Light Assault is the most FUN class in PlanetSide 2. Here's why.

Every class in PlanetSide 2 has some sort of identity (although Engineer is a bit muddy outside of being the "vehicle repair guy"). Classes like Combat Medic and Engineer are in many FPS games in different forms so their concept is nothing too mind-blowing. Infiltrator is cool in concept but it seems like the overall player base hates their existence due to invisibility being overpowered when paired with a sniper rifle. Heavy Assault = press button, get shield. What about Light Assault? It can flank, engage, escape, glide and fly. It can traverse most terrain with ease and allows for incredible amounts of maneuverability with various options for jetpacks (jump jets), each with their own quirks and specialty. Nothing else provides such a unique way to play the game which is why I think it's such an enjoyable class. You can access entire areas by holding Spacebar that most other classes will never see and use those perches to take out enemies from above. What's not to love?

Gotta love LA. Jumping up into sneaky spots as a heavy is one thing, but the quick repositioning that the jetpacks give is almost always better. You have a great eye for when to use C4's as well. Those things were meaty! Icarus Jumpjets are my favorite in any tower fights.

Yeah I love that loadout, especially with 8 impulses so you can get big vertical when you need it.

you definitely have to try impulse nades and icarus jump jets, by far the best mobility for LA, icarus=vertical, impulse=horizontal, together they turn you into the LA going mach 5 flying over peoples heads and doming them at the same time

I've tried them but it didn't really do much for me. I can go pretty far but for what reason? Most of the time there's nothing to do that far away from where I spawn outside of just having fun.

@@ThankYouForComing yeah this was my problem with those too. The cost to use them (as a pilot) is too much for the benefit especially when you're paying for c4 too.

@@ThankYouForComing You don't need to go far; you can propel yourself into rooms in CQC. You can jump over people's heads, bunnyhop, throw off people s aim better than with any other jump jet. You can hover below the edges of rooftops and pop up faster than you could with any other jet. You can get to literally any spot on the map more efficiently than with any other jump jet. The ability to torpedo youself far distances at high speed is only a bonus. Maybe if you compare them with Ambushers, you could say that Ambushers are better for a niche because the boost is more on demand. But otherwise they are just a faster version of all other jump jets combined.

I definitely have to agree. Most of my hours are spent on the Light Assault, usually running the Bandit and Commissioner with Skirmishers, C4, ASC and Regeneration for a fast paced, hit-and-run playstyle. Being able to pop in and out of cover with full shields and health makes for a highly aggressive playstyle with very high uptime.

I've always preferred the Falcons, mainly cause you can kill both infantry and vehicles easily with it. Two rockets can kill most infantry as long as they're not right in your face. The best way to use em is to fire both rockets, wait till the reload circle pops up, pull out your shield while it reloads.

I figured someone would mention this haha. If you notice the Recursion notification I get a "revenge" medal - the same guy killed me like 3-4x back to back and just before that clip our sundy was getting farmed then destroyed and I died 10+ times in a few minutes trying to defend it. Overall bad fights on the continent, too.

Light assault is my goto class for quick infantry combat (ambusher jets). But the most fun class to me is infi because I like sneaking up on unsuspecting enemies and getting that kill. Also spying, hiding, and overall infiltrating hard to get into bases during a battle is satisfying to me.

if you learn the spray of your gun, you wont even need a solid ground to land on when you play LA, you can simple just "drive by" with the any version of the jetpack and score killing spree with out ever the need to paus on solid ground.

@@eden4949 I don't know if you're on NC, TR, VS, etc but for NC I'd say try the Razor and for TR try the Cougar. I don't have enough VS Carbine experience to recommend anything.

To me Engineer is my favorite with advanced shield capacitor, auxiliary shield, bionic and survivalist. You get insane shield recovery speed and infinite ammo. Also engi can use every weapon in the game minus sniper rifles.
