Love what are you doing with exhibits, really nice and unique, the logs on the building look nice but you got the right idea, it hurts that they all hey same size and texture, when nature becomes repetitive and too symmetrical it kinda looks unnatural. So try to break it up by rotating and displacing logs. When it comes to layout try to make C curves and S curves in some places, make edges not a straight line, instead of cutting paths straight across, cut diagonally, make path go at different angles to avoid parallels. Unless, you like grid like layouts which many people prefer but it becomes boring imo. Pacing of the episode is fine, time lapses are absolutely necessary here. Great start with wolves, cant wait to see pups running around in all their cuteness. Thanks for kicking off this awesome LP, keep em coming.

@tijgerin65 жыл бұрын
You've probably noticed by now, but for anyone who hasn't yet: • You get all your money back if you use the return button (CTRL + Z). • If you put down facilities/construction items first, you can select their group/grid when building a path. • If you press H, in one of the tabs you can see the range of negative buildings. • In the beginning of the game, you can lower some staff wages from 1100 to 1050 without them disliking it. • You can adjust the range of speakers/heaters/coolers. • Heaters/Coolers need time to adjust the temperature. So the snow will appear after a little while, and will show a rock layer when melted. • You indeed have to spam click often in Animal/Exhibit trading. You don't have to be afraid of accidentally buying an animal by click spamming. Have fun with the game, everyone 😊

@CaptainWolfStudios5 жыл бұрын
If you think that fun fact is cool, you might love the rest of the story! You'll find quite a few similarities between wolves and people because early human civilizations (moving out of Africa) modeled themselves after wolves to better help themselves survive. Wolves are very social animals and their ability to communicate, hunt, defend their territories and raise young was something that didn't go unnoticed by our ancestors. We used many of their techniques to better our own survival. What I'm trying to say here, is that humans modeled themselves after wolf behavior, rather than wolves having seemingly human characteristics. It might sound crazy to believe at first glance, but it's important to understand that our positive relationship with wolves was tucked aside during Medieval times when the hatred of wolves began because of the belief in werewolves and magic. The same animal that helped us survive, became a symbol of evil and violence. Myths and common media portrayal (movies, songs, games, books, etc) still link in with that darker perspective of wolves, which we know now with modern science, is purely fiction.

This is a great series so far! I love it when people actually *try* to make a good-looking zoo in these tycoon games instead of just letting wild animals loose on the populace. So much more rewarding to watch real effort pay off. I love the Timber Wolf enclosure! Reminds me of the zoo I went to as a kid that had a similar exhibit regarding the cave and glass. You have a very good eye for aesthetics and detail, and I really appreciate that. The fast-forward with monologue was done very well and in just the right places, and I think that was the right move over hemming and hawing live for thirty minutes. Overuse could cause some confusion, but I think you chose well when to put it in. Definitely going to watch the rest of what you've uploaded of this series, and subscribing to see more of it. I hope all of the finicky features get patched or figured out, and that you have a good time playing the game :)

It's way to late now, but I learned today in @geekism live stream that all staff buildings in game have an AOE ring of negativity. No amount of decor, hiding, walls or other beautifully crafted buildings, fences or theming can undo the negativity. The Planet Coaster path system can be a jerk! Geekism has a decent tutorial, but sometimes you just gotta undo or bulldose to make it go where you want. Also always check the right hand side menu options as often some kind of tunneling or auto snapping or sizing is causing your pain.

