Very interesting conversation. I agree with “ Dubai is a no go with children unless you have a very very good package .” Even then I still would prefer my child to study in Anglo sphere. Mainly in uk for future prospects. Social norms and all that. In uk Free education Free parks Free libraries Free museums Free healthcare (yes it’s not great in some sectors but it’s still free) Unemployment benifits Child benefits Disability benefits Etc etc too may to name We are a generous country. The social state in UK is very strong. Personally I am a higher rate tax payer. Don’t get any of the benefits. I was considering just moving to Dubai and trying to live there while my family lives in uk. We have a home here and comfortable life. But think there are many factors I have not considered. This episode has revealed that there is more to it the. Meets the eye. There is only one thing which makes me wana move to Dubai and that is “weather”. Uk weather is not good during winter months.

People migrate to west from South Asia not just for money in fact it is true that one might save more in Mid east Ex pat but the migration to west is for diff reasons for some it is to work in latest R&D, to work with large coportations/ to have work life balance , to be in a multicultural democracy ..

1. I moved from Canada to the middle east and the cost of living here as well is almost the same as Canada now despite having $10,000+ monthly income here 2. Dubai has no jobs. Its all Saudi projects that we are working on, from Dubai 3. When Canada takes taxes they also give you unemployment benefits, child benefits, and education covered
@WaliKhanEnglish8 ай бұрын
Moving to UAE for $10K without child education benefit will not serve you well coming from Canada. Key is to negotiate properly. Moreover, its the entrepreneurs who can leverage more than the job seekers due to tax benefits - specially the once who do not rely on geography for their income streams. We have to understand - as I mentioned in the video as well, Dubai is a very small city compared to countries like UK, Canada etc - so the competition for top jobs is also fierce.

UAE is dog eat Dog if you can survive good make money and get out but looking at rentals and school fees is it really worth it compared to Canada or Australia

In Dubai an educated guy with 10 years easily earns AED 50k+ bonus per month with health covered and reaches about 150k per month or more at N-2
@WaliKhanEnglish8 ай бұрын
that's generalization.
@kachrachi8 ай бұрын
Not really. Those are top 2% jobs. I know people who earn 100k+ in Dubai, but it's not easy..

And after retirement where do they go?

The average income in Dubai is more or less 10k aed without any benefit you mentioned. This is also something one has to be lucky to get. Please consider the actual statistical data before making such videos, you can easily misguid someone living in west with such videos and he/she will end up in a bad situation. The kind of social welfare supper one receives in bad situations in west cannot be compared with dubai for sure. (Living in Germany, have lived in dubai)

Everything is clearly mentioned - even I mentioned white skinned as seen doing 15K AED jobs. Where is the confusion?
@ImranBerlin8 ай бұрын
@WaliKhanEnglish no confusion but missing facts. How many people in dubai get jobs with the kind of packages you mentioned? Exceptional cases are everywhere but your videos should more focus on the real job market of dubai, the average salary, the sort of challenges people face when the situation turns the other side. Your videos are more focused on small fraction of population in dubai who earn exceptional amount of money and live luxurious

@@ImranBerlin Why don't average person move up the ladder? Every average person has to start from somewhere. I need people to open their minds for what is available and not confined being average.
@ImranBerlin8 ай бұрын
@WaliKhanEnglish for sure I agree with that but that applies to every country. My concern with dubai is what is there for you when you lose your job, or your business gets busted the only option is to go back to your country then how could you call the country your home? The feeling only comes when the system owns you and supports you as a citizen of the country. In dubai, people spend years and remain expats and leave when the time comes.
