As a MANA lover, I find I survive better against people with good aim by turning slightly and letting them deplete their ammo. They either stop shooting, reposition to shoot you, or run away to try to jump you later. Using your side shields is an excellent way of controlling engagements with targets. Because in a 1v1, the one who wins is often the one who actively turns the corner because they're mentally ready to engage. By using your shield, you can be the one who controls when the shooting really begins, and that has power.

Yep, any smart person should realise this. The turret has a weak spot but only at a certain angle, you can play the "unexpected" by slightly angling the turret while negatingthe damage. That gives you control of the situation, the control there seemingly wasn't there, for a stationary target. But there is control possibilities and it's very annoying for other side now.

Yes, it would be a thing. But not for this game. You see, i have been waiting since before the "beta" for planetside 2 to come with alternative "engineer repair tools". But they never realised the potantial of this game. Imagine different engineer tools, some repairing from longer distance, some burst repairing. Some more sustained repairing etc. Imagine deployables that automatically repair nearby targets. Deployables that sensor around. Deployables to reveal cloaked units in an area. And not just gimmicks, actually working versions, so that the selections/choices will play a role in the game, instead of trash selections that do not matter.

Engineer has better potential for being a front-line combat class more than medic. The shorter shield recharge delay, access to both LMGs or ARs, shotgun secondary, barriers for cover-to-go or spitfire as a support firepower, and now the anti-materiel rifles give engineers same potential as bolter snipers, plus can damage vehicles. Engineer is such a customizable class.

What about the "suicide engineer" play-style? The engineer that runs into a fire fight with tank mines to blow up the MAXes that are holding a point's entrance and their support them...this is by far my FAVORITE!!!

You can also equip infantry mines, shit them out everywhere, equip tank mines, shit them out everywhere, equip c4, throw one brick out. Then you wait for the other 11 engineers in your squad to do the same. Congratulations, now half the server is playing fucking minesweeper.

Mana turret gunner with hardlight barrier. Now you’re immune to grenades rolling past you and getting shot in the feet 👍 Also: NS-11C with smoke grenade launcher and thermal sight so that only you get to play the game

Im an engineer main in TR and basically, this class is a jack of all trades but master at none. Thats how I play it too. The only class I ever switch over to other than the engineer is the Heavy and thats because of its anti-tank weapons. You can even be a sniper or frontline soldier and an engineer, and people will like you for it because you can drop ammo, protection and repair maxes/sunderers. You cant jetpack like a Light Assault, but I never minded that anyway. The quick shield repair really helps you get out of cover, shoot/repair/whatever and get behind cover again. If you dont play the game for K/D ratio, because youre not the most hard hitting unit, engi is still the best class for everything. Havent even touched vehicles yet, obviously playing an engi when youre in a vehicle is beneficial

3rd wheel isnt as bad as you think. Use Jockey implant to increase yout survivality and Archer/Shortbow to increase damage dealt to enemy vehicles. With the engineer passive the harasser will repair a little bit more per second, and when the vehicle is forced to stop and repair you can help repair it. Not to mention you can use AV mines and C4, making thia playstyle miles better than two engineers on a Flash!

a variant of try hard engi called war engi you equip max fortify and survivalist or if youre lucky you equip bionics and asimilate then use asp point to get lmgs preferably the naginata(incredible accuracy holding still) how its done is with fortify it gives you more defense for standing still and this takes advantage of the naginatas hidden talent or if you have bionics this takes advantage of your shield recharge rate but requires good accuracy to replenish the shield youre not here to repair people....youre here to make sure the enemy medics do their job

A true S Tier engineer：mobile grenade launcher。They chose grenades as weapons accessories and shotguns as secondary weapons. In the tunnels of Hosen, they could easily kill hundreds of people in an hour.

You were on track with NSO being 'A tier', but didn't have the reason.. the jav. The jav gives you the ability to do everything you mentioned ON ROOFS. Set up your turret, throw down some ammo for yourself and ASP LMG on a roof.. then come talk to me chino.

yep engineer is a moving cert machine, from having advantage pvp wise and weapon variety, to refilling repairing etc. basically it defies the game classes because it can have shotgun as second and sniper as primary, vice versa. Also being able to have infinite ammo in a huge battle is actually super rewarding because me as a MAX always need a repairman / refiller. you can also chuck in repair nades and repair huge groups of vehicles without moving a finger. Sorry for long msg but it really has huge potential
