Thank you for taking the time to do a really thorough and positive review of the eclipse cross. All of the reviews that I’ve watched thus far seems intent of trashing this vehicle if only because of the name of the vehicle being associated with the original Eclipse. I’ve test driven just about every single comparable compact SUV in the American automobile market and I believe that the Eclipse Cross accomplishes a lot and gives the customer more than would be expected from a compact SUV amongst it competitors. Get Fast and Furious out of your head and you’ll see how really good this CUV is compared to the competition. The blunt and short overhangs in the rears and the sculpted front fascia with hexagon lighting stack speaks volumes to how, like the CX5, Mitshubishi styling is setting itself apart from its competitors with a visual that looks less like its conventional competition and more consistent with it evolutionary path of design sportiness.

You’re very welcome, it’s strange why certain journalists have these views, we say it as we see it *B

Excellent. Well done....a lot of editing......but so very informative. I kept getting distracted by recognising where you had filmed and had to keep going back. Love running on the resin Morecambe fron promenade. Thank you.

Thank you, yes our reviews end up having a lot of editing otherwise they’d be double the length 😆 we say do much and then when we start editing, we wonder is that bit needed. We love filming around here, we like cycling up and down the prom when it’s not too busy. * B

Terrific review! It is indeed sad to see Mitsubishi pull out of Europe. I have a soft spot for them largely because of their old school off readers which are now really rare in being rugged working tools that aren't just expensive toys. Once the Shogun Sport goes the Toyota Land Cruiser will be in a class of one unless people want to go for the new Defender. This Eclipse is one of the better looking cross overs and has a nice interior.

Thank you, John - glad you liked it! We agree about this Eclipse - it's a great SUV, and is full of hidden additions. We are sad to see Mitsubishi go...

I believe you said it was front wheel drive , then the rear kicks in when needed. Actually on the Cvt auto, it's 80% front/ 20% rear in auto mode. Then percentage changes through to 60/40 in gravel mode. So it's permanent 4wd , which is great. I own one , have done for a year... love it.

It’s interesting, yes it’s classed as fwd everywhere, however like you say can adjust to 55/45 auto, and full rwd bias in modes, thank you for the info. It’s a superb machine

I still think these are a good long term choice, even with Mitsubishi leaving. You will still have dealers though, they wont just disappear overnight and my next car is to be a long term pay for it and keep purchase, maybe for ten years. No point keep buying new every three years and wasting your money. Nice watch by the way.

@@PlanetautoUK also changes things with the new announcement for petrol and diesel cars today, get a new car and definitely keep long term until the infrastructure and charging times have been solved for EVs

A great review guys. It will be a sad time seeing one of my favourite Japanese brands leaving the UK and EU. This vehicle ticks all the boxes for someone like me. The interior is also a great looking place to be. When in 2wd, does it power the rear or front? cheers

The navigation is useless most of the times from my experience anyway. It doesn't update when road closures happen for maintenance reasons, or flooding. Waze or Google maps are the way to go. So Apple Car Play and Android are just a better feature imo

@@PlanetautoUK Thanks for making this video btw! I happened to come across the Eclipse Cross by accident when browsing for cars in a local dealership (I do this often because I am curious) and this one really stood out to me. From watching your video, definitely gonna grab one!

Nice car the Eclipse Cross. However, I would not purchase from a manufacturer that it is on the way out (from Europe at least). Would imagine residual values will take a real hit.

It is, the thing is with this happening Mitsubishi will likely be offering some great deals to mitigate that, also the support network is here for the foreseeable future, thank you.

If its a long term purchase to keep ten years, it doesn't matter what its value will be if youre not selling or trading in for a very long time. Stop worrying ! Why do people keep trading in perfectly good cars ? They deserve to lose money.
