Also, I should've mentioned - if you'd like to pick the game up and support the channel while you're at it, buying at this link helps charity as well as the channel - www.humblebundle.com/store/planet-zoo?partner=PartyElite Cheers, and enjoy!

Just got an idea for viewing area while watching you set your educational stuff, it would be cool if you could make an area uptop expanding over the enclosure, like a perch. Maybe a couple of those. It would limit where people can view from and educational stuff and donation boxes would be more effective that way imo.

Just a heads up the temperature requirement for them is -8 to 29 the -15 is exessive as the coolers only work in a range. Also, I like the fencing it goes with the overall theme of the exhibit.

You need to cover /hide the staff facilities with ornamentation. Also, what's the point of the central path if guests are using it anyways? Is there any way you can make it to be exclusively used for the staff?

The wolves preferred temperature is between minus 8 and positive 29! Your coolers are set too cold for them. If you check the temperature map you will see the wolves are blue, which means they are too cold. Also, click on a wolf, go to terrain, and then you will see when you've got it just right. You should be able to get it to 100%.

For myself, I am perfectly fine with you Timelapsing all of the adjustments to terrain and the tedious sign/fence and building of shells for staff/vendor buildings. And adding a voice over in post. Then do some of the final fine tuning in real time. Be mindful of going big on the large habitats, because of the expenses it will need. I made that mistake after seeing your first video and trying it out myself later in PlanZoo. I went bankrupt and dug a very deep hole for myself... 😂 Keep it up! Oh and yeah, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays seem fine for uploads. If you miss one, I won't hate you. 😉

Maybe you should consider to make more animal areas in a "generic" pen so you can get your income and then come back to decor when its economically viable? Dont need to spend 5 hours+ on every pen if the Zoo dont have animals to show for.

Ok so I’m not sure if this has been addressed yet - the wood barrier you use for the wolf pen is pretty similar to the habitat fence. You could use the glass enclosure fence to do it rounded around the enclosure and then you can “upgrade” it to the wood one to keep the curve (right click with wood selected I think). Then you can adjust the heights for each section and also add decorations on top. It also won’t turn into an actual habitat unless you put a gate on it. It would also be cheaper!

Check your cooler temps, pretty sure at least one of them was set to below comfortable. I actually wondered if your shops were broken, they shouldn't have been on zero sales! I think you should be fencing away your facilities most people don't keep them visible to the guests. I think you should get the big loan and do a few small exhibits at the front, add some picnic tables, then start thinking about a bear enclosure.
@raerohan4241
@raerohan4241 5 жыл бұрын
For the shops, you actually don’t need them early on. Since there are only a few exhibits, guests aren’t staying long enough to need food or drinks. So they’re just a money sink.

Probably too late to say this, but the easiest way to solve the problem with the facility negativity would be to take away the guest path on the right hand side of the screen so they don't wander over the facility area. Not the whole path, just cut out that corner. Guests can go down into the tunnel to see the wolves through the left-hand path, and when they exit on the right-hand side, that path can lead them to a new exhibit and not back over the facility area. Having taken a tour of the Atlanta Zoo with the habitat architect several years ago, he explained that the reason guests generally only see a habitat from one or two sides of the enclosure is because the zoo facilities are generally hidden in the back of the enclosure behind the fencing/environmental scenery where guests can't see it. If you try to make an enclosure that is viewable from all 4 sides, you are never going to be able to adequately hide the facilities. With a game as detailed as this one, it might be more economical to group your staff things together and build your enclosures *around* them, so the staff areas become the hub, and the enclosures hide them. And btw, idk if this is just a thing with this game or what, but my aunt used to raise wolves, and Timber Wolves do not need to have the area covered in snow all the time. Timber wolves are often found in not just in boreal/taiga forests, but also prairies, tundras, brushlands, grasslands, and mountains, so if added in more short grass, the wolves would not be unhappy with it. No, they don't like to have a lot of rock, because wolves love to dig large, deep holes for dens if there is not already a natural den area for them. Fun fact, you can't ever refill a hole a wolf digs, because as they dig out the dirt, they walk around and around the top edge of the hole, packing the dirt back down. Zeke, the last Timber Wolf my aunt had, dug a hole 6 feet wide and 4 feet deep for his den, and he purposely packed sticks and fallen leaves down with the dirt in order to build up the edges of the hole faster and higher

Definitely need to keep an eye on the ongoing costs for some of the things you put down! Two washrooms on both sides might not be necessary for now! Maybe just one. I do agree that food and drinks aren't doing so hot either and should also maybe be closed for now since the costs of running them is high ! I noticed that when hiring the staff they do have wages that can be slightly lowered without them being unhappy which should save some costs as well :)!

I think we need more time-lapses. I would also recommend you do the less of OCD things early on (like we don't need to spend so much on smaller details so early. That's usually mid to late game stuff.) The visitors also don't want to walk so far so you need some facilities to keep (entice) them in the zoo, midway through the zoo.

I like the time lapse stuff for the tedious placing of scenery. So, what you've done so far is great. An idea: How about a small exhibit house off to the side of the path by one of the bathrooms? Then it wont feel so money-grabby and it will be a second place for guests to go when its raining.

Guess I'm running two episodes behind lol Not sure if it's still relevant but, for me, an easy way to make money is breed and sell spiders and snakes. They breed fast and sell decently. Usually sell batches of 30 for around $20,000. (Also, wolf is usually my starter animal too lol)

-8°C to +29°C --- for the wolves. So surely you only need 1-2 of the coolers, set at -2°C? They can have areas of grass and snow.

I think you should build some smaler exhibits, but make them indoor so your guests seek them themself with all that rain and snow, something like a tropical greenhouse

With the power stations if you research the other options like solar panels it doesn't have a negative effect on guests

Hey! I am watching your first video yet so I do not know if you figured, but I figured so just wanted to let you know in case you did not: The information about how much the staff area is "out of view" for the guests is on one of the heat map options. Not sure what it was called bit it is among the heat maps, and it will draw a red area around the staff buildings. If the red area touches a path/place the guests go through/visit, than it is "in the view" for them and they will not like it. It is just the opposite of how you look at how far your water or power goes.

@@PartyElite I understand the mechanic on the one hand, it is disillusioning to see "ugly" stuff buildings and water pumps and whatnot while you walk around in the themed areas of a zoo... on the other hand in most of zoos the staff buildinss fit into the theme, and you can do it here as well if you add customization and do not just put down the bare cube of staff building...so the mechannic works but it does not XD

Well one way could be that you put them where you wanna put them and then just build a little fence around them ( electricity etc) so ppl can't see them and build a gate so your engineers can access them. I dunno just a thought :D
