I think the hotel issue may be that the park closes for the day, and having guests stay inside the park would mean they wouldn't pay the next day. I don't know if the specified restaurants won't be in the game like they did for hotels.
@Petpatrol23 ай бұрын
I mean, it's an interesting thought, that it's because of the timescale, but I don't think it's about paying for the next day, since in most planet coaster parks, guests pay per ride rather than for a park ticket. A hotel shouldn't have any effect on that. And if it was because of the park ticket that would be a n easy fix - calculate it into the park ticket cost. I think what you're syaing makes more sense in the sense that now because day/night cycles matter more and take much longer, hotels won't be a constnat stream of income, they'll only actually be doing anything once every few hours. Which admittedly is an issue. Although not an unsolvable one, I feel like.

I wish there was a way to instantly see when your coaster was pulling way too many G and not wait till the test had finished running. Or something where it doesn’t just finish or smooth the ride but suggests a “safe” version. I might have played it too casually as to know how to avoid it having way too many G, but it really killed the fun when however often I tried, I just couldn’t get certain coasters to work. Particularly when I wanted to incorporate specific loops or 90° drops, I’d end up with a sad, boring coaster because no matter the breaks no matter suddenly I had 10 lateral G while not being able to actually finish the next loop at the same time. So it would always be back to prefab or the same coasters that I knew are easy to build.

The list of things that have been added and improved is so much longer than the list of concerning things for me. We've seen a few Planco creators play PC2 for a couple hours now and they all spent that time on discovering new features. That makes me confident that this sequel will be packed with new stuff and a lot more to discover. There definitely will be some disappointments, but there's no such thing as a perfect simulation game anyways. Steam workshop tags won’t be an issue with planco 2 because we’re getting the frontier workshop from console edition, which only allows blueprints in the blueprints section, parks in the park section ect. The coaster selection UI isn’t as bad as you think as long as you use the filters and categories provided to you, most will have 10 rides at most per tab so you can memorise the positions, also the names frontier comes up with are pretty distinct so it should be fine.

Nice video! About the hotels and restaurants... it would be amazing if they add the system they have in zoo for it. As in having tables or blocks that one can decorate (so they arent such massive as that basic shops and restaurant/hotel blocks where people just dissapear instead of you seeing then actually have dinner or go to a room). Having a front desk where the guests check in for the hotel or to get a table. If they put a system in that also registers tables that are filled with guests meybe they can even add waiters? I mean a whole DLC about hotels and restaurants could be very amazing. I think it would do credit to everyone that ever build a realistic restaurant or hotel. Add hotelrooms with decorated furniture and such. Then one needs to hire waiters, desk people, room cleaners etc. If that is the thing that comes; I will have all the patience in the world for it :D Maybe that would even be working for things like midwaygames and will also be added later. When it comes to DLC's I didnt like the franchise DLC's they where to specific and I've not touched more than 2 pieces from each of them. So I hope they dont do that anymore. I mean how many pieces of a monster or kit car do we need? I am a sandbox builder but I can see your point about the option to just not load items from DLC's you dont have. As the only reason I've those 3 packs is that for a contest I hosted people added items from those packs. I dont know what I would prefere; mixed DLC's (decor and rides) or spil DLC's. With the list of rides that are already in I wouldnt mind a few deco packs. Sure throw in a few rides but with the lack of TMTK for now I would choose the deco packs over ride packs as for now. I do hope that TMTK will become and option. Maybe just flag the parks that use it to protect the console players? I think I will miss that mostly in the new game; tmtk. People who know me might actually laugh their ass off as I end my 5 cents in this reaction on your amazing video

Thanks so much! I appreciate the comment! i'm really hoping to see hotels and restaurants get a glow-up, and hopefully also some levels where you actually have to build them. I don't think TMTK necessairly has too much to do with console (maybe it does, idk), for me i figured it's like with planco 1, where they added it as the game's last update to extend it's life. they didn't release it before so it won't get in the way of DLC sales. I imagine something similar might happen with planco 2

