***** 2 manned it with Gjallarhorn*. Fixed it. Nah FB really is not. It's a good weapon, but one of the best? No sir. Fatebringer is good for level 28 and below content, but everything is.... In CE, especially hard mode, it shows how it isn't very good. Next raid it will be very apparent when it no longer one shots tier 1 enemies. People only say FB is better for 2 reasons: Firefly and Outlaw. Outlaw has no relevance if you are good, because you should only need to reload on downtime. (normal handcannons need like 2-3 seconds with no buffs) Not that long to way haha. Sure, firefly is great, but it does nothing to enemies without the name "thrall" or "Dreg." Especially if you're raiding, firefly will do nothing because the enemies who would be hit by firefly are dead. The only people who think FB is better than every other handcannon are those who are bad at the game, following the bandwagon, or to delusional to accept their precious FB rusting. Better handcannons: Red Hand IX, Thorn, Hawkmoon, TFWPKY 1969, Venation III, Timur's Lash, and the Word of Crota. I've ran through Hard Mode with most of the handcannons I own (the one's I don't being Hawkmoon-I'm xbox- and Red hand IX). Including the Thrall Part: WoC was the most efficient. Excluding the Thrall Part: Timur's Lash... duh Thorn obviously is better than both. Think what you will, but remember this for next DLC when enemies have over 1,505 health. While you guys are taking a full clip to kill 6 tier one enemies with your beloved Fatebringer, I'll be ending 13-18 per clip with Timur's Lash. (Return to Sender FTW). My Super Good Advice to all: Invest in a 331 Handcannon: Grind New Monarchy for Red Hand IX, Grind Crucible Marks for TFWPKY 1969, pray to RNG, or hope Iron Banner comes back and you're lucky enough to get Timur's Lash. Next DLC, Fatebringer will not be one shotting most enemies. Maybe a Dreg lol. But Vandals? Nah. The era of 300 atk Handcannons has been over for a while, get yourself a 331. TLDR: Fatebringer is a relic of the past. Accept its rust What weapons are better for PvE? Vex, Red Hand, TFWPKY, Lash, Rapier, Fang, VoC.. Just to name a few.

This gun is actually amazing. From what I've seen of it the problems on it are minor. You are more or less going to use this on vex related missions to take advantage of its Void damage so the problem with Hive Disruptor is solved and while the bones on the gun are irritating they won't affect your success, sure once in a while you might miss a shot but its not like its a major problem with the gun. Its stats are incredibly balanced with no stat having to be sacrificed for another. This gun ain't no fatebringer but it surely beats atheons epilogue anyday. 9/10 IMO

Drake Lowes i have EVERY dlc weapon including the exotics and necro, I can ssay most of the weapons are decent but not great, HOC is no more than a 331 hezen vengance, abyss defiant iss really being overhyped because of it's focus fire, and black hammer is actually really good although it, and the word of crota both released with broken mods, denying them of their full potential. and the necrochasm, don't get me started on how dissapointing it is. All the new exotic weapons are lame and have real strengths over previous exticss, the only good exotics from the dlc are the armor pieces sadly

NegroNinja i gotta agree and disagree. the raid legendaries are pretty much a step up from the last ones. fang is pretty much a vision with better damage, for example. but what were you expecting? game breaking guns that destroy all enemies when they merely glance at their glory? the dlc brought guns that are better and unique than the guns from the last raid. for example, white nail or phantom gift are extremely unique and useful perks that we've never seen before, which was A LOT more than i expected given the previous raid weapons. i'll agree, the "meh"crochasm was mediocre at best, and i love using high rof auto rifles. i have a feeling that bungie just wanted to make sure they don't make another original mythoclast kind of gun that was unfairly overpowered. i expect an overbuff in the future like how mythoclast got an overnerf.

The gift does work on hive majors with the disruptor perk enabled. It doesnt work 100% of the time, and you need to fire it as fast as possible though.

It had the perk originally but was removed because it had a similar bug the Word of Crota had. When you landed 3 crits it wouldn't instantly reload when hive disruptor perk was activated so they removed it to fix it a couple months ago.

To me, Word of Crota is the alligator gun. From the side the bones look like alligator teeth, the bones above the grip on the back look like an alligator tail, and the side bones also look like alligator spines when it pops up from each shot. ALLIGATOR EVERYWHERE. I love this thing. And I like as much(almost) fatebringer. But that could be the newness of it talking. I've only had it for a day or two.

no it is not the explosive rounds while good for crowd control is not worth the trade of range, you'll make the most out of the phantom gift perk with the range as well keeping distance and laying down constant fire is much better not to mention since its such a high fire hc the explosive will from time to time obscure some vision when trying to go for precision shots so until bungie figures they're shit out with the entire phantom gift use hammer forge

Questions: 1.Does the explosion caused by Explosive Rounds deal Void damage? If it doesn't, then I would much rather run Hammer Forged since it would allow me to utilize the Void capabilities of the weapon and Phantom Gift. 2.Do you use Explosive Rounds on Fatebringer? There is a huge disadvantage you encounter when using Explosive Rounds on Fatebringer. If you hit an enemy with a percision shot, you deal 1000 precision damage and 500 explosive damage (It is something around that range, I don't remember the exact numbers). The game does not consider that a precision kill, which means that Firefly and Outlaw will NOT activate. Some times you will be able to kill an enemy with the first 1000 precision damage, and in that case, Firefly and Outlaw will activate. Sorry for the long comment, keep the great content up!

