Just to encourage someone out there, I saw my period on 24th-27th Dec and had unprotected sex on the 28th dec! Even though I was sure he did withdrawal method but don’t want to take chances, I took contraceptives within 48hrs difference!! My menstrual cycle is 28days which my next period is supposed to come on the 20th of Jan. I was panicking and was so scared did series of home pregnancy test and it came out all negative. I was 11days late. But it later came on the last day of the month on the 31st Jan -4th Feb. sometimes anxiety and hormonal imbalance delays period.

Okay just to help other people out- It was probably my fertile window but I don't keep track of my period so I'm not sure. I took the unwanted 72 pill within 24 hours on 13th June. I didn't have any side effects until about a week later (20th June) I had some bleeding. It wasn't exactly spotting but it wasn't a normal period either. I was worried that it could be implantation bleeding but I read that implantation bleeding is usually lighter and not as common as people would think. I guess it was withdrawal bleeding from the pill. It lasted for about 4 days. My period was supposed to start on 28th June but it didn't come. In fact, I completely missed it. I took 3 tests. One on the fourth day of missing period and one a week after missing it. And another one a few days after that. All negative. I didn't have my period the whole month and I was worried sick. But today, on 28th July, I got my period. So basically I missed my period for a whole month and got it right on time the next month. Hope this helps

This might help someone here. I took plan b twice in January one pill after my period and another before ovulation. my next period was to come on 14th Feb but never came till 29th of March. Some ladies experience cramps after taking the emergency pill. You can do a pregnancy test once its 2-3 weeks after sex to check. If the pain gets severe or you feel more ill, visit a clinic / ED asap.

Hi Brian, as long as she did not vomit within 2-3 hours of taking the pill it's been absorbed. The tummy ache may be a the pill side effect and should only be mild and short-lived.

Hi, plan b can delay your period. But theres no way we can tell if its worked till some days after. Usually a pregnancy test 2/3 weeks after you had unprotected sex, will have the answer. Its reasonable to wait a few weeks (if you dont have symptoms), before speaking to your Dr if the periods are still absent. Please try not to worry, meanwhile.

@@JennellBarrett Hi, when you take it before ovulation, the pill will delay ovulation for about 5 days. Then you will ovulate - it doesn't prevent it. But there are some times of your cycle when you have already ovulated - such as just after your period. So your cycle is likely resuming and you will ovulate - but we can't predict when it may happen.

Hello Brenda, If you had sex 4/5 days ago, it’s too early for a pregnancy test. These symptoms could be a side effect of the pill - but if the pain is severe and getting worse please go to the hospital. If they are quite mild, they are likely from the pill but you should watch for your actual period around the usual time. If that period is late by more than 7 days, then do a pregnancy test. So my girlfriend had been taking Plan B but then switched to Julie EC then she was bleeding a week after taking the Julie EC like every other time with Plan B, but her period hasn’t come for 13 days when expected day. I am just curious if it could be the effect of switching one brand to another.

Hi lady I want to share my experience with the plan b pill last period was on 21nov and I take the pill before my ovulation on the 28nov and I spotted Brown blood a week after taking the pill and I do 6 in blood pregnancy tests on different time all were negative and do an ultrasound twice and all normal so my period late a month and I'm so scared I try to take so herbs like ( Indian Costus, Vitex agnus-castus) twice in the morning and night for three days so is maybe help hormone balance today finally on 26 Jan my period come I hope this helps 🙏🤍

Plan b can delay periods sometimes. You can be patient, and usually, the cycle will return to normal unless there's another cause of delayed periods, in which case you should see your doctor.

Hello Ndia, The effect of the pill on your periods can depend on which half of your cycle you took it, how many times you used the EC pill in the last cycle, and whether you are using any other hormone like regular contraception and so on. Did you experience any bleeding after taking the pill in December? To be quite certain, you can ask your doctor for a blood pregnancy test (especially if you have pregnancy symptoms like breast tenderness or nausea). If that is negative, and the period hasn't arrived by the end of January, you should have a chat with your doctor to address any other causes. Best Wishes!

Hi, it could be an effect of the pill. Usually, the period should appear in the next cycle if not before. If your tests are negative, you have no other symptoms and do not take any additional hormones, wait till the second month to see if the period returns.