29:16 I haven't actually played this game so I can't make assumptions about how the game works, so I could be misinterpreting what they have shown. But I would like to point out some of the wolf information is inaccurate. Part of the issue is that wolves are incredibly socially complex and wild behavior doesn't exactly mimic how they behave in captivity. One of the biggest things to note is that female wolves who are unaltered in captivity tend to have issues with other female wolves in a shared enclosure. Once female wolves start to reach between a year old and sexual maturity, aggression/tension towards other females is likely to develop. There are some exceptions, but since that is less common, the game should account for the most common behavior displayed in captive wolves. Adult females, even blood related (mother to daughter, sister to sister) should show tension/aggression towards one another in game play once they reach adulthood, which can be avoided if female offspring are sold/removed from the pack. Female to female aggression isn't much of an issue in the wild, but it does happen in captivity. Another issue that I am assuming is not in game play based on this menu, is that unrelated male wolves CAN be introduced to one another in captivity, IFFFF a female wolf is not present in the pack. This is very observable in zoos and people who have high content wolfdogs. If you throw a female into the mix, competition to be her mate can lead to tension/fighting. Lastly, wolves are very shy. The menu says their relation with humans is "confident." This is usually not the case. Wolves are so shy that zoos will often give wolves much more privacy than some of the other animals. That is why SOME zoos (not all of course) make privacy windows the only accessible place to view wolves (The ones where you can see out, but the wolf cant see in).

And then I am seeing that you've got almost 200 episodes with soooo many hours of gameplay, oh my, thank you so much for that! This will be my daily program for the next time!

I just found your channel through a Humankind video and I'm already in love with this series. Gonna try to catch up with it as soon as I'm able, one episode at a time.

Your work zone needs to be fixed to include everything! That might be part of the reason the spiders aren’t doing great. Absolutely love how you’re doing this planet zoo let’s play. I’ve watched others & they aren’t as detailed.

PartyElite YAY that’s great news! I’m enjoying this blast to the past though, especially thinking about starting Elite Zoo South in such a short time. Just wrapped up re-watching Episode 2 😅

Love it! I didn't finish de video yet, but i think part of your path problems is because the angle snap is at 30°, so in 180° there are 6 possibilities, and in 90° there are 3, if i understand it correctly a 45° angle snap would work better (tho i still think it wont solve all your problems). Or I hope so at least!

The level of rage I felt each time you said bi-zon instead of bi-son is immeasurable. 😂

I hath stumbled upon you sir and can I just say, my gosh, finally! Actually information on your thoughts instead of just time-lapses. Plus that voice 😩💓

Why does this have so little views! I find this so relaxing watching you play. Comparing you to other (more popular) KZbinrs, you are much more organized and nicer to watch. I love seeing you play this, keep going 💜

I know this video is older now but out of all the KZbinrs/streamers I've come across, I like you the best. You're easy to listen to and I like your train of thought. Plus, RIGHT DUDE? FUCK THE PATHING lol. In Zoo Tycoon you could just create paths for daaaaaaaayyyyysssss.

loving this series!! you are so inspiring! I don’t have the creative mindset to think outside of the box with the terrain tools and all that so it’s nice to get some inspiration from you! can’t wait to see more and where you take this series!

At the start I'd love to see these time lapses with explanations. The miniscule editing is a big part of the game, and I am interested in it, but one hour wall work would be too much :P Maybe later these things should be edited out, and we certaimly font meed to see you designing each identical bathroom down the line, but new buildings and features should be timelapsed atleast once imo. I find it interesting :)

Thank you for this start. I know now I'm going to have a ton of problems starting this game. But you're showing me the basics.

According to some other vids I've watched, you need to flatten out the terrain in order to lay the paths the way you're wanting.

You're the first person that does these playthroughs whose voice I can actually listen to! So many of the people who do these...I cannot stand listening to them talk!! hahaha. I own this game but haven't been able to play it because I don't own a computer capable enough to run it. So I'm building a PC :) little by little, one piece at a time. Can't wait to play but for now watching your play through will have to suffice! :) Also, I'm a fellow Canadian :D From Nova Scotia and currently residing in Alberta.

Let's Elite the hell out of that Zoo! I personally love the approach you are taking with this game, with the whole over-the-top Elite Zoos brand image and stuff. I found the timelapse very interesting, it certainly gives the series a better pace and it is a chill experience without delaying or making the playthrough slow. Maybe you could implement that to Soviet Republic. As an industrial designer, it is a joy to see how you design the enclosure, the paths, the environment, and the realistic approach to the series (like not covering the cooler completely). I do think we (your audience and you) should take advantage of the tools the game provides and rename EVERYTHING \(^u^)/ Animals, enclosures, facilities, and staff, if possible! Names for the Name God, Monickers for the Monicker badge!
