Plane said something ignorant and rather than owning up and saying lesbians and cis women are a part of the drag community, she kinda just talked about herself. Even if some people are deliberately tactless about Plane's pronouns in drag just to offend her which isn't okay, there's also a reason people are pointing out that she's a cis man. It did affect her conception of Chapel Roan; there are tons of men who gatekeep drag from women because they don't believe women can authentically participate. I also thought that Plastique was chickening her way out of this runway category, but after thinking about it some more, I think Plastique's áo dài actually hits the brief! The áo dài is Vietnamese formal wear that would be appropriate for many events, including funerals. I think one of the reasons why a lot of us don't think it matches the brief at first is because it's not the typical black funeral attire we're used to seeing. But I think it's also important to note that black isn't universally seen as a mourning colour. In Vietnam and in many other countries, mourners will wear white as a symbol of their mourning. I think Plastique's runway also challenges us to think about the assumptions that we make on what we see as appropriate formalwear, and how those are normally based on americentric perspectives.

So as other people had posted before, white is the color of mourning in east/south east asia, but the color purple in vietnam also stands for fidelity (chung thuỷ) from a wife to her husband. We see this alot on married women. i think she went a bit too deep with the vietnamese tradition for most people to understand even for most vietnamese. The mixing between the color of death and fidelity signifies the Idea of being loyal and fidelity to the passing of her husband. But i do agree with some people that it looks too grand to be an outfit for mourning.

I'm hearing that people have been disparaging Angeria which is wild to me because everything she's said and done and won has been justified to me. But I didn’t see any where people wore like such elaborate garments I wish they would’ve given her time to explain it more or maybe she just didn’t explain it enough It’s literally the most beautiful I’ve ever seen so I wanted to hear more about it
@AliceBunny054 ай бұрын
yes I did see people saying the one thing that's off is that its rather grand, but honestly.. it's drag. Some traditional garments do need the little bump up when you're looking to consistently serve the level of drag she has on the runway.

i dunno if plane was trying to be funny or not but it ofc backfired. yes nobody should put words in her mouth and some people are definitely taking it too far but that's how most fans of popular artists/celebs in general act. especially an upcoming queer star like chapelle will have many die-hard fans who feel represented by her and her work and will stand ten toes down behind her (of course, taking it too far at times just to defend her). and yes, while plane should definitely not be dealing with all of that backlash, she should still own up to it since comments like that do essentially exclude women from drag. at the end of the day it's just a comment that shouldn't have been made at all, it made no sense to me.

Jorgeous. She needed volume in her runway. Her jacket and hair was flat & it made her look even smaller ….. like an emoji?

I'm thinking Bussy might need to do a bit more research on these runways and the brief before she gives a first impression rating. Not the first time she's misinterpreted Plastique's runway.

I KNEW I disliked Plane Jane for a reason 😭 Nobody is THAT nasty and mean towards other people if they’re just doing a bit or playing a character! I clocked her nasty personality the SECOND she started running her mouth on season 16 🙄

The queens all did great in the acting challenge but nobody could save whatever the fuck that writing was 💀 And did the queens all get told to look awkwardly in the distance? All of them were looking at the same spot which was neither at Ru or the camera and it was so strange.

Honestly, l feel like Angie’s choice makes so much sense! Gottmik cut her off already, so it’s a little bit of payback. But also with how many performance challenges they’d had in a row it was about time for another design challenge, meaning a likely top 2 of Plastique and Gottmik (they’re on a whole different level and Roxxxy is the only one who could maybe match them). In this scenario it’d be smarter to block Mik (who has yet to lose a design challenge) to prevent her from reaching 3 badges and tying with Angie while Plastique/Roxxy would just be held at three badges if either were blocked. This was a move to keep Gottmik out of the finale and secure Angeria since it’s a top 3 this season.

angeria is on a streak, i know that's right!! they won't be calling her delusional when she wins the crown from under them lol. and plastique knocks it out of the park every week, it's so unfair she came out this week and my sister and i almost burst into tears, it was so beautiful 😂😍

Idk why Plane would say all that not thinking she would get any responses in return when she tweeted it publicly. She coulda kept those feelings to herself. Also very rude to Chappell to just tweet lies about her so it’s hilarious Plane is trying to say the same about people lying about her
