You should get one, they’re the best fish ever! You should also lightly tap on the glass every time you feed it so when u need to catch it you just tap on the glass and it comes to the top I got a betta because of planet fishness

Ringing a bell also works great, a lot of people think fish are "dumb" Fish ( Betta's included) can literally recognize your face from someone else's and that's not the only fun fact about them 😉

I tried the pea thing and it didn’t work the first time I experienced swim bladder issues. I was recommended to feed daphnia afterwards as bettas are carnivores and peas will basically do more harm than good. The pea myth actually comes from goldfish who are able to digest plant matter which is why so many people assume to feed peas. Bettas are not capable of digesting plant matter and that is only going to result in an upset stomach and more problems.

I have a sorority with betta sisters, I've had good luck with Glo-Fish, White skirt tetras, Zebra danios, & male and female platties in a tank with males and females. I've had real good luck with them in the same tank! They're some community fish that I love with bettas. I don't know if you've had this question, I've had two betta's that have died with a fuzz on them, it also turns their scales white. People have told me that it's a fungus, I wanted to ask what you think it is. I also really look up to you, and I'm really happy that you're helping people get into the fish keeping hobby! I find it funny as honestly, i've never cycled any of my tanks. And this is debatable, but all of my betta's have lived for a happy 5 years in every uncycled tank i've had, and the exact same in cycled. because, i used: Quick Start, Calming Oil ( the exact same as water dechlorine, it's just a liquid ), water dechlorine, and spring water, without a cycle. 5 Betta fish that lived for a happy 5 years.

Hi! I love your channel and I have a big fish problem! I have a fresh water tank with a couple fish, frogs, and a snail. I noticed white spots on my tank and then I found baby snails! They are cute but there are so many eggs and babies and I don’t know how to control them! Do you have any tips on what to do because I have no idea what to do! Hi! This is a really common problem and although kind of a gruesome solution it works the absolute best. Get an assassin snail. They're $2-$5 and really the only thing to get rid of or at least keep snail numbers down. They will eat the eggs and living baby snails, however they may eat your big snail, so you may need to move your big snail into another tank if you have one. You could try a snail trap if you don't have another tank to put your snail in however they don't work THAT well. Hope this helps :)

I would stick with one snail and the betta for a 7 gallon (rule of thumb for snails is 5 gallon for each one) :)

I hope you do more of these. I wanna get a new betta and take proper care and make it happy. I got a free 55L tank with a brand new heater and a filter with some used media and also some sand/stones which were cleaned and used in another tank, used some start up bacteria and have been cycling it for a month and a half now... been checking the parameters with my api master kit and the cycle seems to be done. I know its really big for one fish but i want it to be happy and have plenty of space.

Sometimes, but koi bettas, elephant ear, and a few other kinds the females can be equally or more colorful :)

the sponge filter came off of my tank but at the same time i had a sponge simular to slow down the flow so i just took it out and i heard a grinding and i looked and she got sucked up in the filter luckily it was a quick death because she was head first she was a little less than 2 years and i got her from petco as a baby and she was a wonderful first fish RIP Indigo Red

Hi! You can know when your tank is cycled by getting a test kit. When it is cycled the amonia should be at 0 and so should the nitrites. The natrites will be a bit higher bit to get rid of it do a water change.

Absolute minimum long term is a 3 gallon but 5 and up is better, a 1 gallon literally has no room for substrate, a heater, swimming, or any form of enrichment

Hey I’ve had my white crown tail betta named Draco for about a month now and I don’t know what’s wrong with him. He just sits in his hut all day and night and I don’t think he’s been eating recently. All he does is lay around and isn’t swimming around at all like he used to. I’ve been cleaning his tank once a week giving it a 25%-50% water change while doing that. I’m using water conditioner and a water bacterial starter so I don’t get “new tank”. He’s in a 10 gallon with a heater and filter and plenty of gravel, hiding spaces, and moss balls. It doesn’t look like anything physically is wrong with him so I’m just super worried for him. If anyone has any helpful info it would be much appreciated.

I think your betta is still trying to warm up to you, since they are usually kept in small containers for most of their lives I think it’s still kind of a shock for him to be in a nice large tank! I can’t confirm this tho so I may be wrong and if he’s not eaten anything for more that a week than I’d be pretty concerned. I have some bettas who were like that in the beginning. ( I can’t confirm this I am not a fish expert this is what I have learned)

If ur male beta is making a bubble nest it doesn’t mean it’s happy but olso doesn’t mean it’s upset bubble nest making doesn’t have to do with emotion it’s just and instinctual thing, some will some won’t

The betta was weary of the minnows but ever since had been doing WONDERFULLY!! He even blew his bubble nest a couple days ago. Also, bettas LOVE snails and make a great pair!! I was looking into shrimp as well but it honestly just depends on your bettas personality

My betta died because I failed to notice the signs of fungal infection but I think the maintenance really did me in :( tap water comes out a a 7.4-7.8 pH slightly basic and put betas prefer a more acidic environment (at least that’s read )

Planet Fishness Quick question: What does it mean if my betta is happy, but swimming and staying on his side, bc my 1 yr old betta, Hunter, was swimming normally when I first got him and now he's swimming on his side, and even though I have Hunter in a wine-glass shaped fish bowl, he seems to be happy bc he's making a bubble nest. I also have a strainer on top of the bowl to protect him from the cat, I just wanna make sure I'm not inadvertently being a bad fish owner, bc I LOVE the little guy.

I realized after watching almost all your betta videos that you don't use indian almond tree leaf for em if I check other people videos and most of asian betta owner using it cause give lots of benefits for bettas and even other fish and shrimps and in the us I know some stores that sell bettas would also selling that leaf cause it's kinda important to have one in your betta aquarium and also just like people don't just give the fish one type of food you can try bloodworm little by little give to your bettas they will love it and will grow fast and bring out colors

Hey! I'm a new betta owner, and I just got a lovely gorgeous betta named Meko (Pronounced me-co) just 3 days ago. Meko I have noticed hasn't been eating, but he seems very healthy. The water temperature is 78° and I have been feeding him betta pellets. I don't know if the store I got him from was feeding him something different, or if he is just getting used to his new environment. I'm getting worried, because this is a betta fish I have actually fallen in love with. It would be helpful if someone could answer this question! 💕

When I first got my betta fish, she didn't eat for a whole week straight due to stress. Give your fish some time to settle and get comfortable in their new home. I'm sure Meko will be okay!

Pour the water into a net then add the fish into the tank. ***Make sure you temperature acclimate the betta first for 45 minutes to an hour***

Dwarf frogs but depending on your bettas personality would determine if it’s a good fit. Mine was friendly towards other fish but when I got the frog he one day decided he had enough and killed him.
