I think Phantasialand does really great with theming and the track doesn't really disturb that theming for me. Black Mambas in particular just fits in so well with all the landscaping and it really looks like a snake in those trenches (also, B&M invert track is sexy af). Klugheim is basically 90% coaster track and 10% actual theming, but it still works for me. Wuzetown hides most of the coasters really well.
@kybo83424 жыл бұрын
I think the tracks in Klugheim also kind of act like theming because it "hugs" the houses and the stone walls, it fits perfect it gives it that steampunkish feel.
@wolfieeeee2564 жыл бұрын
Black Mamba just makes me think it's a really black long snake. I guess they could even theme the top side of the track on invert coasters if they wanted.

@@wolfieeeee256 bit harder because the track vibrates, but definitely doable.

@@kybo8342 I agree with the first part, but "Steampunk"? Have you been in the same Klugheim as me? :-) (Klugheim is part of the Mystery area in Phantasialand and was inspired by Viking culture. Rookburgh, Phantasialands next themed area, will be Steampunk-themed)

This is where imagineering begins. Thank you for this marvel of coaster design Silvarret and your attention to detail. The coaster ride seems unique. I get the sensation of soaring like a hawk , wheeling through the sky which can ultimately complement the usual looping and high-g turns of most coaster experiences.

I mean technically Nemesis at Alton Towers the entire track is the themeing, surrounding the station are these big bones that morph into track pieces as well. So I dont know of this really counts to what you're talking about but it's one coaster i can think that does incorporate the track into the themeing

RMC raptor/T-rex track seems to have a ton of theming potential to me, given it's just a giant metal line of color. It's probably been done plenty in PlanCo but I'd love to see more done with it in real life. Bobsleds also get theming by default and it's sad they're dying out. Especially since I haven't been on any yet!
@Silvarret4 жыл бұрын
Bobsleds are a good mention!! Such a shame they never caught on.
@EVILBUNNY284 жыл бұрын
In the world's current situation it's not very likely that a T-rex will go ahead any time soon. I think RMC may have even discontinued the concept because it's not viable in terms of cost. The sheer amount of material that goes into a T-rex track compared to a regular B&M Box/Intamin truss is just insane. It looks like RMC will just be sticking to the raptor. Maybe there's another way to fit 2 seats per row on a raptor track? Edit: I maybe even seem to recall RMC officially calling it quits on a T-rex ever being built

The only one in my opinion that really breaks the immersion is Primeval Whirl at Animal Kingdom, especially when compared to Expedition Everest at the other end of the park. Everything about it just screams "temporary installation" to me.

Has there ever been an attempt at evening out the ratio between queue line and exit path? It seems likely that many waiting for seating could be repeat riders with only high initial quantity being after park opening. I suppose theme park games don't make use of exit platforms as well, limiting those boarding and disembarking to a single space? There must be a way to better pace the numbers of customers waiting to ride.

On the topic of unthemed track breaking immersion, You reminded me of a really cool KZbinr by the name of JakeC who created an awesome Donkey Kong style "jumping" minecart track. He hid the track of the trains, and placed a fake one beneath it, one that make it look like the minecart is jumping through the air. It's quite hard to explain but as soon as you see it you'll understand. As for other ride's track ruining emersion, what about Symbolica at Efteling, or Disney Land Paris' "Ratatouille: L'Aventure Totalement Toquée de Rémy", basically any type of trackless dark ride?
