I've always found Planet Coaster to be less of a management game and more a builder's game. For management, something like Parkitect feels more the vibe and harkens back to the reigning champions (RCT and RCT2) more than most others. As someone who probably enjoys management more, and doesn't have the time or resources to invest in building, I'll always lean towards Parkitect and RCT/RCT2/OpenRCT2 more, which is not to say there aren't fun building mechanics in those games. Thankfully, there's a ton of ways to get creative in those great management sims. I'll have to check out Indoorlands, though. It seems like a interesting contender for my time.

Interesting. I absolutely love Parkitect, but I mostly focus on the building and decorating part. I think the constraints of building on a grid and only having simple pieces to work with makes for a great building game where you don't need to spend hours on something just for it to look decent. It makes building stuff a lot less daunting.

Now that i've finished the video I wanted to say great job breaking them down I really enjoyed your take on the various games in this super fun genre. I came across your channel about a month ago but saw you hadn't uploaded in a while so thought perhaps you'd gone dormant. Was really happy to see this upload and it's a good one. Thanks so much for making it.

Been playing RCT recently, amazing how much he got right in 1999 and how it was made by one person, incredible work.

It's amazing!! So many solo devs make amazing games, I think because they can stick to their clear vision. Still way better than most games coming out today!
@hellowill7 ай бұрын
I still think RCT3 is my favourite. Could be nostalgia, but I think it just looks great. Even better than planet coaster which feels like it's missing something. And you can build awesome stuff without spending too much time or feeling overwhelmed (unlike Planco). Basically it's the classic games with 3D graphics, but without the complexity (RCT2 is even more complex IMO).

I loved the personality and fully turning the scenario games into fully fledged parks.

@CheesecakeMilitia7 ай бұрын
I still love RCT1 the most - its simplicity makes building nice looking parks by far the quickest out of all of these while still having a nice degree of customization. And its scenarios are *still* unmatched (though Parkitect's scenarios come close) and the most convenient way to accurately play them today is in OpenRCT2. When it comes to sandbox play, I still feel OpenRCT2 is punching well above its weight considering the age of the base game - communities like NewElement have been producing jaw dropping parks that rival the prettiest creations in Planet Coaster for the past two decades.

Going inside building/room things to customise rides was way more in-depth than I would have originally thought form the previews. It's also been a little while since i've played and have seen there's been major updates recently!
