This release is spectacular! I've been playing since they released the demo, and have been on the ride for the progress for the last two years. Each update has gotten a new playthrough from me, and for good reason. This game's gotten better and better each update, and while I think they could do a few more refining to the game, it's an excellent product. Excited to see what you get up to as you do this playthrough!

Placing of auto-miners I try find a spot as close to the base as possible, or close to another of an other material. Like an iridium one then can place it roughly at the entrance of the cave. Often place an outpost pod close with storage and emergency supplies, particularly if some distance away.

Thanks Surtr. I feel sure you might have already have mentioned it, but during your meteor storm it occured to me that having at least 2 entrances to your base is essential to avoid being blocked in or out. Not nice if you are blocked outside and your O2 level is low!

The tip to center your entrance to your base is to rotate the living compartment if it is off center. No matter what i do, it can only center on one side of the living compartment at a time for some odd reason. I am not sure but i don't think you have your backpack at T4

I put my heaters and drills in the iridium cave. Plenty of space in there for a hab for the heaters and drills. Once you get the inside ladder you can stack the habs too. That flat space on the shelf by the central pillar is perfect for the hab.

Its just me but I like being outside with my base. I think the drills and heaters will get a little cluttered when you get to T5. Those things are huge.

@@surtrplays The T5 drills I put over in the waterfall area or in the desert area. I don't make one big base. I have a living area, crafting and manufacturing area, the rocket area, and the biolabs area. I like spreading them out and then just linking the areas via teleporter. That way I am not spending all my time in just one area of the map and I can work on doing different landscaping and builds with each area.

pushed pressure hard enough to get tier 2 minners. Does feel good to have the main rare ores being produced now. Forgot how much power they take and now have a constant power struggle each time I add one. Still better than the alterative.

LOL. i pushed so hard for T3 miners that i had to wait an additional hour to be able to do Osmium Rods :D

The last game I was playing... I waited a long time to launch rockets, except for the mapping ones... I wanted to see how much I could do without them. I had a large amount of the map explored BEFORE the ice fully melted, visited most of the wrecks as well... just sheer persistence looking for the back ways into the areas...

You might have made it difficult for yourself with the contents of the blue chests that change. It is an interesting, a no rockets playthrough. I don't know if I could deal with that.

so in the sand falls in the middle whist collecting super alloy is a hidden cave with a lot of osmium and other goodies

nice...i find some places for drills and heaters...out of primary place...now i am at 30GTi terra status in 4+ playing...still figure it out how some stuff works beacuse i didnt play game a year..

Those slight barely noticeable variations in the ground level are incredibly annoying! I wonder whether sending up the Pressure rocket earlier would have given you all the Iriidum you wanted. The T1 Ore Extractor can only extract Aluminium, Iridium and Sulphur. (And the five basic ores of course.) I'm not a fan of the low visibility of the sulphur area so I'd prefer to use Osmium caves or Extractors instead. Strangely two Atmospheric Water Collectors collect water 25% faster than a Lake Water Collector and only use 15% more power to boot. (Lake Water Collectors used to be useful for auto-crafting Bacteria Samples.) I assume the Biolab and T1 Biodome will be integral parts of your main base?

The water is about as flat as you can get. That's why I like to build on it. I could have sent the pressure rocket up sooner, I'm sure it would have helped. Thanks, I wasn't sure if the t1 could get Uranium. I'm not too concerned about the sulphur area. Interesting on the water collectors. I don't think I will include the T1 biodome. It doesn't really have that much value. Thanks for watching.

It might have something to do with it. I have had a couple of small issues with my older saves. I do remember something like that with the extractors.

Also worthwhile saving regularly. I have been stuck a few times and the game could not release me. Plus if you die inconveniently (is there a good time to die?), you can exit and load the last save to avoid the issue.