At first I thought "oh geez another PC2 complaint video" BUT... your info is SPOT ON, and the choices the DEVS have made on choice of rides only in the DELUXE edition (maybe a DLC later) and lack of typical themes you find in 90% of the world's parks - western, castles, etc. Really enjoyed your video and the insight. It feels like they are prepping for a mass cash grab. So sad. And I wish they would have made the peeps a little more realistic. Anyway... great video.
@Petpatrol23 ай бұрын
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it! I STRONGLY disagree with the cashgrab comment though, in fact that's exactly what the last thing on my list was about! I believe the stuff they got wrong is either for technical reasons (such as guests not being more realistic because with thousands of guests in each park that would raise requirements for the game dramatically or cause lag while making it look less whimsical), or just mistakes by someone who didn't realize how much their choice would upset the consumer, or saw there's no other feasible way to do it (like waterslide physics). and so many people are complainig about the lack of the original planco themes, but, like, they already showed how much the existing themes can be repurposed - they made a lovely scifi area out of the quatic theme, all you need for western theme is wooden building pieces and scactuses - which are more than likely all still in the game, and castles are litteraly just... stone buildings with pointy tops. The only thing we'll relaly be missing from the fantasy theme is dragons and witches, and personally i'm not gonna lose any sleep over that. All of planco 1's themes should still be possible, they'll just be a little less "ready out of the box, just plug and play" than they were before. I really think people are blowing it out of proprotion, personally!

17:21 For me, the obvious flat rides I want (I don’t really care for many other flats outside of these) are the Vekoma Madhouse. This is probably the ride I want most. Yes, ride, out of all of them, period. Yes, for me, even above these often requested coaster models. May have something to do with that I’m very, very sure, we’ll get to see our Intamin Blitzes, RMC Raptors and Mack Xtreme Spinners soon enough. If they’re not at launch, they’ll be in DLCs that people will be eager to buy. I would just to have a madhouse and just customise the room on the inside of the new customising tools. I’d also love for the Tower of Terror to return. We got it in PlanCo 1. It lends itself well to theming. And I want it back. The last one, to complete the pattern of flat rides that lend themselves well for intricate theming, is the Intamin Dynamic Motion Stage. As of now, no ride of this model has been opened. That’s going to change on Halloween, with Danse Macabre at Efteling. Efteling is my home park, so naturally I’d love to have ride types from that park (I’d love the powered coaster and the metal bobsleds). If you don’t know what this thing can do. It’s a massive platform that can spin, with individual carriages that can spin too. Sounds like teacups, right? It can do more. It can also tilt, heave and drop. Danse Macabre looks so awesome and I can’t wait for it to open. With the tilting, heaving and dropping, you can play with elevation. And with the rotation, you can direct the gazes of your guests. I’d love love love this ride as well. Even though there’s only one in the world, it could be so versatile and so fun to theme. And Frontier have made far more obscure inclusions than this. Maybe with the new sequencing tools, we could get more in depth flat ride sequencing. Though this does seem like a pretty intricate feature which I would expect to be in the game. In the first game, you could alternate between cookie cutter elements on your flats. It would be cool you could like change rotation of certain rides the same way you can do with the X-dimension coasters, where this blue and white arrow pops up. And since I’m going on about Efteling rides, I wouldn’t mind the flying island to return. More types of observation towers would give you nice ways to customise the skyline, especially with the new ride customisation tools. No longer would you just have to use the Pagode from Efteling directly. Rather, you could just theme the observation towers yourself.

Many wonderful suggestions, including some I didn't now about! I gotta say, as someone whos' never been on a madhouse ride it's surprising to me how much people seem to love them. I really have to agree with you on the #6 complaint. Along with the fact that this is 100% not a DLC, that's way underestimating the size of this game and what it's doing to expand on Planet Coaster's mechanics, I also think that people are too picky about the graphics. We have to remember that even though this game is 8 years newer than the first, it's still a complex simulation game (even moreso than Planet Coaster 1 with mechanics such as the weather, ride customization with animating parts, etc.), so having far superior graphics could mean a significant hit to the game's general performance. It's surprising to me that ultra realistic top-of-the-line graphics are still a priority to people after the fiasco that was, for example, Cities Skylines 2. That game tried for a massive graphical leap and, as a result, ended up being extremely laggy on even some of the best hardware. Great video by the way, it's nice to see someone considering the good and the bad instead of just leaning to one side!

