There were a lot more rear-mounted engined aircraft then than there are now, this was also before small regional jets became popular. They used to use bigger jets on short routes back then or regional turboprops but those have fallen out of favor.

Great vlog as always! At 0:40 we see N708AW. That is a 737-112! Del 10/69 to Singapore airlines. AW sold the 737 in 04/90. Good job!

I remember back then that the planes were way noisier back then than today . Today is like Violin compare to the Drum 90's-60's Jets. What Beautiful Airplanes back then and now.

Those TWA MD80s' were probably the old PHX-JFK flights that TWA operated back during the mid-to-late 1990s', having replaced the L1011s' that were used and later the 767-200s'.
