Hi, please try not to panic - it may be an early period depending on when in your cycle that you took the pill. The best thing will be to do the pregnancy test - wait at least 2 weeks from when you had sex.

Hi, yes this can sometimes happen but its not common. If you've done a pregnancy test and have no other symptoms, you can wait to see if your cycle returns by the next month and see your Dr if it hasn't.

I recently took a plan b pill on April 19 and hour or half an hour after the intercourse, and it wasn’t until the next day that I noticed on the 20th was day one of my fertile window (that same day) and my ovulation day was on the 25th. I’ve been worried because obviously I don’t know if the pill has worked. Yesterday April 27th I started spotting brown discharge but not enough to fill a pad or a liner. I’m confused if this is spotting after the pill has worked or implantation bleeding. I feel like I’m going insane.

Hi Abbey, I understand your anxiety. However while some pregnant women do get a metallic taste in the mouth, it doesn't always mean pregnancy. I'd recommend repeating your test after a week if your period is still delayed. You may discuss with your doctor about a pelvic scan if you persist in having symptoms, but a serum pregnancy test is pretty reliable. Best Wishes.