Just a quick comment on the cosmetics: I actually found it familiar to use considering how often I mained Thorn in PvP. I think this part'll be a hit or miss for many people, if they prefer Thorn or most other handcannons.

Simple fix: make Hive Disruptor into a more-general anti-Crota/Hive damage bonus, then make it an alternate to Phantom Gift. It's not perfect, but it's got to be easier than retooling the mechanics of damage and perk-triggering for the entire game, which is apparently what would need to happen to fix these broken perks properly.

Anyone else think that the way to fix the Phantom Gift perk is to set a timer? Any damage caused within that timer does not count towards the Phantom Gift perk? The time set would be the minimum time between shots that can be done so any damage caused there by explosive rounds and Hive Disruptor wouldn't disrupt it.

They just need to figure out a system that accounts for the damage coming from Hive Disruptor and Explosive Rounds as something different than the damage coming from the actual shots. Something that prevents that extra damage from interfering with the main perk, because it would be registering the damage from another source entirely.

Unfortunately, that would be far too confusing for Explosive Rounds, because it would be damage in a radius around the target. For instance, someone might get a hit for 5000 damage when they really did 1000 across five targets.

Explosive rounds messes with fatebringer in my experience too. Frequently I find precision kills will not give the faster reload speed or proc firefly. The perk as a whole needs looking at, not just on word of crota.

incineratorMAN12 ofcourse they could fix it. for example they could: Increase the amount of ammo you can carry around with it to let's say 50 or more rounds instead of using standard sniper capacities so that it can compete with litterly every primary weapon. replace Mulligan perk with something like the Zen perk or something that makes it reload faster when the mag is empty. Make the iron sights more simple looking. Let the bolt action reload get affected by reload speed increasers from armour and other sources ( like from a titan defender) , increase the Impact to Icebreaker or even fucking black hammer level and there you go. A sniper rifle that is still difficult to use, but not a total waste of time, resources and primary slot.

Much better review then some of the other ones on youtube. I would agree that it wont excel over the fatebringer in crota as much as it should. The extra damage does make it easier on Crota hard I feel then the fatebringer b/c you are pushing 31 more damage around. The explosive round is something that can be switched on and off depending on play style, but I do leave it on for pve normally off for pvp. This gun is great in VOG b/c void something not mentioned in the video but very obvious. Taking down a praetorian shield never felt so easy, and you cant crit hit them so explosive rounds still pays off better. Dirty is Ninja XBL

The main reason is probably the lower stability and fire rate. The impact is high, and the outlaw perk makes for quick reloads, but there are plenty of other legendary or exotic hand canons that outperform it in pvp.

Fatebringer is so over hyped. It has firefly, whoopdeedoo. So does my 331 Scout rifle. Fatebringer has 300 attack, which means it does less damage, which means it is no longer one of the best primaries in the game. Sure it might be good for Roc strikes now but if you're using it in hard mode crota you're honestly just dragging your team down with the low damage you're doing when you could be using a 331 weapon.

Fatebringer is a fantastic weapon. I think it has Explosive Rounds, so if you fire that into a crowd of Thrall, and hit even one, the rest die. Plus, the Firefly explosion counts as Arc damage, so you get the cool disintegrating effect.

Fatebringer fires faster, has amazing precision without the need to zoom. Fatebringer has explosive rounds too but honestly if you use explosive rounds with firefly youre using your weapon wrong. Fatebringer is also better because it can be short and long ranged

Looks wise I would of personally made the hand cannon almost pitch black and then added on a few choice details of green lights and gave it a smoking green barrel almost like bad juju is now. It would of looked like a weapon from the pit, something corrupt and oozing with abyss void. Perks wise I could see it being good if the perks worked together, at the moment they are fighting against each other, personally I would like to run the reload perk, the reload tho fast still feels slow and the main enemy in the game at the moment is hive and not being able to have this weapon at full power against them sucks. Its cool and very powerful against anything weak to void and nightfalls, its great in PvP with a skilled player but it lacks that " I just beat Crota on Hard for this thing " title and ability. Its no Fatebringer to say the least.

I have a lv 27 hunter and it's my favorite character but it's dreadful getting legendary armor for it. I need a quick way to get to level 30, rather that's constantly doing vanguard roc or crucible or whatever. Any ideas? I have a lv 31 warlock and I don't remember grinding this hard -_- (then again he was my first character and I didn't care lol)

VoG is next to useless in terms of armor nowadays, since you can hit 31 with vendor gear only, unless you don't have Dark Below. I'd say just grind Crucible/VG bounties to level your preferred faction and buy the needed gear, unless you manage to get your hands on whatever you need in the process. Even if you do hit 30 with VoG gear, you're still gonna have to grind for 31.

You should do a review on the Oversoul Edict, a low impact and high rate of fire pulse rifle from the Dark Below expansion. It is very much like the crucible pulse rifle named Coiled Hiss 1919. It has the special perk Dark Breaker which allows your bullets to overpenetrate through Hive Knight Walls of Darkness. VERY useful. This weapon also does arc damage, which I love, as it is a primary weapon.

I took the woc into vog and was never touched by a minatour . Gun rapes everything in pve , and since i only use my lw or thorn in pvp it doesnt really matter if fb is better there or not
