One thing that might have been mentioned before, but I think it helps when using aircfarft; Press "H", it will double the size of the minimap, so it is easier to read if there is any tagged enemy planes.

One of your better episodes, jam packed full of information. I can see you have very much improved your flying since your first videos. To add to the things you use to keep track of your opponent, I will also keep an eye for their shadows on the ground. It's not always usable depending on the angle of the sun and the enemy, but it has helped me before.

Really good tips, I would also like to add that flying low is a lot of fun. Especially when you pull off those more advanced maneuvers and are only a meter or so off the ground.

I'm glad you mentioned that the rotary shoots below the crosshair. The Reaver is the only one with this problem because the gun is just so much lower than the cockpit compared to the other two. I wish they would adjust the sights to account for this.

100% agree. I think I mentioned that in a past video, but you're right. Flying in circles and then needing to run away can really put you out of whack without a way point.

Good advice. My biggest issue is aiming and hitting, especially when the pro pilots are moving like they have sever Parkinson and are landing every single bullet on me, but I can't get a single shot on them.

Great post..I notice often when i lock on with AA rockets...they can go directly in the ground if there ESF dips low enough...kind of weak!!

Glad you're seeing improvements in the gameplay and videos! I was taking the series from a Journey perspective, I'll teach as I learn, so the fact that both are improving is a good sign! Using shadows is helpful for sure, when you're in an area where you can actually take advantage. I personally really like shadows in an area with lots of friendly hovering libs to know that I need to be careful.

i actually have good headphones and i can hear a sythe and mossie since all three empire air crafts has different sounds so when i hear a sythe i re-act and i know what to do since they have such a good moveable aircraft so i react quick.

I generally agree, but more so because I can't seem to fly smart with them. If you really only use them to finish off one target to engage another or use it as first strike on someones tail from close range, they aren't so bad, but not my favorite by a long shot.

There are some interesting documentaries on dog fights, like "dogfights" They do teach one a lot on the art of getting on someone's tail and staying there.

i love your tips, but i have really hard time to manoeuver my reaver, mouse too slow, and keyboard to fast ( tried to do the turns you talk about, but most time and can t do something clean do get on a target) so what sensibility did u put on aircraft?

How did you get those extra fins on your reaver? I have a tab on the ingame shop that says "premium acces" and when I go in there there's these fins, altough they say unavailable. Do I have to be a premium member to buy them? I have already looked in vehicle gear and it's not there either.

My first tip for anyone interested in flying is change the 3rd person view hotkey from T to F. By default all the F key does is fire the primary with I bet you use mouse 1 for anyway. Also, change the vehicle exit key from E... being in between forward movement W and reload R means you can very easily catch this button by mistake and jump out of the aircraft rather stupidly. I fly for NC on Miller which is impossible and if you are outpopped by the TR (more than likely) Stick to other pilots.

Thanks a lot man, and good points. I've got pitch down bound to the mid mouse, mainly just because I'm so used to having reload on the thumb, it's hard to switch now. Stupid comfort levels :D Bursters needed no help whatsoever, but at least it was only 6%

I'll take a look at my sensitivity. I think it's pretty average though. Have you played with it much by cranking it up? If you're all the way up in game, does your mouse have DPI settings?

Its a platoon that was originally on Genudine. The platoon is based in China and has some hackers in them. I never seen them cause they usually play late at night due to time zone but I seen a few posted stats and there was one or two obvious hackers.

Did you ever try using a controller or a gamepad for flying the ESF? How does it feel? Is sensitivity an issue? If it works properly, then I would use my xbox360 controller just for flying, as I can map the flying controls exactly how I map on battlefield 3. Life would be much better for me.

6:45 For this I rebound my get in and out key to "CAPS LOCK" since It's really easy to try to reload and accidentally jump out, and I changed the third person view from T to E to make it easier.

Great tips, mate......can you please tell me your keybinds and mouse sensitivity, it's because I am a pro-dogfighter on consoles not on the mouse+keyboard. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. :)

You can do it, it just takes a lot of practice. Are you having trouble doing them overall, or just in dogfights?

What I would recommend doing is checking your processes. If your memory is limited this will have a knock on effect. Planetside 2 can be a very demanding game especially in Dogfights. That'll also explain why most Reavers I find are kamikaze pilots.

Also for escaping reasons always find a safe nice place (warpgate/area with friendly flak/platforms) and have your personal waypoint there.You need to know wth you run to otherwise you might while escaping go deeper into enemy territory.Oh and use the mini map and the trails you mention to find the enemy.

VERY nice video.I use middle mouse button instead of T, and I use it CONSTANTLY.I removed E from exit cause sometimes in low life situations when i freak and try to run I d hit E and jump out at 500 meters altitude.Also I agree with the skyguard buff because I have one and its kinda useless.Bursters buff?NO they are powerful enough.Usually if you are against 2 medium skill pilots you ll lose, its how WW2 dogfights would go too.

Ya so that movement i'm seeing in the video here... it's impossible. I mean literally impossible for me to do, I don't know if it's a hardware issue or some bug that happens just for me but there is a deadzone ON THE MOUSE! Yes. Those deadzones that are found on controller thumbsticks to prevent old thumbsticks from straying. That is there. For my mouse. Whenever i'm flying. It is not possible to pull off those smooth, delicate aiming because of that damn deadzone! How do you manage that?? Did you mod the game or something, please tell me? Because in BF4, I am the top dogfighter, nobody beats me in a dogfight in BF4... So i dunno why that deadzone is there or how to overcome it but it's such a stupid little technical fault that is preventing me from being at all useful in a plane in PS2! Tell me pls!

My personal favorite is griping about a tank column getting attacked by an ESF with pods...your complaining that not one sunderer has a max in it or 1 skyguard in your convoy? Then have an ESF escort...just silly

this isn't dogfighting in the definition of planetside 2, this is doing the noob chase with lock ons, true VTOL dogfighting is hover fighting. this is just the result of absolutly none of his enemies being able to take advantage of ESFs' ability to hover.

Tested. No they do not. Cosmetic items are not added to your hitbox. Same with your engineer backpack, your gun... your hands and your feet. All addons are just visual. Personally I like the idea* that enemys try to shoot parts of you that do not take damage. (;

you should use a high sensitivity for more manuevers i use a sensitivity of 75 ;) Most pros use a sensitivity of 70-100

Skyguard is so fucking overpowered i cannot fly at all. And somehow i just suck in dogfighting there are sometimes fucking reavers over the whole map rekking me and thats so fucking retarded when im fighting against vanu and i just get rekt by reavers which are supposed to be far away
