Mercury in Scorpio can love scientific research. really good placement for the medical field. Can refuse to speak and be very passive aggressive as well. My mother has this placement in a Scorpio stellium. She worked in surgery and was excellent at diagnostic, investigative work. Her speaking voice could be very intense. She is an intense person. It's interesting because all of your examples, all of those people, are so 100% genuinely themselves, and exposing that darker side tends to bring them closer to authenticity and also help bring YOU closer to authenticity, sometimes a little abruptly. I have my natal placement as Mercury in Scorpio and I love to RESEARCH! It often however, when Mars goes 'retro' as it is as I write this, has a really slow and 'hanging' type effect on me where I don't feel like moving much. Yesterday (20th) my energy began to increase however and I think that is because it is slowly moving again. Sometimes I feel exactly like a WALKING ASTROLOGY CHART, which of course I am, but I really feel the planets now I am studying astrology on a more daily basis. This is all bang on. For better or worse, I am compelled to look underneath the words that are said to uncover the underlying motivation or intent. Never content to just go through the motions or settle for surface topics with colleagues or clients. There is much to be attributed to the presence of Uranus in the same sign. I don’t like hearing or using the same words twice, singing a song as it’s written, or following a recipe. I’m rarely surprised by people or events even though I may be around unique people or situations on a regular basis. I inadvertently expose a person or wound them with my words. And then immediately go back to smooth it. (Venus retro conjunct Mars in Scorpio). When I speak I tend to use words that are more forceful and I am to be clear and exacting when making a point. mercury in scorpio here. we arent talkers. we love getting to know people VERY deeply and without deep conversations with someone we can easily feel bored and disconnected. WE do love power. never try to get one over on us we will always see through it and cut you off. we are rebels. you cant tell us what to feel or what to say. we will just shut you out. I'm a little of all of what you describe, a LOT of some, such as getting to the bottom of things, discovering, linking & exposing truths through my art and words both spoken and written. I have Mercury in Scorpio in my 12th house, with a life-long drive toward discovering hidden truths behind the spiritual traditions I was raised within Christianity (and deviated from, of course, in my ongoing quest), so here I am, secretly investigating Astrology on KZbin, and hiding my tarot decks at home from a husband of 27 years, who doesn't understand. A conversation about spirituality (any kind that does not line up with traditional evangelical Christianity) is NOT a pleasant outcome in my house, even though I try so hard to explain my deviant point of view. This has baffled my dear husband (also Mercury in Scorpio, but in his 5th House) who discovered in his 30s that his weight was being caused by food addiction. He subsequently joined FA (Food Addicts Anonymous) and has been using the 12-step approach to curtail his obsessive relationship with flour and sugar. He has maintained a healthy weight since 2008 in this way. Interestingly also is that his NN is in Virgo in his 3rd house, so the expression of participating in this program (being sponsored, sponsoring others, attending meetings, speaking his story, and encouraging others to prime health standards) seems to be fulfilled simultaneously. I perceive that the spiritual aspect of FA is as close to a "deviant" religious viewpoint as I will ever see in my mate, and I have come to accept and support that endearing quality.

Ah hah! Lol, so my mercury in Scorpio is in my second house. I work at a Farmers Market. For the people who own and operate it. I handle the money operations of the market day. And I spent almost 10 years in fast paced bar/restaurant life talking to people about their problems. Bartender/therapist. I wouldn’t even have to ask. But I also have moon there too so.. on some level I can easily emotionally relate to deep energies. And what do I do in my spare time? Tons of scorpio placements over here including Mercury with a Natal Mars rx in Gemini. Thoughts: Currently, I’ve been obsessed with Criminal Minds. Complete tunnel vision, haven’t even wanted to watch any movies in honor of Halloween like I usually would, because studying the minds of serial killers and learning the ways of special agents has been a suddenly all consuming and completely engrossing fascination- an obsession one could say. Oddly, this process has been calming and grounding where for some I could see it being the other side of the spectrum- more unhinging and unnerving. I find myself in many cases, in conversations and internal assessments as having more compassion than most for the perpetrator in many circumstances. I feel this is due to the fact I am aware of my own dark nature and how if I had been dealt a different set of cards, who knows what influences would have led me where. When I write a song... it is almost always intensely dark and full of a quality of longing for some mysterious unknown. I am subject to thinking about power dynamics quite a bit in relationships, and if I’m not careful this can be all consuming and dominate a lot of my thinking. No surprise but I’m obsessed with astrology and interested in magic and the occult. Having mars rx in Gemini can result in lots of ideas and a lack of execution and a frustration with applying myself (something I’ve had to devote myself strongly to overcoming)- I also bore very easily. And with the Gemini I also notice a deep fascination with anything paradoxical in nature- anything that kind of turns my mind inside out and plays on polarities and extremes. So as dark and deep as I like to take anything, I equally am drawn to the light, sparkling, rainbow, fantasy, playful qualities of life. Having mercury in scorpio with this mars rx in Gemini reception also has me struggle with finding my words, and often with a great deal of frustration, I overcompensate to attempt to relay the truth of my intelligence. I was born with Mercury retrograde in Scorpio conjunct with Uranus and my Mars is in the 8th house in Virgo along with Saturn and Jupiter, lots of Scorpio energy. I would say I am very secretive and investigate things as deeply as I can, I don't trust people easily. with it retrograde maybe that is why I have a hard time communicating. I feel like people don't understand me or except me. I've come across a lot crazy dark and secretive stuff in my life. I'm very philological, always trying to figure out life and esoteric things. but my mind is also always thinking, I can't seem to relax or focus on anything simple or mundane. I worry a lot. when it comes to communicating with others. I either share too much or just stay quite and isolate.. I wouldn't say I'm sharp tongued with people but I have to speak the truth and I suppose that stings a bit.

I am a Cancer and a quite secretive person. I have to admit, I don't get along very well with what I call the "Scorpio modality" of exposing the inconvenient. I don't fear the inconvenient, but I believe there are a moment, a space, sometimes a sacrality to face it. I admire some "Scorpio people" and I love painfully one of them, but they poke my nerves with their urge to say something provocative: sometimes it is like only for the sake of provoking.
