I too strongly believe this is a tropical rainforest DLC considering the capybara and Brazilian porcupine were found in the files. I also think sloths are coming too. There was someone spewing about 1.9 being a carnivore pack. I took that with a grain of salt. We know that’s not what it is. I think that person WANTS to see more carnivores in the game but we know it’s not carnivores.

I like most of your analysis and I agree rainforest is most likely given what we know (as much as I'd prefer anything else). The only point where you went really wrong is by saying SA is not highly demanded. As another user pointed out, many South American animals are on the list, including not only capybara, Andean bear and monkeys, but also the sloth, armadillo, ocelot, coati, rhea, mara and quite a few more.

I am well aware people "want" south american animals. But there is a scale to the demand of South American animals. People really want animals like sloths and capybara. But its more likely people would be upset if frontier "wasted slots" on the lesser demanded south american animals like coati or rhea even if they still are animals people would eventually like to see. Choosing the most popular animals from all rainforests around the world (Congo, Madagascar, Southeast Asia, and South America) first, before going into the more obscure picks, is a lot more appealing than going all in on any one area.

@@IAmTheLionRider On the other hand, Frontier has shown willingness to not entirely follow the wishlists for animals in DLC, and as long as they're strong picks which add something new I think it'll get good reception--look at the Europe Pack in general (the lynx and ibex were pretty highly requested but the badger and fallow deer less so) or the prairie dog in North America. South America also has very flimsy representation in PZ compared to tropical Africa or Asia, especially given how many SA animals are common in zoos (capybara, maned wolf, Patagonian mara, rhea, coati). And while the prairie dog was below the wolverine and black bear on the wishlist, everyone ended up loving it. The other thing I'm wondering about is whether the sloth can actually be implemented well, as an animal that spends almost its entire life in trees and can't even properly walk. I'd be more willing to buy a more general tropical pack if Frontier announced changes to climbing and an inclusion of brachiation (for the Orangutan and to be put on, say, a gibbon) but they didn't. But we'll see on Tuesday. It's definitely not aviaries or aquariums, though.

@@IAmTheLionRider I think you have explained the advantages of Rainforest very well as I hope the biogeographic themed packs are mostly done. Embracing broader themes is going to allow the packs to hit more fan favorites rather than pigeon-holing the selections into one region. It'll be better from a marketing standpoint to create more suspense at each release.

Hopes for impossible ideas of what animal pack it could be Rainforest Pack: Sifaka, Sloth, Kinkajou, Spider Monkey, Ocelot, Tamandua Wetland: Manatee, Snapping Turtle, opossum, Armadillo, maybe Serval or Caracal , etc

Umm SA are actually highly desired if we go by the metawishlist. Sure the capybara and the maned wolf are the big ones people want but you have lots of options that people have in their wishlists: ocelot, sloths, monkeys, rheas, armadillos, i've even seen a lot of people asking for patagonian maras. And that's not even mentioning birds (some of which could be done without flying mechanics) or reptiles ( i've also seen a lot of people asking for a green anaconda as the first hábitat snake) That said and as much as i would love a SA animal pack i like the idea of a general rainforest animal pack that could include animals from all over the world so that way they can fill the gaps of different regions at once. And if that is the case maybe that means animal packs from now on will focus on biomes which helps with adding highly requested animals but not being confined to just one region. If it is indeed a general tropical rainforest pack then i would love to see gibbons, red river hogs and fossa thrown in there as well. We'll know in a couple of days i guess.

Yeah I think a SA Animal Pack would be great now. Do a regular jungle/tropical/rainforest pack later on...especially I'd we do end up getting an Aviary

Yah, SA animal pack is more likely i think, since for a general tropical rainforest pack, you are mainly looking at monkeys. If we get SA animal pack.There is also a thing we need to look at for potential re-skins of animals, since we usually get one or 2 in an animal pack as well. Capybara Maned Wolf Tamandua (Would be the reskin of the Giant Anteater) Ocelot/Jaguarundi Howler Monkey Pampas Deer Rhea (Reskin of the Ostrich) or American Flamingo (Imo, the only other Flamingo subspecies worth considering, since the others are way to similair to the one we already have in the game).

If it's a Rainforest pack, other than the capybara I'd like to see a two-toed sloth (even if it's just on the koala rig), squirrel monkey, lar gibbon and red river hog. For an exhibit animal, even though the Lord Howe Island stick insect was found in the files, I do hope they go with some kind of chameleon instead.

Something that would fit both a potential jungle pack and the new water updates would be some popular South American wading birds like the jabiru stork, maguari stork, great white egret, scarlet ibis, American flamingo, Southern screamer, and roseate spoonbill, as well as waterfowl to put in ponds. Those are usually displayed with clipped wings in open exhibits instead of aviaries in zoos.

