Out of my own curiosity I copied this video and put it in an NLE. The CS1.5 waveforms read higher than CS2's.

So I'm not crazy for thinking the CS2 is quieter than the CS1.5 in this video
@MyPaintballLife6 жыл бұрын
keep in mind the CS1.5 is also closer than the CS2 but I think they both are the same ...quietness? Is that even a word? you get it.

The Madman you going to do a decibel test on these 2 guns anytime soon?
@BrianBaileyMedia6 жыл бұрын
I play against a few brothers one rocks a CSR and the other a CS2, and I can tell which one i'm playing against based on the difference in the marker sounds. The CS2 has a crisp ping/snap kind of sound and the CSR is just more of a woosh/cough noise. I run the Gtek 160R and it sounds a lot like the CS2, not the exact same because my barrel is all aluminum, but they are very similar sound signatures. Great video, this is an awesome comparison!

If the sound is being recorded from your lapel mic, I would suggest you using hoppers with hard tops to muffle a lot of the sound we're picking up. There is a start difference with the sound profile from hoppers with and without speed feeds installed from the shooters perspective.

Etha 1 vs Etha 2 sound test -- people say the Etha 1 was significantly louder than the new Etha 2 but I haven't found a video comparing them!
@CaliforniaTravelVideos6 жыл бұрын
For future sound tests, I suggest placing the microphone 100 feet IN FRONT of the marker and a second test 100 feet off axis at a 45 degree angle. The shooter is less concerned by the loudness they or teammates hear than the sound signature heard by the opponents (in front or on the sides of the shooter. Thank you for your test and my impression is the CS1.5 may be 3 to 6 dB quieter, with a higher swishing frequency that almost sounds like it has some built-in silencing going on, while the CS2 has a louder, nore hollower resonant popping frequency. But who's to say which is "better?" Maybe the shooter actually wants a louder, more intimidating sound coming from the CS2 ...

CS2 has a way better sound signature on the video! CS1.5 kind of sonunds like a lound hiss at the projectiontion of the ball. The CS2 has more of a traditional muffle you get form like a blow gun. If Dye dosn'st come out with some shooting videos of there new platform M3s there going to loose alot of fans over to Marker.

@MK4vDubbin6 жыл бұрын
tropicthunderbolt The "whoosh" shot people talk with the CS1/.5 is a bit of a misnomer. That's just the sound of the SFR exhausting air out of the side of the gun, a feature the CS2 doesn't have due to running a variation of the Gamma core.
@tropicthunderbolt6 жыл бұрын
MK4vDubbin yea. Makes sense. I like my 1.5 way too much to even consider the 2. Nothing wrong with the 1.5. And mines shoots amazing already and I luv the sound. So it's not even a option. Plus. Once the new grips cone out. It'll make the 1.5 even more seal the deal....

And its on the right side of his face, with a glorious beard like that, some of the snap from the cs2 could be covered. A full size mic in the middle of the two guns wouldn't hurt.
@ANSgearPaintball6 жыл бұрын
I had the full mic set up between them, but it picked up so many other sounds outside, (wind, traffic, echoing, the balls hitting the target), that I made a judgement call and went with the lapel mic because it sounded more true to life.
@WhyDidYoutubeDoThis6 жыл бұрын

the mic is also on the side of the 1.5 too so it might make it sound a bit louder
@ANSgearPaintball6 жыл бұрын
Even though I had the larger mic set up, I ended up using the audio from Rory's lapel mic for the entire video because it was a truer representation of the guns' sound and it didn't pick up a bunch of the noise from outside like wind and traffic. So the mic actually is the same distance from both guns. . And also, the large mic is in the middle too. it just looks skewed to one side from this angle.

Cs2 sounds louder to me in my honest opinion the cs1 is a proven platform and the cs2 is yet to be proven but if it performs it will be more than tourney qualifying. They tried something new. Good on them
@TheBroz6 жыл бұрын
Paintball mag What? The CS2 uses a slightly evolved Gamma core which has been perfectly proven in the GTEK and ETHA2.
@johnnystock72946 жыл бұрын
TheBroz oh. Had no idea thought they modified the old cs1 engine looks like a wider base towards the rear and different can (thingy idk what you would call the front portion of that bolt for that, not the bolt or bolt face the bolt housing)

@ANSgearPaintball6 жыл бұрын
That doesn't effect the results of this test. an efficiency test? yeah. comparing sound signatures? nope.
@PenguinDynasty6 жыл бұрын
Bro for sound signatures when both are shooting same velocity that makes 0.00000000 difference
@Jose-cu3ff6 жыл бұрын
Yes, you are right. I Don't think it should matter much because the gas flow regulation is done by the gun rather than the tank. The only difference I could think of is the actual sound of the tank resonance. But should be a lot quieter than the noise of the gun itself. Thanks for the timely response ANS gear!
@cbb62786 жыл бұрын
@@ANSgearPaintball I don't know about that. When I was running with an Axe Pro I had a ping noise when I shot a FS Hero tank vs my Ninja tank. Ulitmately yeah it doesn't matter, but there are those rare times when it does.