My biggest worry is that they are locking the pre-order items away, As there is currently no DLC extra for those, which usually a sign they stay locked away. Which like you have said will then cause issues later when they are used in a park from a creator, I guess one way around it would be let it still be used even if you dont own that DLC. So download a creators park, use it within the confines of that and only that...... but that becomes a tricky one I guess. As then poeple could just use every assest to unlock them. Altho maybe have it where its used, but if you dont own it, you cant move it, if you delete it, its gone. Its a hard issue to be sure and not easy to get around, but as it stands those pre-order items are locked behind pre-order, beyond that tuff, which is a shame. I do wonder if they will let you import parks from the current one, as it looks the same, I am sure they could create a importer or some sort. And you then go round fix any bugs/glitches. And then carry on eidting it with new tools and features.

Don't get me wrong, I love back to the future and was happy to buy the delorean go karts, but at the same time I still raised my eyebrow at it. So anything without appeal to the majority of players will just leave a bunch of us feel pressured into buying something that we wouldn't otherwise want. I agree that as far as unusual rides go, this would be nice! However it's 1. so uncommon and 2. SO big and space-consuming that it would likely be the largest flat ride in the game, and people are already complaining that the rides in the game are too big. (looking at you, star flyer...), so it might not get people particularly hyped up.

I know water slide physics were your #1 concern in the previous video, but I really feel this could kill the hype within minutes after trying it out that it would be worth being loud enough and not stop raising the issue till either frontier fixes it or address concerns. It would suck to be so exited to play with the game just to be let down 10 mins later for the bad water slide physics that are way worse than RCT 3 soaked. It will be the first thing I’ll try out, and if it feels worse than RCT3, I think I’ll refund my Deluxe version.
@Petpatrol23 ай бұрын
Well, as i mentioned in my previous video, i really think you need to go into it with the assumption that it won't be fixed. First of all, they don't have time to fix it, and they already showed the tiktok stream as the "final version" of the game, which still had broken waterslide physics and those dang boxy shaped inner tube slides. They're %99.5 absolutely still going to be there on release, and they're probably not ever going to be patched out in the future because that'll break any previous builds and saves. BUT. having said that. Is that really such a dealbreaker that you should get a refund for it? Imagine for a second that planco2 had come out with everything that it currently has, except... inner tube slides didn't exist. they were never added. it was just body slides. would the fact that they act like the bobsled coaster really bother you so much that you wouldn't get the game? I mean, probably not, right? It'd be annoyign that there's no inner tube sldies in the game, but... Not so much that i wouldn't still want the game for all it's other features. Well, that's how i intend to treat it most of the time. I'm just... not going to build the tube slides in most cases. And enjoy the rest of the game for what it is. I suggest you do the same!
@motanium3 ай бұрын
@@Petpatrol2 A huge part of the interest in building water slides, is to test out the physics and make wacky stuff as well as realistic. Do I have to be careful with banks to prevent guests from flying off? Do I have to be careful with hills where guests could fly off? Do I have to be careful with putting tight corners together, as guest could smash their heads and make the slide more dangerous? Will it matter if I make a massive drop so that guests in the 'flush piece' get way more rotations? Or if I do entries to slow, will guests just enter the flush piece and slide slowly out and be disappointed? To me, it is a big deal, and given they market the sequel as waterparks being a big part of the sequel. Getting excited to build a waterpark, just for the slides to be 'pre-animated', would mean I would probably just build one, figure out there is nothing out there to explore, and just not be worth it to me. And given that I pre-order, I want frontier to know that I want water slides, with physics, so if they don't deliver on that in a way that can satisfy my imagination and curiosity, I want to let them know by making it the reason for me to refund, and that if it's fixed later on, then I'll be happy to buy the game once the part that really caters to me is ready. I really want to have fun, and I'm glad I'm not alone in feeling this way. I really want for this to be THE theme park game, and really spend hours making slides and then enjoying them.

