Took the same trip, with my Brother, over 20 years ago, only we also visited an Aboriginal site (at the top of the rainforest) where we were treated to a Dream Time re-enactment of how our world (according to Aboriginal folklore) began - with a Cassowary Egg.. 🥚🌐 It was great to have visited The Earth's oldest rainforest! 👌 ✨ Brings back some very fond, emotional memories.

The problem is that his dad just points the camera at him and always asks simple yes/no questions. If he said something like "What has been the highlight of your trip?" or "How do you think Cairns nightlife compares to the UK", he might just say a bit more than "Yeah". So - in closing - it's dad's fault, not Blair's.

Greetings from Canada! 🇨🇦 I was in Cairns just three weeks ago! I did the Kuranda trip in the opposite direction and enjoyed the many Rainforestation activities there. I was on a different excursion to the Great Barrier Reef. Overall, two very enjoyable days and I was just as exhausted as you two were afterwards. I flew to Cairns from Uluru, which was the highlight of my Australian adventure!

This brought back so many memories. Me, my wife and daughter were in Cairns in 2008, stayed in the same hotel and did Kuranda and the reef. We still talk about it regularly. You and Blair will do the same in the future I'm sure. Thanks for another good one

I enjoyed this, brought back memories, I have visited Cairns twice before, both times the barrier reef and Kuranda, but the 2nd visit was with my wife & we also visited a croc farm a few miles away by car (car hire is easy, they drive on left like us). Must visit again before my long distance travelling days are over. Top destination, well worth the effort in getting there.

Great stuff again!! Did the circular tour in 2003 - the other way round I think. Upon arrival at Kuranda in the searing heat a couple of doors down was a hot pie shop serving about 20 different varieties. There were three women working and the place was packed! Aussies love their pies. Never got to the outer reef but went to Green Island which was great. Looking forward to the next instalment - been to Uluru but not Alice. Need to go before it's too late.

Thank you for this video, it makes me think fondly of when I was there in July 1989. Carins and the area was one of greatest travel experiences in my life. I took the train to Kuranda both ways into the rainforest. I did a day out snorkling on the Great Barrier Reef, saw beautiful fish, a giant clam, coral of all kinds likely much better then than today as global warming damaging it. I also took a Land Cruiser trip to an 'edge of the outback' run like 75 miles inland, toured some caves, saw where some of the stones used in the then new Australian Capitol building in Canberra. I also went swimming on a beach north of town - one that had topless women 🤑 Earlier I was in Sydney, drove through Canberra, the SE coast to Melborne, then inland through Canberra back to Sydney.

I’ve been out to the Great Barrier Reef, albeit quite a few years ago. My wife and I snorkelled and fed the fish. My son scuba-dived. I landed on a coral cay to photograph seabirds. It was pretty horribly commercialised back then, but looks even worse now. I enjoyed visiting Cairns, but even that looks spoilt by tourism. Two or three times, I visited a place called the Mareeba Wetlands a few miles north of Cairns, which brief recent research suggests no longer exists. Along with maybe one or two locations in the USA and India, it was the most interesting place in respect of wildlife I have ever been - and I’m quite well-travelled. I had considered returning to Queensland, but after seeing your video, I don’t think I’ll bother. Thanks for the heads-up. I hope you both enjoyed it, but I think I’ll stick with my memories.

When Blair was sitting without a hat and shirt, it was going one of two ways, he would get burned and Scott would keep quiet about it or Scott would mention it. I think the latter was a good way to go, so many don't understand how sneakily burny that QLD sun is. The poor lad.

Ah, memories of nearly 38 years ago. My new wife and I had travelled from Scotland to Australia for a holiday at a time when not many people went half way round the world for a holiday. We did a coach tour up the east coast which ended with a few days in Cairns. Naturally we did the Barrier Reef tour and also the Kuranda Railway. I don’t think the cable car was a thing back then. I distinctly remember the Barron Falls photo opportunity as there was no water whatsoever falling. The thing was bone dry. I took a photo of the dry rocks anyway! Good times.
