2 жыл бұрын

This episode is about the waterfront area of Aerobats, providing a breadth of public spaces - including an onion domed bandstand, various viewpoints and a building for a future souvenir store.
I decided not to divide this video into chapters, as I didn't see any responses about it. Let me know what you prefer!
That said, this video can still be split up into parts, broadly:
00:12 The bandstand / gazebo
06:46 The waterfront
12:46 The bridge
20:05 The souvenir store building

A note on movement through parks, as you were talking about it. There was a brief moment in time back in the early days of Disneyland where at any one time in frontierland you would be able to see guests riding the mine train through natures wonderland (big thunder wasn't built yet), people in canoes in the river, pony trekking, riding the train and walking around! So much movement and so many different types of vehicles must have made that whole area look so dynamic and interesting.

As someone who has made many, many interiors in your buildings I can only say one thing... good luck my friend :D All jokes aside, this series is wonderful and it's one of the few I watch on my TV because I don't want to be distracted by anything else. It's incredible. Downright incredible.

I love that you are mindful of so many factors that go into building a realistic space, especially when it comes down to crowd flow and accessibility. You're attention to detail is unparalleled. Plus it's just so much fun thinking about those things! Like a puzzle :) I once built a super large hotel in Minecraft with an adjacent parking garage and I remember researching what the laws were for how many required handicap parking spaces there need to be, and including those where they needed to go in my build! It's crazy how sometimes it seems like real life designers of spaces like that don't always seem to consider all of those factors like they should lol

Can't say I can't struggle with it either, to this day it's one of the biggest challenges. But it's well worth taking your time to imagine things, test ideas, and map out how you want to lay out a park. You can always change details, but the good layout is a foundation for everything else!

Yet another wonderful episode! Always so looking forward not only to see the progress to the ride (/park? I'm hype for it), but the lessons these episodes give me. I strongly doubt that anyone watching this video will walk away with having learned nothing. The way you explain composition and how to achieve a great composition might seem a bit abstract, but that only adds to the vibe of the video. Looking forward to the next one!

This build truly fascinates me. It's an amazing composition of buildings and a waterfront that gives me strong disney sea vibes,but somehow also feels totally original and new. How you manage to come up with theming as rich, detailed and realistic (for parks that are disney or universal budget) I can't even understand. You are truly a master at your art silv and I think Disney Imagineering could really use your help in a time where every attraction is based on IPs and there is no big originality involved anymore. With the exception of parks like shanghai, hongkong and tokyo obviously that still get new original stuff,because they aren't directly managed by disney.

I've definitely been thinking of getting back on Twitch (or maybe even YT) lately! Only drawbacks are that I really build very slowly (timelapses are sped up + have parts cut out), and I'm actually ahead of what I'm showing in video's so I'd be streaming spoiler material.

Once again amazing work Silv. The composition on the waterfront really adds another level to this area which works so good (really love the addition of that lowered area at the water edge, very simple but so effective) In general, composition has always been one of your biggests assets which you always get perfect. It's not much of a surprise that a lot of time off-camera goes into getting the composition right. I completely understand that for youtube videos, you want to focus on the building aspect. However, I think that for one video or so (or twitch livestream or whatever), it would be very nice too see you think and experiment on the composition and share your thought process there. Not only would that be very interesting and fun to watch, but it could also be very educational for a lot of PlanCo players.

It means a lot to hear that from you, always happy to get constructive criticism from you too though ;) As for livestreams, I've been thinking of becoming a bit more active on Twitch again. I might, but first I want to speed up my video releases a little bit more, I think.

Honestly it's insane how much detail has gone into the area surrounding this single ride already. Can't wait to see what it'll look like when it's finished and part of a greater park area. The moment I heard you talking about a centerpiece show I instantly started looking up if anybody has even gotten close yet to custom firework effects for the game. Sadly, seems there's very little modding progress being made to the game apart from the TMTK pieces. To me that's still one of the most underwhelming parts of Planet Coaster, everything in this game lets us get pretty close to realistic themepark settings. But the fireworks in the game are just not good. We had better fireworks made in the fireworks editor in RCT3 by the vPyro community and companies.
@Silvarret
@Silvarret 2 жыл бұрын
RCT3's fireworks editor still holds up today, the things people are able to make in it are truly amazing. Combined with the good nighttime lighting and great water texture, I think RCT3 fireworks videos still look miles ahead of Planet Coaster. Sadly I think I'll be limiter to PlanCo fireworks for this one, it is what it is.