My ONLY serious complaint is still with physics related ride types and with the addition of water slides it makes it that much more apparent. Side friction and bobsled coasters should crash with negative vertical g's over -0.1. I had this problem with planco 1 and its made even worse with slides being added to that list. Slides and bobsled coaster should also be susceptible to excessive laterals throwing out the side. These ride types should also have that in mind when determining ride stats.

I never said it was never useful to anybody, I'm sure some people did awesome things with it, just like i'm sure the firehouse pieces form the ghostbusters DLC were relaly useful to a lot of people. What i'm saying is that the vast majority of players are not people who have enough of a connection with those franchises to want to buy them just for the franchise they're in, and they don't have enough content to appeal to the majority people who AREN'T into that franchise. So even if some of the peopel buying the munsters pack can make cool stuff with it, it doesn't hcange the fact that most people won't WANT to buy it in the firstplace, but they'll feel obligated to buy it becasue otherwise it locks them out of a whole bunch of content.

I'll be honest - personally - I don't! I know it's an unpopular opinion, but I just think elaborate theming was so much more impressive beofre the toolmakers kit. Because you knew everything you saw was repurposed from something already in the game, so if you saw something that you didn't know was possible - that was impressive as hell! With the toolmaker's kit I foudn that the fact you can practiclally import anything made whatever I saw look less impressive, because it jsut felt like soemone 3D modeled it rather than cobble it together. It's kind of like how CGI in movies can make cool effects seem less impressive.

I’m not sure what people are looking for when they say it looks the same. What are they expecting it to look like? I would like to hear a description. I’d LOVE to see the Hexentanz ride in the game too. Knott’s Berry Farm used to have one and it was my favorite flat ride. My last ride on it was quite memorable. The normal cycle was over, the lap bar popped up and I got out…only no one else did. Because they could not, their bars were still locked. Then the ride started up again! I QUICKLY ran to the exit so I did not get hit. I had heard they were having issues with the ride and guess I got to experience that firsthand. It wasn’t long after that that it was yanked out. Another ride from that park with similar electrical issues were the Intamin parachute ride which had a mind of their own. I would like to see them in the game too. An additional coaster that I think is currently missing is the Steeplechase coaster. Really need that for my Knott’s recreation. As for cattle-pen queue lines, there isn’t anything to fix. They are there. They showed the menu for queue lines last week on their Steam livestream. There are three separate buttons to build certain ways. The middle button was the old Planco1 way. This is how you’ll do them. You could see them in the TiKTok video stream they did over the weekend.

looked the same - well, like i said, overall i'm happy with the way planet coaster 2 looks, and i think there's more reasons for it to look the same than look any different. BUT to get into a complaining mindset for a second - by "not looking the same" i would probably be looking at anything that's stylized - the way guests look, the colors (which some people complain are too saturated or whatever. but... duh it's an amusement park game of course they use strong colors, it's part of the vibe), assets being identical (like, if they were TRYING to make irt look different they could maybe remake some of the less popular assets like the star flyer, etc), the lack of 3D grass etc. I'm very HAPPY at all the benefits looking the same gives this game, I'm just saying, I think that's what the people complaining it looks the same have in mind. hexentanz - that's the one i rode too, and i've been in lvoe with that ride ever since! I've only ridden it once, like 21 years ago, but it was so much fun i still remember it! It's why i'm hoping to see it! I wouldn't necessarily *MIND* seeing a steeplechase coaster, in the same sense that any new additional coaster type is a bonus, but i have to admit as far as coaster types to get made, that's probably one of the least exciting ones for me personally, because they're very limited in what they can do and they're not very common anymore nowadays. But... I'm confused, knott's recreation? does... knott's have a steeplechase nowadays? cattlepen - yup, that's why i didn't include it in the list. even before i saw them in the tiktok i knew there'd proabbyl be some way to make them, so i wasn't worried.

@@Petpatrol2 Knott’s doesn’t have one today, but they were the first park (Only 1 of 2) to build a modern day steeplechase ride in the form of motorcycles which later became a soapbox ride which was much better and safer for guests.