If it is a rainforest pack I'd love that least see a Capybara, Howler Monkey, Sloth of some kind, Crested Gibbon or some other gibbon, Javan Rinocerous, and maybe a Rhea, Spoonbill, or American Flamingo which is very common in zoos.

South America Animal Pack Maned Wolf Capybara Howler Monkey Ocelot/Jaguarundi Tamandua Southern Elephant Seal Pampas Deer Rainforest/Tropical Animal Pack Capybara Maned Wolf Howler Monkey/Gibbon Takin Wallaby Rainforest Pack in itself is way to limited at this point, especially if you pull from all continents, since you end up with mainly monkeys at that point. So a Tropical pack is more likely here, since a rainforest isn't the only tropical thing, it also depends on the climate.

With all these new water changes I would thing it might be a marshes/swamp pack. This would include the capybara and the idea of the rice fields because those are shallow marshy kind of habitats

As for some animal ideas, along with the capybara maybe some cranes, geese, alligator snapping turtle would be super cool, asain small clawed otter, this is probably a reach but the platypus, then maybe a cottonmouth or Suriname toad for the exhibit animal

I wish they'd add the Burrowing behavior to the fennec fox as well. Also, rather than Rainforest, I'd rather South America Pack 2.0- since that way we could get a maned wolf. The Pack could also include spider monkeys, ocelots, two-toed sloth, chacoan peccary, southern screamers, chilean flamingo, andean bear, add Waterfowl to the game, coati, prehensile-tailed Porcupine, tamandua, etc . I doubt we'll get gibbons because I think whichever pack includes gibbons will also include brachiating mechanisms for the orangutans.

Totally agree. Although i personally think that if we ever get a second Flamingo subspecies, they will go with the American one, since coloration wise, that one is different enough from the one we already have in the game, while coloration wise, the others are the same. If they do it, i hope we get 3 or 4 requested animals in there and throw in 3 or 4 others as wildcards. For example, the Wolverine and Black Bear were more requested than the Prairie Dog, but in the end, everyone started to love it. We should also consider there also being one or 2 re-skins in a pack, as usual. Imo, what they should do is Capybara Mained Wolf Howler Monkey Those are the most requested. Then throw in as wildcards Ocelot/Jaguarundi (Either one is fine for me) Tamandua (Reskin animal) Rhea (Reskin animal) Pampas Deer/Marsh Deer. I personally feel they should reserve the Peccary for a NA Pack. They can potentially do the same with the Ocelot if they choose the Jaguarundi for SA.

My guess is that the roaming educators will behave similarly to the security guards - a sphere of roaming influence that passively increases education. I wouldn't be surprised if they educators don't even have much in the way of speaking animations around it.

I'm hoping that the upgraded first person mode might mean something like being able to actually visit other players zoos...either random ones or friends, letting your arrival there be notified the same way the random visitor "players" works, but lets you actually wander around

I think rainforest so they can open up for an aviary pack later on specially with bathing and small borrows introduced and alot of birds live in rainforest areas so that pack followed by a aviary pack in the future makes sense

It's always a safe thing to do in *case* of an update but it doesn't really look like it will break fingers crossed.

They cant announce dlc on 29th March. That would mean there is going to be 12 animals in pack. To much time between 29th March - 12th April : round 13 days = 12 animals + developer journal.

@@Fantallana they belief that Frontier must reveal an animal each day between the reveal and release, which isn't 100% true. Frontier sometimes skips Sundays and then there are also Dev Journals.

The updates are getting, how do I say this, less desirable. Anyway, the DLC is very interesting. The hot springs brought me right to Tropical, but I didn’t even think about the Japanese reference. The timing is very weird this time. Say the DLC is announced on Monday, or Tuesday, we would have like 12 or 13 days for animals, ok one here for the polls or whatever but it’s still more than usual. I just can’t wait to see what happens on Monday!!!

It just seems like we got color variations, animal talks, vista points, deep diving for heck sake, and now it's like ok, some smaller burrows, educators stopping (which is very cool). I mean it's still exciting, just not as exciting as they once were.

I haven't been able to play for so long.. I mean, I have, but I just can't get myself to play. I just can't seem to get myself to make a map with height differences and get stuck on the empty map in front of me for 10 minutes and then I shut off the game. Someone help with a premade map :(

I think the sloths Will be included. The video about roaming educators says about koalas that sleep 20 hours per day and they get Water from leaves. I Guess it is a reference about sloths. My prediction is a tropical/Amazon animal pack with capybara, sloth. I think they add aswell a burrow animal like armadillo/porcupine.

I think you should add animals in India pack because when I first saw the India pack I thought it was gonna be something similar to the safari pack but it was just a scenery pack I mean I like the scenery but I think it needs to be like the Safari pack kinda with all the animals here are some suggestions Asian river otter moon bear Sumatran rhinoceros Golden snub nosed monkey Sri Lankan elephant amur leopard etc.
